Two dickheads do not cancel each other, you only end up getting a ******.

And I do not mean that in a homosexual way as I am three quarters such.

Essentially both Evil Assholes and Active-Idiot-Vision have their own issues and both are money seeking profit machines but I cannot see this kind of active aggressive banter not harming the rest of the industry if it becomes the norm, one way or another.

Honestly,

I can't say I really care what either of them says. It's not going to impact the games we play, these guys aren't involved with that. Way back I used to think these guys were involved in managing the publishing and financing decisions of their companies, now it just seems they're involved in talking about random stuff that may or may not be true and may or may not be what they really mean or intent.

So for me that puts them along the lines of that loony guy who thinks he's Napoleon, he also says random stuff that may or may not be true and may or may not be what he really means or intents....

It seems like a PR grab on EA's behalf to get "in" with the gamers by being loud, obnoxious and against "The Man".. If you believe that stereotypical gamer profile anyway.

EA wishes it had Activision's sales numbers.
Heh, with the way BF3's goin (BF fanboy here btw) it looks like that will be the case.
Really? Its not like every announcement here, from neither EA or Dice or Origin. Is helping garner BF3 more sales. I stood through this shitflinging contest, I got origin. I was willing to give that browsergame a try. And then. . . THEN. I figure they done the exact same thing as steam and thinks that 60 Dollars = 60 EURO.. What the fuck. If they cant even do that better then screw them.

Wow, really mature EA. This is really pathetic, what the hell are you trying to prove anyway? You have no idea that Battlefield will take that much audience away from CoD, and the Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk game have nothing to do with Battlefield vs. CoD either. It's really pointless and just makes you look like an idiotic little child. But I still get the feeling that EA are behaving like this because they know that this is what the audience they are trying to steal responds to. It's just sad and disgusting. unprofessional and unecessary. I never thought I would ever side with Activision in any dispute but in this one I have to.

Oh and by the way, my opinion is purely based on the comments of the two parties in question. I have no intention of ever buying a CoD game or Battlefield, they do not interest me in the slightest. In fact I rather despise CoD because of the affect it's had on gaming.

So would you buy from the developer riding the high horse and milking the fuck out of you.Or would you buy from the developer who's not milking you all that much when you think about it and actually being a funny troll.

Holy shit, a story where a guy from Activision has the moral high ground. Some call Satan, is it getting chilly down there?

Anyone else imagining Activision to stick Kotick in a straight jacket and mask like Hannibal Lector to stop him responding? Dudes probably foaming at the mouth by now.
Doubt it, he probably knows as well as we do that this just makes EA look like a bunch of retarded children.

Both companies can fuck off. Battlefield 3 and MW3 both look like shooters which will bring nothing new to the FPS genre, which has been dead for quite some time (Around the time MW1 came out, which was really the last FPS with a decent story...and some somewhat interesting characters).

Gentlemen please, settle this like civilised men on the field of honour. Deathmatches on MW3 and BF3, most kills wins.

In truth seeing two very highly paid businessmen talk smack to each other is really pathetic and unprofessional.
Now that is something I would like to see. Would be interesting to see who is better in which game. The most hilarious would be if the guy from EA was better in MW and Activision was better in BF3. I also agree about the part of this being pathetic.

Bill Hicks had something to say about marketing:

I dont particularly like EA or Activision. However I do like DICE and Infinity Ward and wont be abandoning either game based on the crap their publishers are coming out with.

Wouldn't it be amusing if DICE and Treyarch/Infinity Ward would team up and publish the games themselves leaving EA and Activision behind to eat their dust. Never mind the marketing, fans can finance the game by donating £45 up front and wait their game of choice to arrive on Live or PSN.

OK, so the gamers have to pay an extra £5 and wait six decades for the game to download via one's console. Publishers take far too much money from the developers and if all of our £40 goes to the developers - surely that's money WELL spent. It's a lot of trouble, but wouldn't it be worth it just to wipe the smug smile off Bobby Kotick's face?

I'm sorry, I'm just disappointed. I don't care who's right, I really just thought the medium was better than this. EA is just being immature on level on par with the stereotypical CoD player. That is not a good thing, and it hardly makes us look good or me want to buy their game.

Seriously, i hope neither of these games do well now.
At this rate EA's going ot make you sign your soul away to play BF3, and MW3 is going to be EXACTLY THE SAME AS ALL THE OTHERS.

Fuck you EA.
Fuck you Activision.

"You completely dominated the shooter market last year and this year you'll dominate it a little less but still more than us!"
Dude, EA's a foul-mouthed little bastard.

Neither game looks particularly interesting, but only one of them requires me to install a bullshit, ancillary DRM client. If I were going to get either it'd be Modern Warfare. Origin can fuck itself.

The trash talk is just a PR stunt. I don't think either CEO really cares all that much about "the medium" and are both really just trying to push numbers in their own way.
If BF3 does not interest you, you have to lower your standards.

Stop being a ***** over origins, you have to install it to play BF3, you do not need to keep it. It only has to be a one time install.
BF3 doesn't interest me because it looks like a shinier version of Modern Warfare 3. The damage physics and weapons or whatever don't really matter to me.

As far as Origin, I've already got steam, which is more than enough. I don't need nor want origin. EA's games aren't so vital that I need to put up their extra shit just to play them.
Did you not read what I just said? It is a one time download that you can uninstall wright after.
