There are people that were thinking about buying the Wii U? That existed? That's a thing, now?
Huh. WELP, NO THANKS.

YES!
Please Nintendo take EA up on this offer, I will laugh for so hard and so long that it will probably kill me, but it would be worth it.

EA is looking for a way to muscle Origin into the console market (...) the source claims that EA is "aggressively persuading Nintendo to go Origin exclusive with Wii U's online so they can gain a competitive advantage over Steam."
Sounds legit. They are bringing back the guns I had expected them to have dropped years ago, if the source is legit.

Honestly, I thought Kotick had absorbed all the evil in the gaming world since those issues with Brutal Legend and Scratch.

well, since no-one has yet:

Seriously? You must now how well origin is going down with consumers? And how steam is widely loved? no? Huh. Do some research then Nintendo.

...I will SHOOT someone if that happens.

Once again, proof that Nintendo doesn't know jack s*** about online gaming.

Actually, I don't see this being a bad thing. The main problem I have with Origin is the invasive data farming on my PC, but that wouldn't be an issue on the Wii U (what with the hardware all being the same and stuff, and all the software being games).
Thank you sir. I was absorbed into the hooligan hive thinking, until I read your post and realized that hey, this isn't that bad for a console.

Don't let that happen.
My thoughts EXACTLY. This could only end in tears...

Part of me says, "Could it be any worse than the hash Nintendo has made in the past of any online presence of its own?" But as I've said before, there seems to be little more dangerous to say than suggesting that either EA or Activision is a lesser evil in any comparison.

Also, Origin's sales partners are still looking pretty spare, from what I've seen, so it would seem an odd decision on Nintendo's part unless they're privy to some secret knowledge.

I read the comments and noticed that we don't really have much hope on Nintendo to do the smart thing. Oh, well. At least I'm not Nintendo.

So third party providers have a choice between dealing with Origin and just not bothering with the WiiU. If they're sensible, its the latter.
Really, third-party providers shouldn't have a problem with Origin. There are worse online platforms out there.

Like Xbox Live.

A huge game companies' systems' online capability being handled by another huge game company? that seems unlikely. I still think EA is being very childish about origin. Thinking that it's online service that only provides games from a few publishers vs an online service that provides almost everything can compete.

Well I have a feeling it could make or brake the system if it is not right...Will be interesting to see how this pans out but I am sure what ever happens with the Wii U Nintendo is not going to let just anything be put on its console, especilly core software.

Since I know nothing about Origin, and I personally love VALVe and therefore love Steam, my vote goes to having Steam on WII U instead of Origin.

well, if this were to happen, the chances of me getting a wii u goes from 'maybe if its dirt cheap and its got some games that interest me' to 'not if my life depends on it', im sorry, i just want a half decent experience.

Give it up, EA. You'll never be as good as Valve at anything, so stop bloody trying.

If this happens, it's enough to make me never, ever, ever, ever, ever buy a Wii-U.
