No... the people who picked EA are stupid... remove their thumbs and monitor them for deviant behavior.

Ah, EA pulls the patented "George Lucas" cop-out: "So what if I suck? I still have more money than you."

Classy.

Vindication for what I've been telling people for years! Stop buying their games people, haven't you learned?
Nearly twenty years ago I bought a copy of "Jungle Strike" for the Sega Megadrive. Still one of my all-time favorite games, and one that I've played more than probably any other game, barring the likes of Warcraft, Transport Tycoon and TF2.

And now I feel less good about myself for it. Thanks EA, you massive douche-nozzles!

Traditionally, the Poo has been delivered on its little red pillow," writes the Consumerist. "But this year, we'll give EA three different color options for its pillow, though in the end it's still the same old Poo."

Oh man, I "lol'd" so much at that. Literally clapped my hands at the monitor.

I frequent sites like Forbes-Games and The Consumerist, so I actually kept watch on that bracket. I almost started a thread on it myself but assumed someone either already had or the Escapist editors themselves would bring it up.

Anyway, the whole thing is hilarious. I still think Comcast, Facebook, Walmart, Zynga (who wasn't nominated), or most notably Bank of America are more deserving, but having EA "win" makes a fairly strong statement about how pissed the gamers are. This shows they pushed their consumers WAY too far.

I seriously doubt they'll take anything away from this, but who knows. Maybe they'll stop ripping off costumers, buying out and destroying developers, milking and ruining franchises, and childishly mud-slinging at their competitors. Hell, maybe they'll even change their ludicrous DLC policies, price gouging, and even turn Origin into a useful, non-intrusive system people actually WANT to use.

(you have NO idea how hard it was to type that last bit without laughing)

I hope this wasn't SOLELY because of the goofy Mass Effect 3 thing.
I wouldn't have given it a second thought if it hadn't been "Which color of poo would you like?" part.

Talk about highlighting the avg. age of gamers.

If you seriously think EA is worse than Haliburton (actually got a lot of people killed in Iraq) or BoA (actually kicking people to the streets and while taking home record exec. bonuses) you are a fucking moron, sorry for the language but that is how pissed off you make me.

This is why America is as fucked up as it is. You, as a people, are actually retarded.
I only have one thing to say to ya

I hate EA, but BoA should have won this. Those of you that have said that the reason bank of America didn't win is because it only affects Americans must not understand how a world economy works.

Worse than Bank of America? Really?

Worse than Monsento? Really?

Worse than Blackwater? Really?

I mean, they are pretty bad, but really? There are FAR worse corporations out there.

If only enough of us could unite and refuse to purchase dlc unless they backdown. The problem is, EA attracted enough casual shooter fans with the new direction the Mass Effect series took, that it probably won't happen. Look at how many people bought Bulletstorm just because Jennifer Hale (the VA for Female Shepard) voiced a npc.
I actually got Bulletstorm because of "dicktits" and Scoring points for punting guys into spikes... I didnt even know they had Jennifer Hale in there.
Agreed. Also, who doesn't enjoy shooting baddies in the dick? Seriously, some of you are so quick to throw out accusations with little to no proof. At least the guy who brought up the RME fiasco did so knowing damn well that people are still talking about it and I'm sure they're still trying to get their money back from donating to less-unfortunate kids

Another thing, EA may have some fucked up business practices, but how they even compare to a mega-corporation who care only about their own money is far beyond me. At least EA has the good graces at least to try and earn their shit (pun totally not intended).

This just tell me that some people who use computers care about companies that make games for computers. I'm not that shocked.

EA can be regarded as a cancerous mass that eats at the medium Videogames. It swallows up Developers and kills them off, along with their Franchises.EA is to Videogaming what Christianity was to human Advancement in medieval times. EA holds the medium back.

In 50 years, people may speculate about how far gaming would be if EA weren't there.

But: It's a Company that hold the Videogaming medium back, no more. EA is not responsible for my empty Wallet. Maybe they would be if i bought their games.
EA isn't responsible for my former employer going bankrupt.

The Bank-collapse on the other Hand just might be.

They also don't understand that Bank of America isn't technically an American company.

You can't blame them, though. Despite the hate we give EA, it's really just free publicity, and despite how much we 'hate' all of their marketing strategies, we do say their games are fun and worth your money.

Not siding with EA here; they're a bunch of greedy assholes at the worst, but seeing them laughing at this isn't very surprising.

I thought we were starting to wrap up the whole ME3 bullshit. Guess I overestimated the maturity of my fellow gamers. Again. Oh, well.

As much as they probably don't deserve to be labelled the WORST company in America, its as good going to them as anywhere else - they won't listen, anywhere else is unlikely to listen, and this way we've made it very clear that we really, really don't like what they're doing. Whilst they publicly state they don't care, if more stuff like this keeps happening, they might have to start caring. Those 300,000,000 fans can turn on you real fast, and many already have if they were voted for this.

Ok EA does a lot wrong and generally speaking sucks. But I do think they are worse than many of the companies that were up for the vote, by a long margin.
Nobody had their life ruined by simply being a customer of EA.

People dislike EA for more than just what they seem to have done to Bioware. This is just being used as the tip of the spear.

Like I said on page 2- vote with your wallet. At some point people will. There is no shortage of other games out there to play.
