Because Dragonborn was already a thing, and dragon most importantly referred to Akatosh. Dragons were not that important as just a random flying lizard species, and I suspect they'll be shoehorned in.

The Dragonborn are individuals who embody the Covenant made between Saint Alessia and Akatosh, Alduin's alter ego dragon god that saved the world at the end of TES IV. People are going to be confused, and hopefully they don't run away from the complexity of it or offer some cop-out answer.
So they really are playing the "good dragon, bad dragon" card here. Ok, I can roll with that.

Huh, what's this feeling? I've felt it before. It's the feeling of hype!

I really like what I'm hearing, and hopefully it will bring back some of that fantastic atmosphere Morrowind had.
Judging by the screenshots of the wilderness, that is looking like a "fuck yes."

Let it happen and we better see a massive graphical update like you promised us. "Like you are playing on a new console".

MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Here:

Troll from TES IV: Oblivion:

Wait, trolls have hair? I thought that was skin... green skin.
'S Probably a yeti, dude, considering that it's snowy and all.
No... I got the magazine, and it said snow troll. I didn't really pay any attention to it because I was going "OMFG DRAGONS."

...Snow Troll? Really? I'll still call it a yeti, though, seeing as it has white fur, is in a snowy place, and is big and mean-looking.

Not really. They're both dragons, but they're also both gods. The same god, in fact.

Elves and some humans worship the Dragon God as the benevolent head of their pantheon. The Nords fear him as the devourer that ends each universe. They're both right. The identities of the Aedric deities are shaped by the beliefs of mortals, since they are only the dead echoes of the beings that sacrificed their immortality to create the world.

I always like the ideas behind Bethesda's games, but the presentation has never failed to utterly ruin them for me. Hopefully this will be the one to change that.

Dragonball Z is so funny if you spend the whole time under the assumption that all of the characters shouts and expressions are a result of extreme constipation.
/shrug Seems safer to live with that presumption than to assume there is no reason why the following exists

Either or, it sounds like a good idea... Honestly reminds me alot of what Everquest did with their "Serpents spine" expansion which added the Drakkin as a playable race, only a hell of a lot better.
You realize that youtube clip is a parody of animes right? It's not meant to be taken seriously. You should see the other videos made by the guy who made that clip, he's hilarious.

It does kind of sound like something a floppy-fringed GHD Final Fantasy character would have as opposed to a badass Nordic Warrior.

I can't wait for this game to come out. I plan on buying it about 3 or 4 months after release to give Bethesda enough time to fix all the glitches.
Chances are, it'll be buggy in some minor way, but that's no reason to skip buying it for a quarter of a year.

If you do let it go that long though, I'll be ready to buy your CE copy in addition to my own.

At first when I read the title I thought it would have megaman platforming and then I got confused. Although I would love to see how they would get that to work.

Sounds like a cool idea, I wonder if they'll have the shouts abilities change for the different races and such.

Either Dragon's Roar or Dragon Chant would work best depending on how they sound. But nope; Dragon Shout is apparently the way to go.
Well, the real name for it in the lore is Thu'um.

Isn't Alduin the Nord name for Akatosh? You know that good dragon god that saved your ass from Mehrunes Dagon?

From the UESPWiki...

"Alduin is the Nordic variation of Akatosh, and only superficially resembles his counterpart in the Eight Divines. For example, Alduin's sobriquet, 'the world eater', comes from myths that depict him as the horrible, ravaging firestorm that destroyed the last world to begin this one. Nords therefore see the god of time as both creator and harbinger of the apocalypse. He is not the chief of the Nordic pantheon (in fact, that pantheon has no chief; see Shor) but its wellspring, albeit a grim and frightening one.[1]

Another legend says that Alduin can "eat" away the age of his victims, and that he once ate the entire Nord population down to age six after being summoned by Orkey"

One still has to wonder however, "Will there be any online content at all?"
I hope that was a joke.
Not really.

Every single person I have asked about Oblivion or Morrorwind has at one stage said "Man, wouldn't it be great with co-op or something."

Thus, it's the first thing that comes to mind.

I doubt it will, and it's likely a good thing, but, it's just my thoughts.
oh you meant Online multi player, you made it sound like you were talking about DLC

Whatever would you want it for? The whole blessed, glorious point of TES is that it does not involve other people. If I want to game with a bunch of idiots, I'd have my friends over. TES is all about that gorgeous sense of isolation - this is MY WORLD...
