Elder Scrolls trolls? Always fluffy little ape guys. Well, WERE little. The Skyrim one looks like he's been downing 'roids in the 200 year hiatus.

Also, yeah - They're often referred to as Gnolls or something as well.
I should have said that the graphics caused my confusion.

Although I remember something now. Troll hair is super flammable, which is why they have that huge weakness to fire.

Or was that troll fat?

"blasts enemies across the map"

Ah yes, the loooooooong awaited "recall on target" spell. Excellllllent.

Skyrim is sounding more and more interesting, although there is still a lot to reveal. I'm with the cautiously intrigued right now.

Yeah, ok

Honestly the whole dragon shouts concept.. for some reason puts me in the mind of anime

Dragonball Z is so funny if you spend the whole time under the assumption that all of the characters shouts and expressions are a result of extreme constipation.

CAN I DECORATE MY HOUSE? WITH SKULLS?

I want to decorate my house with skulls. I don't care about anything else in Elder Scrolls games.

/shrug Seems safer to live with that presumption than to assume there is no reason why the following exists

Either or, it sounds like a good idea... Honestly reminds me alot of what Everquest did with their "Serpents spine" expansion which added the Drakkin as a playable race, only a hell of a lot better.

Don't fuck with us, Bethesda. No they won't.

And FFS, it's called Thu'um, not "Dragon Shouts." Or it's not really, but something called Thu'um already exists as a ancestral Nordic practice, and I assume they're going to extend it /retcon it to dragons. It's associated with Kyne and the wind, though, not Alduin.
You're probably very right. But not from a plot side. They'll also probably be some scripted destruction.

As for the latter they're probably referring to it's gameplay name rather than it's plot name.

I also don't see them having the name of gameplay mechanics in a made up language, that's too complicated.

Destroy Towns?

-sigh- and it will be THAT one town I will fall in love with!

Dragon Shouts?

ES Lore has talk of a sect of Nords that can not speak in a way similar to Blackbolt

Destroying towns eh? So which really cool town that could provide a lot of unique gameplay and extra quests is gonna be destroyed? What's worse is that it says "towns".

Still no news on whether this game is gonna be the same old black and white moral choice BS or if there might be some choices this time. Although judging by the fact that there are evil dragons, I'd say no.

I honestly doubt they're called "dragon shouts" in game. That does sounds a wee bit silly. I doubt they'll even put a label on the abilities ingame. Your just speak the language of the dragons to use their powers. It doesnt sounds to be a huge thing gameplay wise just a little side edition as a reward for killing a dragon. This news maybe does confirm how many dragons you'll see in game though, or at least how many dragons of note you'll kill during the story. Im very interested in seeing how fighting them will work though. The Elder Scrolls does not lend itself at all to quick time events, and the actualy developement studio Bethesda has done nothing that wouldnt make me not trust them, Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3 were amazing games, they had their shortcomings, but so did GTA4. Hauling around your friends every few days got boring as shit and they always called you. But that, along with the issues in Bethesdas games, are more of modest gripes than actual bad design. I cant wait for some more info, from what ive seen Skyrim is shaping up to be a masterpiece for any RPG lover, we need some knowledge on how we'll be fighting dragons damn it!

Huh, what's this feeling? I've felt it before. It's the feeling of hype!

I really like what I'm hearing, and hopefully it will bring back some of that fantastic atmosphere Morrowind had.
Judging by the screenshots of the wilderness, that is looking like a "fuck yes."

November = Birth month.

Let it happen and we better see a massive graphical update like you promised us. "Like you are playing on a new console".

MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Here:

Troll from TES IV: Oblivion:

Troll from TES V: Skyrim (unfinished):
Wait, trolls have hair? I thought that was skin... green skin.
'S Probably a yeti, dude, considering that it's snowy and all.

I personaly think the dragon shout thing sounds good, i assumed they'd have us grind down their health culminating in a GoW style quick time event or something.

This is going to be soooo good. I hope they have something like the Staff of Sheogorath. That weapon is SO much fun! Use it on Scalon's in mid leap. :p

GI writes that dragons will "fly into battle at unexpected times." With "awesome power," they'll regularly destroy towns and be a major pain in the butt. Luckily, Skyrim's players are dragonborn, the only chance that the world has against these massive beasts.
Hmmm, yeah, I see no way this can go wrong.

"Doop de doop. I say, this loot is pretty heavy, and my armament looks pretty worn. I know! I'll go to yonder village to sell all my loot and have my weapons and armour repaired! Also, perhaps some of the inhabitants have a quest that will lead me to more powerful equipment. *Dragon encounter destroys village* FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU-"

At least I can still save beforehand =/

Well, at least the idea is new for Bethesda.
It'd be better than doing the usual "block n' counter-spank" bullshit Oblivion threw at us.

EDIT: Here's a terrifying idea. Seeing how this game is being made primarily for Consoles*, it's entirely possible (and probable) that the Dragon Shouts will be handled by Quick Time Events.

Think about it. Epic, inter-battle scene that requires interactivity, but is too complicated for standard controls. That's how God of War handles it.

I'm hoping that isn't the case, but it's strong possibility given the circumstances.

What's the point in gaining extra super abilities if they're no use in a quick-time event?

I highly doubt they're going to be in there.

Dragon Shout plus babelfish. Let's see what sounds the best

Dutch - De schreeuw van de draak
French - Cri de dragon
German - Dracheruf
Italian - Grido del drago
Portuguese - Grito do dragão
Spanish - Grito del dragón

Wow, these all kind of suck.

Yeah i too am getting a tad fed up with quick time events when i could get used to controlling what i do 100% and on the plus side it would make me feel i did all the action instead of handing my combat side over to the quicktime side.
