No, you're downplaying it because you support it and you're trying to find a bullshit excuse not to admit it.
Care to elaborate on why you believe I support attacking the federal government? That's quite an accusation against all evidence.

Because the US has two options only normally

Trump was deemed by people to be the lesser of the evils and based on his track record, it's been a lot of noise but due (likely in part to incompetence) he's barely done any real damage.
A track record consisting almost solely of incompetence and corruption, and yet he's the lesser evil? That was always a ridiculous notion. Every flaw that made Clinton oh so unacceptable Trump shared in much more extreme forms.

Compared to the guy who:

1. Assassinated a top foreign general via missile strike inside a friendly country which directly lead to a US military installation coming under bombardment and US service members suffering casualties.
2. Continued to feed the US military supplies and support to Saudi Arabia's war in Yemen.
3. Abandoned US allies to be wiped out without warning in an active combat zones which will have future consequences for all US service members deployed worldwide alongside allied units.
4. Regularly "sabre rattled" with countries including Iran
5. Greatly expanded the US's drone strike program while removing oversight and civilian casualty reporting policies.

I'm not seeing much of a difference...

The lack of a war at present.

The only response to that is to say "Quote him. Quote Trump encouraging his followers to commit an act of terrorism."
And then watch as they stall for time and pull at their collars when they can't.
This is akin to arguing that catching a mafia don telling his underling to make an witness sleep with the fishes is merely evidence they were going to buy an aquarium for the guy's bedroom.

To be fair expressions like that came into use specifically because they wanted to be able to say in court they never actually ordered an assassination.

Quite right, and we all know that what is decided in court is the truth that we all must accept, since we keep using "Judges dismissed the cases!" as evidence that there was no fraud.

So let's all hold each-other to the same standards. If we can dismiss evidence for election fraud for lacking rigor, let's not hastily accept the allegation Trump encouraged riots without any evidence.

That's kind of the point I'm making.

It's a weak excuse to pretend that the person who incites a riot can't be held accountable because they didn't explicitly say "burn their shit down". But really, anyone should know that if you rile a mob they cause trouble, and if you direct them at a target, that's what they'll aim for. Whether it was intent or negligence doesn't really matter so much in the greater scheme of things.

That was the RNC building, unless you mean "the Capitol" to mean "the whole of D.C", or unless there's some news I haven't seen yet.
Bombs were placed at both the RNC and the DNC.

No it's Russian remember dear true leader not false leader told us so.
Cool. Any comment on the fact that we're still at war and have ramped up weapons sales and drones strikes?

Weird to do both there.........
Not when the RNC is full of deep state secret antifa communist traitors helping China steal the elections

So do you believe we should hold an investigation and trial into whether or not Trump encouraged the riots?

I don't think it's strange at all. Trump had been whipping up aggression towards "RINOs" very shortly before, during the "never give up, never concede" speech he gave. They see Republican Congressmen and Governors complicit if they don't also buy into the conspiracy theory.
