the fact that blood and guts gets an m at the most in a game, naked people get an auto AO rating most of the time

in movies, someone being shot and killed and lots of blood, at least a pg rating, probly pg-13 at the min, naked people auto R rating.

I'm...vaguely disappointed. I haven't heard much good about the anime, but I've been interested in looking for the manga for a while now. I mean, come on, Romance of the Three Kingdoms re-enacted with Japanese schoolgirls is like, the guilty pleasure to beat all guilty pleasures (short of pornography).

Still, what little I've seen of the game didn't impress me much.

The only two reasons I could possibly see this game being cancelled that actually sound viable are either if the characters start having sex or if the loser's body is cannibalized at the end of the fight.

Imagine that. A game that can't stand up on its own without gratuitous T&A gets cancelled. I'm not sure I follow the point here---if it's M-rated then only 17+ can buy it (at least in theory), and the whole point of game ratings in the first place is so that the ESA can tell Congress and Jack Thompson that they're not marketing stuff that shouldn't be seen by kids AT kids.

The implication here is that their game isn't good enough to keep the attention of anyone old enough and mature enough to play it. That says more about the product than it says about the ESRB.

Ikki whatever is the worst type of anime. I saw a couple of episodes and it tries to mix super serious Japanese....stuff with sexplotation. And none of it makes any sense.

It's like, "I will live up to you, mother, and regain honor to our house.....oh super kawaii my clothes just tore off." It's borderline schizophrenic. Actually most anime is pretty schizo.

Seriously, I don't see how the US is being sexually repressed when the ESRB says a game, that's supposed to be 100% fan service and features clothes shredding to the point of nudity, is "Mature." Because from where I stand, this game pretty much defines the M rating.

When it comes to being overprotective, there's so many better and more blatant examples you can use than this.

What they should REALLY do is push through with development, but hike up the content to be worthy of an AO rating, and sell it unrated as a snub to the fucktards at the ESRB.

Problem with that is most stores don't sell unrated games (as far as I'm aware, anyways). Sure, it'd snub the ESRB, but it wouldn't do them much good.

You know what? Good on the ESRB. Full breasts *should* get an M rating. The ESRB is the video game industry's method of "policing itself" so that the politicians don't have to. As long as it is doing it's job, there won't be a strong pull for BS laws that truly limit what developers can do. Despite being essentially funded by the video game industry, the ESRB has done an exemplary job of sticking to their guns and accurately reporting the content of games. As long as they do that, there won't be a push for a government-operated ratings system.

It's not the ESRB's job to change people's mind about what's appropriate, but rather to assign, as best they can, an age rating that is in keeping with the social standards of the society. Giving this game anything less than an M would simply cause them to lose credibility, which would ultimately lead to push for the government to impose its own rating system.

That being said, the game looked terrible. Also, I'm surprised that the ESRB only gave it an M instead of an AO.
