You are all horrible people, you know that? Can I join you with my pure hatred for upcoming DmC? I want it to fail just because I want it to prove that gritty reboots are fucking stupid. Well They messed up Dante too.

Oh who am I kidding. We saw the rise of Bomberman Act Zero. Industry is beyond redemption by this point.

That XCOM FPS is a no brainer, but also I'd like to see Crysis 3, Warface and Homefront 2 completely and utterly bomb.

Then Crytek may be finally forced to have a look at Free Radical's plans for Timesplitters 4, and give it the go-ahead.

The Elder Scrolls MMO. I'm well aware that it won't have a direct impact on any future non-MMO ES games being made, but I fear it having the same effect on the franchise as WoW did on Warcraft. I loved Warcraft 3, it was my favorite game for a long time, and WoW completely destroyed it. I am quite certain that they'll want to keep whatever lore changes the new guys bring to the table, and frankly, I don't think the MMO will stick with the standard that the previous games have set. The whole "faction" system seems trite and contrived, and only intended to be a case of one-upping WoW: "Two factions? We have three! UMGUMGUMG!"

From my point of view, there is nothing good to be gained from an Elder Scrolls MMO. At best, it will be a waste of time and resources. At worst, it may undermine and destroy one of the best series of games in existence.

Yes, Diablo 3 because of the stupid always on-line DRM. And The Old Republic a little bit. Why didn't they make a decent single-player KOTOR 3 instead of this?

And I also want Call of Duty to fail, so Activision decides to introduce real innovation and good interactive gameplay in the franchise.

You know, games before WoW also had 3 factions...

I give to you .... Dark Age of Camelot...

Quite a lot of people have been asking for another 3 faction game for some time now.

Nope. I'm not petty enough to want to see a game fail just because I don't like it. Rather than wishing it would fail I just ignore it.
What this person said. You know what I do when there's a game I don't like? I don't buy it!!
For fuck's sakes people, turn off the hate valves, you'll enjoy life more. ...maybe.
No! I don't want to ignore every thing. If I believe it's gone to shit then I'll say it.

I find it petty to ignore corruption and these terrible tactics to increase their 'audience' while forcing more DRM or some other shit at the same time.
I'm not getting into corporate corruption or DRM or any of that other shit here because that is a whole other discussion.

Suffice it to say I find wanting a game to fail just because you don't like it incredibly petty. I, myself, am not fond of the CoD/Medal of Honor series but I don't particularly want each one to fail. I'd rather they stopped making them, but I'm not going to waste my energy on it.

After playing it through, I had(and, to an extent, still have) very ill wishes for Heavy Rain, as I'd never played a video game before with no redeeming qualities other than that one scene with the pinky cutting off.

Better for the series to die on a decent note (won't say high note, because 4 was a step down from 3) than have the entire franchise mutilated into...that for years to come.

OT: Yeah, you know my answer. Capcom have no idea what they're doing. Ninja Theory less so. The outright disrespect to the fans they've showed is pretty unforgivable.

Corruption and DRM is a huge part of the discussion, whether it's what you're talking about or not.

And if you want them to stop making them, how else do you think that is going to happen? There is only one way developers/publishers learn a lesson.

I find it petty to play Mr. Neutral while calling others names. Must make you feel like a big man.

No they are not unless you want to make them part of it, but I have no desire to derail this thread.

Second of all I am not calling anyone names. I am saying the behavior is petty. If you want to take offense to that then that is your problem. I am just trying to express an opinion.

And lastly, and by 'lastly' I mean I'm done with this discussion, it is one thing to dislike a game and let developers/publishers know why you dislike it is one thing, but wasting vast amounts of energy wishing it to fail only serves to make you miserable.

Honestly, I'd like World of Warcraft to die already, but only because I want the original warcraft series to continue.

I loved warcraft 3, and I'm a little bitter that I'm never going to get a warcraft 4, especially with WOW's storytelling being absolute garbage for the most part. If I had my way, I'd retcon everything from WOW and set warcraft 4 maybe a few years after Arthas becomes the Lich King.

Then again, with the direction Blizzard has been taking its' recent games, perhaps being left wanting more is for the best.

I was originally against The Old Republic for largely the same reasons, but I eventually realized that any follow-up to KOTOR 2 that wasn't made by Obsidian was going to be terrible anyway, so I'm not as bitter on that front (though I am pissed at Bioware/Lucasarts/Whoever's decision it was to retcon the most brilliant parts of KOTOR 2. Bastards.)

Mass Effect 4
Oh, yeah, I forgot about that.

I hope that game dies, not with a bang, but with a pathetic wimper.

One of the only things I liked about the original ending of 3 was that it effectively destroyed any possibility of a sequel. I like self-contained trilogies, because you get a story with a clearly defined beginning and end instead of a bloated mess like, say, Star Wars.

Then the Extended Cut came along and "fixed" (I would make those quotation marks the size of mountains if I could) that particular issue.

To go off on a tangent, that's a large part of the reason why I don't like tie-in comics, novels and movies. If sometihng relevent to the game's plot occurs, it should occur in the game itself. Blizzard in particular is horrible with this shit.

I was looking forward to the failure of Star Wars TORtanic. I saw a beta gameplay video, and from that moment forward there was no doubt in my mind (or anyone's I hope) that the game was going to be an abject failure. Everquest's/WoW's frigging battle system and similarly dated visuals delivered in an engine that wouldn't be sanctioned for retail by its owners until months before TOR released (TOR was built in the engine as it was in 2008).

What could possibly go wrong dot jaypeg???

I don't think that's the same as genuinely wanting a game to fail. It's more like watching the preamble before a big test dummy crash in slow motion. There's no doubt about what's going to happen, so there's no "hoping". There's just anticipation and waiting.

I want to see a call of duty game fail. While call of duty isn't exactly raw sewage, it's still a pretty flawed game, being more or less a bunch of games that play and feel the same (With the exception of black ops 2, which had some big changes in it), and they don't deserve the raving hype they get.
