Yes they are! A lot of responses are because of DRM and what not. No! I don't want to ignore every thing. If I believe it's gone to shit then I'll say it.canadamus_prime said:What this person said. You know what I do when there's a game I don't like? I don't buy it!!anthony87 said:Nope. I'm not petty enough to want to see a game fail just because I don't like it. Rather than wishing it would fail I just ignore it.
For fuck's sakes people, turn off the hate valves, you'll enjoy life more. ...maybe.
I find it petty to ignore corruption and these terrible tactics to increase their 'audience' while forcing more DRM or some other shit at the same time.
Suffice it to say I find wanting a game to fail just because you don't like it incredibly petty. I, myself, am not fond of the CoD/Medal of Honor series but I don't particularly want each one to fail. I'd rather they stopped making them, but I'm not going to waste my energy on it.
And if you want them to stop making them, how else do you think that is going to happen? There is only one way developers/publishers learn a lesson.
I find it petty to play Mr. Neutral while calling others names. Must make you feel like a big man.
Second of all I am not calling anyone names. I am saying the behavior is petty. If you want to take offense to that then that is your problem. I am just trying to express an opinion.
And lastly, and by 'lastly' I mean I'm done with this discussion, it is one thing to dislike a game and let developers/publishers know why you dislike it is one thing, but wasting vast amounts of energy wishing it to fail only serves to make you miserable.
Fine fine, carry on with your hatred. See if I care.Nazulu said:Yes they are! A lot of responses are because of DRM and what not. Second of all, it is calling names, and it's a petty argument to label everyone just because you disagree. I always see people acting so righteous, thinking they know whats best, when they should be defending instead of making lazy stupid responses. You wasted energy on that really. You think you're going to change anyone's mind by just calling people petty?
And how do you know they just dislike it and that's it? Also, where did you get this 'wasting vast amounts of enegry' rubbish from? This is a lazy thread where people can just quickly reply there opinion. Assumptions make for terrible arguments every single time mate.

I don't like the idea of wishing genuine failure on any industry providing jobs for people, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to see a wake-up call for some of the franchises getting away with homogenizing the same formula year after year in hopes of wringing all the cash they can out of it.Z of the Na said:So...the point of this thread is to wish hate and doom on a franchise that you may not enjoy, while other people may enjoy it considerably?
...alrighty then. That's pretty...shallow.
Yeah, I sorta feel the same way about people with snarky brony avatars...Z of the Na said:EDIT: Did you really have to put an emoticon in the title of the thread, too? Ugh.
^This. Last decent game of theirs I remember was Prototype... have they produced anything else worthwhile since then?lRookiel said:I'd love to see a call of duty game fail.. like completely.
It might make Activision make some more original game ideas....
Basically this, and most every game EA puts out, for much the same reason.sageoftruth said:If it's from Zynga, then I'll definitely want it to flop. A successful Zynga game suggests that exploitative lackluster games are where the money's at.
I hear this a lot, and I only half agree with you.lRookiel said:I'd love to see a call of duty game fail.. like completely.

Never seen Nostalgia Chick, and critiquing Lara or Dante's character is like critiquing an B action movie star. You're there to see some badass give one liners and blow things up. Not everything has to be deep and artistic and try to make a statement. Honestly I don't remember much of her character since the only Tomb Raider I played was the first one when it came out, and I remember her being a female Indiana Jones.BrotherRool said:I know it's not the point but that comic reminded me just how awful a character old Lara Croft is. I saw that and I got to the last panel and I momentarily struggled to understand how she'd ever survived. Do you know Nostalgia Chicks 'Strong Independent Women' thing that she goes on about? Lara Croft is the very worst of that. Okay we want to look at some T&A instead of the normal male dude, but that would be sexist. So she will be a Strong Independent Women. She must have no personality because character arcs and personality flaws are for guys. She will act like a ***** to everyone. She will be non-emotive (emotions are a sign of weakness). She will be cardboard.
gah that comic panel just somes up everything I hate about old Lara Croft. Look they even have the ridiculous pandering cleavage flash, the pouting everyone else is scum expression. To me that is a comic about how age makes us lose our love of life and the world strips us of oour hope and imagination until we become cynical and beaten and drudge through our every day lives. Forgetting in booze and moaning about how stupid the young generation are, because they haven't yet forgotten how to dream. Tell me that that's not secretly there
(incidentally remember the days when people complained about how DMC3 Dante was this young brashy dick who couldn't touch the coolness of old Dante. I bet people are wishing him to return now =D)
