Back when I was generally new to the internet and having to pick a name for things, I was playing and really enjoying the Sam & Max games, the titular characters' occupations being freelance police. There was also a joke going around my friends at school that whoever had earned the most money in 10 years time would win me as a butler.
Funny how picking two things pretty much at random from my life at the time would produce a username I'd become so attached to.

I also sometimes go by Farty Jones these days, partly because I'm immature so find it kinda funny, but also other people are just as immature and also enjoy it as evidenced by me winning my team a game of League of Legends because the other team was too busy laughing at my name to play properly.

Nicked it from this song, as I was on a massive Mastodon binge when I made the account.

Plus, it's a giant prehistoric shark, which I like.

Mine is pretty simple, it just comes from the fact that'm apparently "very british" in how I act, culminating in an inside joke where I'd respond to comments with the phrase "Well, I AM truly british."
Hence my name is TrulyBritish. Don't use it on that many sites though I don't think.

1: Because its also my gamer-tag on Xbox
2: The "Rebound" part was part of an inside joke between my friends, comparing me to a character in a Matthew Reilly book who shared a less than inspiring track record with the ladies with me

My name originally comes from people mispronouncing my last name, pronouncing it as "beers". I got really annoyed at it at first so some people started calling me Beerzey to irritate me, but eventually I grew accustomed to it and started to like having a nickname. So I started using Beer Z as my gamername and putting various titles before it depending on the game (eg my necromancer on GW2 is called NECRO Beer Z) but KING is the default.

My username originates in the time before time...

I've been using "Pohaturon" since I was 6, I think. Back then, I was really, I mean really, into lego, and more specifically Bionicle. So, I took my fav bionicle, "pohatu*", and added the first three letters of my name "Ronci" to the end.

I thought of it and it was sort of funny for about five minutes. Apparently it didn't occur to me that a million other people had already thought of it either. Before I changed to this though, I went by Wasder, which I came up with when I was 13. I'm pretty sure that was just because I'd been playing a lot of Oblivion so w,a,s,d came naturally to my hand. I don't really use it anywhere elsewhere, except for my Minecraft account which has my initials in front of it (which means people tend to abbreviate it to SMW rather than Wasder).

I wanted a name that sounded somewhat meaningful implying some form of improvement and one without xXx or numbers in it (no offence to those who use those).

Back in the ancient times, there was a young boy who tried to make a RuneScape account.
He couldn't come up with a good name so he just wrote the first cool name he could think, that name was half-dead.

The name, as always with these kinds of games, was already taken, so he decided to add a simple number 25 at the end.
As he grew older the quarter of a hundred got old and thus he decided to hit the number cap and go for 255.

And to this day he is known for his undying name followed by the numbers two five and five.

tl:dr just a random name with a random number at the end.

The Italian language and DFO.
No, that's really as simple as it gets. I was playing DFO and needed a name for my Asura, so I went with what fit his soon-to-be black soul.
Nera = Black
Anima = Soul
yeah, pretty unoriginal when you think about it. But I use it whenever I can, because it works.

Miyenne is the character I made up over 15 years ago. She's been my every online persona and every character in every game I play.

She's just kinda a part of me now. I answer to Miy as much as I do my real name after years of playing MMOs with voice chat. Some old WoW friends even call me Miy in real life now that we visit each other.

Playing FF6 advanced for the first time and I just loved Ultros. He was a goofy character who never gives up despite being terrible as a villain. Then he just calls himself that when he fights Relm and i just lose it. So I choose it because dammit I love Ultros.

I love the Legend of Zelda, I love Link, he is referred to as the Hero of Time. Hero if Time was already taken on the Escapist, so I chose to make a silly pun, thus the Hero of Lime username was born.

I am....Headsprouter.

Because my avatar is Headsprouter. And also because it's either that or Headzprouter everywhere else.

It's just a creature from TS:FP I like.
