I used to do illustrations for a local independent magazine. One of the projects I was given was to draw up an image for an article on console loyalty and the somewhat mindless dedication folks have over their console of choice.

I've never really understood the mentality of folks who give Nintendo a free pass simply because they're Nintendo so I went for the low hanging fruit and submitted a picture of Mario designed to look like Mao Tse Tung from the cover of the "little red book."

My editor, for some reason felt that the idea had merit but was worried about the implication of portraying a known Italian character as a Communist leader. So I redesigned it with Diddy Kong instead, because nobody gives a shit about offending monkeys.

Despite my attempt to avoid controversy, we received a letter from an offended gentlemen who complained about the visual pun because Di Di Mau is a Vietnamese phrase and not Chinese. I honestly hadn't even thought about that when I designed the image.

So there you go.

Diddy Kong + Mao Tse Tung + offended reader = Diddy Mao

The underscore is there because I like underscores.

Johnny Impact is the name of a superhero NPC I created a long time back for a dice-and-paper game with some friends. I also played him in City of Heroes, and possibly Champions Online, though I can't remember for sure. Used it mainly because I like the sound of it.

He was basically a policeman from the future. He used the hypertechnology of his era's law enforcement to make our time better. Maybe I still have a picture......guess not. Imagine a high-tech motocross outfit: red jumpsuit, gauntlets, jet boots. Miniaturization had advanced to the point where, despite appearing minimalist compared with, say, Iron Man, his suit had an impressive array of abilities.

My usual handle is Maladjester, because I used to be much more of a sarcastic misanthrope than I am now. Apparently I registered here under that name way back when the site was new. Came back a few years later, couldn't remember my password, could not recover it as my email was no longer the same. So, new name.

Seriously, I can't stand gamertags that are some common word or phrase or popular thing with bunches of random numbers or X's. I wanted a clean gamertag and user name.
D:

OT: It was my first e-mail account some eleven or twelve years ago. Something easy that young-me could remember.

I've briefly considered switching to the name of my primary World of Warcraft character, but there's a certain innocent charm in the current name that I think would be lost in the translation.

Oh it's quite simple, I like to fix things & I'm a guy so that's where the Mr. comes from. So yeah it was either Mr. Fixit or Intoxicus Maximus.

It's the way a childhood friend used to mispronounce my real name.
That's it.

I essentially go by the name Pickles, only my parents and work colleagues use my real name.
And Pickles is taken on most websites so I usually default to ImPickle or gianttalkingpickle.

Sometimes bumblebeetuna, but thats a rare one to get first.

A few years back, I was watching a video on Newgrounds about some sort of secret agent/supersoldier guy. I think the project was scrapped and left unfinished, which was a shame, but that's beside the point.

I'm a rather arrogant person, and the name of the video was the character's nickname: Arrogancy.

Before I made accounts on websites like Youtube and The Escapist, I was playing Spore. I created this creature that I called the "scorpatious" and then I decided, hey, that would be a decent username. So I used it to create my account on Youtube. It was only right after I created my account that I added a "t" in between the "p" and "a".

And thus, scorptatious was born! :D

but wouldnt you be more likely to kill me if there was only one ninja?
You fool! Those are only the twenty you see. For every ninja you see there are at least seven you don't see! Therefore there are at least 140 ninja ready to pounce when you least expect it!

My name is Jelle. I'm Dutch.

So yeah.

Been using this name since 2003 or something. Great way to attract fellow Dutch on the net, that's for sure. English people cant pronounce the Jelle properly and think it's Jelly .

Name stems from an obscure reference to Vampire the Masquerade and my original online gaming handle from the DOOM/Quake days, which also stems from another White Wolf game, Mage: the Ascension.
Suffice to say I was a huge WW gamer in my late teens/early 20's until they trashed the WoD series and redid it. So my usernames are generally a reference to a "better time". Pepperidge Farm remembers.

I came home from watching the new Ghostrider movie at the discount theater. Later that day I decided to sign up for Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends Big Fat Awesome House Party, and I thought it would be cool to have Ghostrider be my username. It didn't work, so I remembered the song 409 so I wrote Ghostrider409, but that didn't work. Cartoon Network's website suggested Ghostrider409895, and I went with it. For some reason I have just continued with that into adulthood.
