In the movie Deliverance, that is not actually the boy's hand playing, it is someone else's behind him! :3

**Paul** is not dead :p

Edit: I realize that everyone on here is not necessarily 31 years or older, so allow me to clarify one of the above points. By **Paul**, I mean the McCartney, not the apostle.
I thought everyone knew that. John Lennon and George Harrison are dead. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are still alive.
That's not what the "Paul is not dead" is about. He's talking about a big publicity stunt/conspiracy theory The Beatles pulled when they were still together.
Oh, my bad. Sorry about that :p

The bird creature in the last book of The Chronicles of Narnia represents Lucifer, The Beast and The AntiChrist, and the book itself presents a more agnostic approach to Christianity.
i was actually surprised when i found out that whole series is about god and the devil and heaven. i would not have guessed that but ive only seen the movies :)
Yep, C.S. Lewis was a devout Christian. It would only make sense for the book series to have certain Christian elements in it :p
"Paul is dead" is part of the Beatle's mythos. I think it started with Abbey Road. Paul wasn't wearing a shoe...I don't really know how it started, as I was neither alive nor really high when it happened, but a huge portion of the fanbase was buying into the notion that Paul had died and that the Beatles had replaced him with an imposter. This was apparently greatly enjoyed by the Beatles. Again, I'm not sure. Ask your mother :p

C.S. Lewis was raised a devout Christian, then became an Atheist, then re-converted.

This is true of a great many movies where musical instruments (especially the vocal chords) are involved. I watched Desperado again last night and there are definitely parts where Antonio Banderas is not playing the guitar (he is also lip synching). Raine Wilson is fakin' it in The Rocker (which you shouldn't see anywho, as it is a far lesser knockoff of School of Rock).

The main three stars of Chuck were all in big games last year (Mass Effect 2 and Fallout: New Vegas)

Nick Frost, Simon Pegg, Dylan Moran and Bill Bailey are almost always with one of the others in major films or tv shows (excluding comedy tours and panel shows):
Spaced: Nick Frost and Simon Pegg (Bill Bailey guest starring)
Black Books: Dylan Moran and Bill Bailey (with Simon Pegg guest starring)
The Three Cornetto Films (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Paul): Nick Frost and Simon Pegg (with Dylan Moran in SotD and Bill Bailey in Hot Fuzz)
Run Fatboy Run: Simon Pegg and Dylan Moran
and i knew all of that off the top of my head.
Paul isn't a Cornetto film because it wasn't directed by Edgar Wright.

So... be ready for that... an actual spiritual successor to Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead is in store.

This article on cracked [http://www.cracked.com/article_19190_6-classic-movies-you-didnt-know-were-remakes.html] had a bunch that were really interesting.
Going by that and going with the first one. The Wizard of Oz book is a fantasized version of America. The Slippers were silver and were needed to walk on the gold road and the way to see the Emerald city in all its grandeur you needed Green tinted glasses(AKA could only see it through money)

The movie Young Frankenstein used all of the original laboratory props from the first Frankenstein movie.

Also, Marty Feldman would shift the hump on his back from the left to the right without telling anybody, and when everyone else finally found out they decided to turn it into the "What hump?" gag.

It depends, I suppose, on 5 people: the actor, the director, the cinematographer, the editor, and the audience (trying to fool an actual musician is like trying to fool Marley Matlin with an actor who took one sign language class yesterday).

Well this is much different. He is playing right there for real, it isn't dubbed over. There is literally a person behind him sticking an arm up through his shirt.

In Team Fortress 2, the Announcer is the same lady (Ellen McLain) who is the voice of GlaDOS. And she is married to the man who plays the voice of the Sniper (John Patrick Lowrie). The Spy and the Pyro have the same voice actor (Dennis Bateman). The man who does the voice of the Medic (Robin Atkin Downes) appeared on Babylon 5 as Byron. And he's British, not German, IRL, and he will be the voice of Mumm-Ra in the new Thundercats cartoon series. And in a totally unrelated to TF2 but in an amazing coincidence with Portal, he appeared as a voice in an episode of a show called "Regular Show" in an episode called "Free Cake". And the Heavy and the Demoman have the same voice actor, Gary Schwartz.

That's Robin Atkin Downes, the guy with the long hair.

Serial Experiments Lain...

Just a few off the top of my head...

-None of the creators can agree to what the show is actually supposed to be about...

-The ending theme is actually a cover of an older song by R/C Succession... the singer used to be the guitarist for them...

-The opening theme is by the British band BOA, the singer of the band is actually the daughter of Paul Rodgers, Jasmine Rodgers...

-An EP for the band was also used to highlight the re-release of their first album and used art from Serial Experiments Lain...

-The game Phantoma is supposed to represent the old arcade game Polybius that was said to be used by the US government to monitor the effects of video games on children and was said to have caused mental disorders in some that played it...

-It was suggested that the internet was created by alien technology from the Roswell incident...

-The creator of Serial Experiments Lain didn't have as much control over the anime and was unsatisfied with it but had more input in the game and was still unsatisfied...

-Contrary to popular belief the character of Lain isn't an expy of Rei from Evangelion, in fact no one working on the project had watched EVA until after the 4th or 5th episode was done...

-it was actually more inspired by American horror films like the Exorcist and Poltergeist, which explains why creepy children seems to be a theme...

-The remixed soundtrack was originally unofficial but due to popularity became an official piece of merchandise...

-Copland OS, the major OS in Lain, is actually a cancelled OS from Apple...

-The words Close the world, Open the nExt, is a reference to NeXT Software, a company that specialized in computers for higher learning and business, started by Steve Jobs the co-founder of Apple... It's also said that many of the steps taken in developing the original version of the IP was done on a NeXT computer...

-Tachibana Labs, is the major computer company in Lain... the name is actually a play on words since Tachibana means Mandarin Orange and can be seen as a reference to Apple...<.<

-the, "To Be Continued." is a reference to Be Inc. the main competitor to NeXT studios...

-the voice that says the title at the beginning of each episode is actually the synthesized speech program from Apple using the setting Whisper...

-Lain's password for her computer, "Think Bule Count One Tow." is a corruption of her fathers Password, " Think Blue Count Two." which in term is a reference to a short story of the same name...

-The person who does the voice of the teacher in the english dub is actually Steve Blum, the guy who did Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop and Mugen from Samurai Champloo...

-Serial Experiments Lain was originally planned to be a game and two anime series but due to the fact that it was considered a high risk venture, it's funding was cut and it became a show and a game...

The lazer effects and smoke used in the first Alien film that shone over the alien eggs were borrowed from a concert by "The Who" Which was happening beside the place they were filming.

The voice actor that played the original "Tigger" from Winnie The Pooh, also invented the artificial heart.

The Abbey Road album cover shows a funeral march with Lennon as the preacher, Starr as the pall-bearer, McCartney as the deceased and Harrison as the gravedigger. It was specifically designed to be that way but it became one of the major points in the 'Paul Is Dead' theory. Others include the back of the Sgt. Peppers CD (in the picture, Paul has his back to the camera), lyrics in certain songs, specifically A Day In The Life and I Am The Walrus and loads of other crap. It's all ridiculous but, nonetheless, it is interesting

Also, to fit into all the Beatles talk, here's a humourous link where Paul McCartney talks about the Beatles being anti-materialistic:

The suitcase from Pulp Fiction was originally meant to hold the diamonds from Reservoir Dogs, but it was written out to make it more mysterious and they didn't want to use diamonds again.

I did know about the prop recycling, but the hump story is new. I miss Marty.
