In the movie Deliverance, that is not actually the boy's hand playing, it is someone else's behind him! :3
Oh, my bad. Sorry about thatDJDarque said:That's not what the "Paul is not dead" is about. Edit: I realize that everyone on here is not necessarily 31 years or older, so allow me to clarify one of the above points. By **Paul**, I mean the McCartney, not the apostle.
"Paul is dead" is part of the Beatle's mythos. I think it started with Abbey Road. Paul wasn't wearing a shoe...I don't really know how it started, as I was neither alive nor really high when it happened, but a huge portion of the fanbase was buying into the notion that Paul had died and that the Beatles had replaced him with an imposter. This was apparently greatly enjoyed by the Beatles. Again, I'm not sure. Ask your motherkortin said:I thought everyone knew that. John Lennon and George Harrison are dead. Yep, C.S. Lewis was a devout Christian. It would only make sense for the book series to have certain Christian elements in itMerkavar said:i was actually surprised when i found out that whole series is about god and the devil and heaven. i would not have guessed that but ive only seen the moviesfunguy2121 said:The bird creature in the last book of The Chronicles of Narnia represents Lucifer, The Beast and The AntiChrist, and the book itself presents a more agnostic approach to Christianity.
This is true of a great many movies where musical instruments (especially the vocal chords) are involved. I watched Desperado again last night and there are definitely parts where Antonio Banderas is not playing the guitar (he is also lip synching). Raine Wilson is fakin' it in The Rocker (which you shouldn't see anywho, as it is a far lesser knockoff of School of Rock).PatSilverFox said:In the movie Deliverance, that is not actually the boy's hand playing, it is someone else's behind him! :3
Don't worry about it. I only know about it because I took a Rock History class. Read up on it. It's pretty interesting. Paul is dead.kortin said:-snip-
Paul isn't a Cornetto film because it wasn't directed by Edgar Wright.William MacKay said:Nick Frost, Simon Pegg, Dylan Moran and Bill Bailey are almost always with one of the others in major films or tv shows (excluding comedy tours and panel shows):
Spaced: Nick Frost and Simon Pegg (Bill Bailey guest starring)
Black Books: Dylan Moran and Bill Bailey (with Simon Pegg guest starring)
The Three Cornetto Films (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Paul): Nick Frost and Simon Pegg (with Dylan Moran in SotD and Bill Bailey in Hot Fuzz)
Run Fatboy Run: Simon Pegg and Dylan Moran
and i knew all of that off the top of my head.
This looked soooo legitimate though, when I heard the commentary I was like 0.0funguy2121 said:This is true of a great many movies where musical instruments (especially the vocal chords) are involved. *EDIT* SORRY THOUGHT I HAD GOT RID OF THAT MY BAD!Monty McDougal said:I brother, who is a big fan of the fast and furious series told me the "Tokyo Drift"(#3) is a prequel to the two newer ones.
Going by that and going with the first one. The Wizard of Oz book is a fantasized version of America. The Slippers were silver and were needed to walk on the gold road and the way to see the Emerald city in all its grandeur you needed Green tinted glasses(AKA could only see it through money)Safaia said:This article on cracked [http://www.cracked.com/article_19190_6-classic-movies-you-didnt-know-were-remakes.html] had a bunch that were really interesting.
It depends, I suppose, on 5 people: the actor, the director, the cinematographer, the editor, and the audience (trying to fool an actual musician is like trying to fool Marley Matlin with an actor who took one sign language class yesterday).PatSilverFox said:This looked soooo legitimate though, when I heard the commentary I was like 0.0funguy2121 said:This is true of a great many movies where musical instruments (especially the vocal chords) are involved. Well this is much different. He is playing right there for real, it isn't dubbed over. There is literally a person behind him sticking an arm up through his shirt.funguy2121 said:It depends, I suppose, on 5 people: the actor, the director, the cinematographer, the editor, and the audience (trying to fool an actual musician is like trying to fool Marley Matlin with an actor who took one sign language class yesterday).PatSilverFox said:This looked soooo legitimate though, when I heard the commentary I was like 0.0funguy2121 said:This is true of a great many movies where musical instruments (especially the vocal chords) are involved. Ohhhhhhhh! Wow, that has been bugging me for soooo damn long! Thank you!Phlakes said:The paper in the BSG reboot had no corners because the crew was showing how the network forced them to cut corners in the pilot. They decided to keep it for continuity.
The Abbey Road album cover shows a funeral march with Lennon as the preacher, Starr as the pall-bearer, McCartney as the deceased and Harrison as the gravedigger. It was specifically designed to be that way but it became one of the major points in the 'Paul Is Dead' theory. Others include the back of the Sgt. Peppers CD (in the picture, Paul has his back to the camera), lyrics in certain songs, specifically A Day In The Life and I Am The Walrus and loads of other crap. It's all ridiculous but, nonetheless, it is interestingfunguy2121 said:"Paul is dead" is part of the Beatle's mythos. I think it started with Abbey Road. C.S. Lewis was raised a devout Christian, then became an Atheist, then re-converted.
I did know about the prop recycling, but the hump story is new. I miss Marty.StellarViking said:The movie Young Frankenstein used all of the original laboratory props from the first Frankenstein movie.
Also, Marty Feldman would shift the hump on his back from the left to the right without telling anybody, and when everyone else finally found out they decided to turn it into the "What hump?" gag.
