Eh, I've got one which is pretty good, but most Escapists probably already know of. Dark Souls, the sequel to Demon's Souls, originally was called Dark Race but changed due to fears of the name sounding racist to Dark Ring, but was changed to Dark Souls due to dark ring being slang in the UK for the anus.

Remember The Lion King? During Scar's song, Be Prepared, His voice actor lost his voice right after the line "YOU WON'T GET A SNIFF OUT WITHOUT ME!"; the voice actor of Ed the Hyena had to sing the rest of the song.

Adolf Hitler, who was in the German army during the first world war, never rose above Private first class, (or the German equivalent).
IIRC Hitler actually attained the rank of Corporal (Possibly Lance Corporal) during WW1, as a message runner I believe.

you know that one scene in Raiders of the Lost Arc with the Cairo Swordsman? you know, one of the most iconic moments in movie history? well, you can thank horrible, mind-blowing diarrhea for that cinematic gem. Harrison Ford was sick (bad dates?) and there was originally going to be a huge ass fight scene between Indy and the swordsman. fearing he might shit himself, Ford turned to Spielberg and Lucas and asked "can't I just shoot him?". they decided to roll with it. the swordsman swung his scimitar, Indy gave him a "you fuckin kidding me?" look, shot him right in the chest, and lo, movie history was made. Harrison Ford then dashed off the set into the nearest port-a-john before they even called cut. he apparently spent around a half hour in there.

There was no concrete script for the movie Iron Man.

Basically, RDJ and the other actors kept making changes while they were filming, so the script writers basically threw out the script and wrote just a general outline for each scene. The actors then did improvisation for every scene, except the action scenes.

That's my go to movie trivia.

The bird creature in the last book of The Chronicles of Narnia represents Lucifer, The Beast and The AntiChrist, and the book itself presents a more agnostic approach to Christianity.
i was actually surprised when i found out that whole series is about god and the devil and heaven. i would not have guessed that but ive only seen the movies :)
I think you'll find there's even more to it than that. http://www.narniacode.com/
To give a little more on it than jsut a link; the Narnia series has been criticized since its release for its seemingly slipshod way of putting a whole lot of different things together. If you read closely the books don't quite mesh together. Except that apparently they do with what some guy has discovered.

The movie Young Frankenstein used all of the original laboratory props from the first Frankenstein movie.

Also, Marty Feldman would shift the hump on his back from the left to the right without telling anybody, and when everyone else finally found out they decided to turn it into the "What hump?" gag.
I did know about the prop recycling, but the hump story is new. I miss Marty.
Now you can see him every day, just find a thread I posted in.

Here's a fact you might find interesting, Paul is NOT part of the blood and cornetto's trilogy.

Seth MacFarlane actually worked for Cartoon Network on several of the big-name shows of the 90's including Johnny Bravo, 2 Stupid Dogs, Cow and Chicken, and Dexter's Lab before going to FOX to start Family Guy.

Frank Welker is the only remaining original cast member of Scooby Doo who still voices the same character, Fred, a role he was forced to take by the network (he wanted to play Shaggy, and Shaggy's voice actor wanted to play Fred). He also now does Scooby's voice.

Frankly, I could go on with this kind of stuff forever. I'm pretty much a go-to guy when it comes to cartoon/voice acting trivia.

Arrested Development: 'Cross was originally trying for the role of Buster, and his and Tambor's characters were originally going to be thrown away.

Braveheart is a ridiculously factually incorrect movie. Mel Gibson abused artistic licence.

"Prima Nocta" ie. "First Night", the law where English lords could bed the wife of a Scotsman on the night of her wedding was not brought in by Edward, this was made up.

Braveheart was actually a title given to Robert the Bruce after his prowess in the wars of independence, not William Wallace.

Wallace would never, ever have met the queen, Edward II's wife. When Wallace was fighting these battles, she was an infant, so he most certainly did not get her pregnant.

That's to name but a few.

My personal favourite:
When asked by a local of Stirling why Mel Gibson took out the bridge in the scene of the famous battle of Stirling Bridge, he replied that it "got in the way". The local promptly replied "Aye, that's what the English found too".

I could rant about this one all day. The fact that there was a bridge in this battle was what made it possible to win. Wallace's forces were outnumbered by about 10,000 men, their forces largely built with poorly trained and equipped commoners, while the English army consisted of plenty heavy cavalry and trained foot soldiers. He was also joined by Andrew Moray in commanding his army.

They would not have won were it not for the narrow bridge crossing the Forth that the English were forced to cross before they could reach the Scottish forces. Wallace waited until just enough of the English forces that he felt the Scots could handle had crossed, then sounded the charge. The English were slaughtered - those on the Scots side could not retreat since the bridge was too narrow (two horses breadth) and the forces on the other side could do nothing to get over to help. The English forces were either killed, drowned trying to get away or fled as they helplessly watched their comrades get slaughtered.

Please excuse the massive rant, I just hate that movie so much. =.=

The film that is known to all people as being called Titanic, which cost a lot of money to make so I hear, is not as good as people who know the film by the name of Titanic would lead you to believe.

Is that better?

Big the Cat is Duke Nukem.
Coop from Megas XLR is the father on Wizards of Waverly Place.
Naruto Uzumaki is Gomamon from Digimon. ( the white and purple seal )

Omnimon from the Digimon movie had his name changed to Omegamon, for those of you who only know him as one of the two.

Star Wars was originally going to take place over the span of nine movies.

Aliens Vs Predators has some of the most egregious crossovers ever, including them fighting Batman, Superman, and the Terminators.

A myth has circulated that Godzillas Japanese name, Gojira ( meaning whale-gorilla ) was based on a tough guy at the Toho Studios.

Power Rangers is based on a japanese show called Super Sentai.

The White Ranger was from the sequel to the Japanese equivalent of Mighty Morphin. Season one was based on Zyuranger, season two's Zord footage was from a seperate series Dairanger, where they got the White Ranger from. Season three's footage was from Kakuranger, in Zeo they started the tradition of one Japanese series, one American.

Battlizers were an American concept before Japan started doing them as well. Also the Titanium Ranger was a completely American design.

Robots did not start appearing in sentai until Battle Fever J with the Battle Fever J Robo, and combining mecha did not appear until Chouji Sentai Liveman.

In Kamen Rider Kuuga each form has a non mentioned name. White is Growing. Red is Mighty. Green is Pegasus. Blue is Dragon. Purple is Titan. Gold trim signifies the Rising form of each. Black is Amazing Mighty. Black Armored is ultimate.

Most Kamen Riders feature a Spider as the first enemy, followed almost as often by a Bat.

Inside of the suit case in Pulp Fiction was a Spiderman Costume, the actors were not told in order to keep the surprise reaction.

Jason did not appear in the first Friday the Thirteenth, and didn't get the mask until the Third.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann means Heaven Piercing Crimon Face.
