Actually I did that and got a German porn video, and the German Porn Genre of what they specialize in.

Surprisingly, it was a game. I had to press buttons to Pause and play it. It was deleted in less than 5 minutes after playing.

Go to GOG.com, you can get both for $6 each, no DRM.

Or you can get them illegally and get a glitchy, unfinished, and probably virus filled file.
dought it... why do people always assume a pirated copy have something wrong with them???
Probably because in the 5 years I worked at geek squad 9 out 10 computers that came in with virus or problems with programs. They have limewire or bittorent or some other torrent /p2p system installed and when you ask them for a cd to reinstall the software or whatnot they usually say oh I just downloaded it I don't have a cd or anything.
remember 9/10 americans are idiots (sarcasm)
Then again you need to remember the people that are downloading torrents and seeding torrents are also in that 9/10 group and when downloading those torrents you have no way to check against that.

Because people are silly, it's do it my way or don't do it at all. That or they've never pirated something before, I have fallout 3 and I torrented it for free sure I have to wait 2 more days to get my DLC patches but I don't have to pay for mine.
So you are proud of pirating fallout 3 and proud that you kept money from a game company and development team that you must like if you are playing long enough to get the expansion packs. How would you like it if you came up with an amazing product that you spent 3 years and millions of dollars on with a bunch of other people and once your product was released you made no money off of it because everyone just decided to pirate it.

Oh, believe me I'm not assuming.
Yeah, it seems more like blindly and incorrectly guessing.
Yeah, you found me out. No way I'm speaking from experience and most games I've downloaded from major pirate sites have had graphic problems or freezing issues. *rolls eyes*
Clearly you aren't speaking from experience.
*sigh* I'm glad you know so much about me, tell me more things about myself I don't know!

I would say wow that sucks but I can't do anything to stop it. You need to learn to deal with the fact that some people pirate games and some people buy games. In an age when the only way to see if you enjoy the game is to play it. I rather dl it for free then spend 60 dollars to test a game.

Steam can not know illegal games that are not associated with steam.
Are you sure? I mean, I'm not fully sure about anything Steam can do, but that was one of the things I heard

See the problem is even after you have downloaded it and found that you like it you still have not given them the money for the game so you are not testing you are STEALING. Yeah it sucks when you get a junk game and payed the 60. But there is always renting games if you want to test it, also there are reviews a plenty on most games out there that can give you an educated guess on whether or not you will like the game. There are many videos on pretty much any game of in game play and story lines and such. All pirating/stealing games does it hurt everyone but the criminal that is doing it. Why do you think you have the right to play a game without paying for it. You do not need the games it is not required for you to play it. Games are entertainment if you want to play them then pay the guys that made them so that they will make more and have the funding to make better.

Sorry for the wall of text but piracy/stealing pisses me off to no end. Also yes pirating software is stealing by definition.

First reviews aren't as reliable as you say they are. When halo came out people loved it like it was giving out hand jobs and free candy, after playing it at a friends house because I didn't have an xbox and the pc version wasn't out yet, I realized it was utter shit and that stuff continues to this day so don't say it doesn't. Second, People commit crimes deal with it. Sure you can get all huffy but it isn't going to stop the murderers from murdering, it's not going to srop the thieves from stealing, and it's not going to stop the rapists from raping. While you're all up in arms the majority of the world doesn't give two shits if you got killed and eaten by cannibals. Also it's not just my right it's every ones right, nobody is twisting your arm telling you not to, you just choose not to. And even with the funding they made from XYZ it doesn't mean that XYZ 2 : The second coming of X is going to better then the first chances are it's going to be worse if not exactly the same with 2 new characters that oh boy have some piffy dialogue.

I am a torrent user, and on occasion have done so with games. However, tell me where else I'm going to come CLOSE to getting music from the 20's-40's, yea, that's right Big Band. None of the f-tard retail stores sell anything of REMOTE interest when it comes to Big Band music, so I'm left with little choice if I want to hear something authentic when it comes to the older music.

And according to the RIAA that makes me a pirate, just because I look to get something that I WANT that NO ONE ELSE wants to sell to me anymore, fuck the RIAA.

There are good and evil uses for torrents, and a hellva lot of gray area inbetween.

Trust me by no means am I saying that reviews are perfect which is why I said educated guess and also stated there are gameplay footage/story footage/videos of the game etc etc to help you make an educated guess on the games.
Yes people commit crimes but the difference is when people commit crimes and I see it I will turn them in for it. If I see someone murder or rob or steal from someone else you better believe that I will turn them in to the authorities. If I saw someone come on the escapist talking about how they murdered someone or raped someone I would definitely point the authorities to it to try and get them behind bars. The problem is there is nothing like that for this topic. Sure call me nosy I don't care but I am not prying into the affairs of others just to pry I am prying because it is hurting an industry that I love and would love to see continue to grow. But pirating is killing that industry.
There are very few small companies that can come up with the cash to create a full fledged game for systems out now and when they do they loose possible revenue due to people pirating it instead of buying it. Which stifles the creative processes. Even the bigger companies are stifled due to it why should they create new IP's when they know rehashing the old ones will at least get them the fans purchase where as if they create a new one there are no fans to purchase and half of the people that might like it pirate it to test it but never go out and buy it even if they like it.
Yeah sure I will not convert all the people but maybe one out of every one million people will read my posts and think about what they are doing by pirating. Maybe they will change their minds I know it is not a probable thing to happen but I will still try.

I saw F1, F2, and F:Tactics on disc for £10 in the UK.
It was in a small little games shop, I was gutted that I was £5 short, but its the 19th B-day coming up so Im sure my dear mother would buy it for me.

:) Bless her.

I pretty much just assume pirated copies of games are illegal and contributing to the ruination of not only societal mores, but the financial underpinnings of an industry about which I care very deeply. The fact that pirated games occasionally contain viruses, worms and keyloggers is just kind of ancillary to that, really.

For $6, I'll try them when I'm done with my replay of Diablo 2. Thanks. Although that could be a loooooooooooooong time.

Torrent there's a difference. If I didn't have the 60 dollars to spend they weren't gonna get it anyway. So at least they got some positive reviews from me, and I did convince people to buy the game.
