If true, then I guess I'm done playing Fallout. Even IF the XB1 wasn't crap, I doubt I'd get a second system just for one game.

Ignoring the fact that the Link goes to a website, that then links to a forum post about a rumour, the simple fact is that Microsoft would need to pay Bethesda the equivalent of all of the potential PS4 and PC sales of Fallout 4 - quite a large number, let's be honest. Unlikely.

In addition, Bethesda is owned by a publicly owned company. Their owner isn't going to sit quiet on a potentially multi-billion dollar deal with Microsoft. They're going to leak it out to increase their stock price. This hasn't happened.

That's a shame, I liked that series. If it's true then it's just too bad they don't like success and money.

I feel as if this "rumor" is specifically designed to garner more rage and hatred towards the Xbox one, as if it was really needed.

I can't see this happening at all. Mainly because it will anger me and a lot of other PC gamers and Bethesda would end up losing money because of it. If this does somehow turn out to be true I will boycott every Bethesda game from here on out.

A friend of mine said that the next Elder Scrolls was rumoured to be Xbone exclusive as well.

Of course, this is all definitely rumour at the moment, but it would be a hell of catch for the Xbox One if true.

But then what do Bethesda have to gain from making it exclusive? Surely they would make tonnes more money putting it on all the platforms possible.
Nah, I don't buy that. The PC version with its active modding community has always been the mainstay of the Elder Scrolls games. And Bethesda have been strong PC publishers for a very long time. I doubt there will ever be an Elder Scrolls game without a PC release. It might be exclusive to Xbone as far as consoles go, never appearing on PS4, but I can't see Bethesda destroying their best known franchise by keeping it off PC.

Bethesda's core audience is the modding community. Making a game that excludes the PC is suicide.

I could see it being a timed exclusive as in the game comes out first on that system but a pure exclusive? No I dont think so. For one the fallout modding community is huge and if you cant mod it on Xbone (no reason to believe you can even with their tech) then thats going to drive down the lifespan of the game. Bethesda knows that and while Bethesda may be a lot of things idiots is not one of them IMO. They experienced much longer life spans with Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3, and fallout New vegas all because of moding.

On another note, its also hard to track digital sales because Valve refuses to release the numbers from Steam. I dont think Desura, Impulse, Origin, or GoG have ever released their numbers either. Though I would be interested to see them

There is no logical way that would ever happen. Even if Microsoft paid Bethesda millions or billions just to get the one game to be an exclusive, they still wouldn't do it. It'd be suicide for the company.
If they got billions I'm pretty sure they would do it. That's some crazy money right there. I sincerely doubt it though. Bethesda have always made their games either multiple platforms or PC exclusive and they wouldn't block out and entire facet of their audience, it would be commercial suicide. Gamers are so easily infuriated and this would be a legitimate reason for them to get angry so I know that they won't do it to themselves. However if they are offered Billions, I suggest that they take it. Everyones christmas bonus would be insane.

No it isn't true..

Bethesda would never.. I mean never abandon their modding community on PC. Probably just your typical "timed DLC exclusive" bullshit.

Bethesda isn't that stupid. They just aren't. The modding scene on the PC is the lifeblood of both the Fallout games and Elder Scrolls, keeping the games alive and fresh long past release. They aren't going to pass on that to put out an exclusive on a platform with this much negative publicity.

It might be just a marketing ploy to make consumers want to buy the Xbox One. It would be nonsense if it were box One exclusive, as a large number of Fallout fans are PC users.

Ahahahahahah No. It would be REALLY stupid for them to do that. I mean, who would fix the broken ass game it will inevitably be if the modding community doesn't?

I kid. But seriously, they have a RABID following on the PC that keep their games alive and well years into the future. Hell people are still playing Morrowind because of the modding community.

Speaking of which how is Skywind going? I haven't been paying attention to it lately...

PS. my first post! Lurked for a looong time...

Well damn, I guess I have to get an xbone then. Oh well. It's not like I have a pc anyways, just a 360 and a mac.
Ahem

PC means Personal Computer. Is this Mac your Mac? Yes? You have a PC. Furthermore you can run windows on it natively with bootcamp. I can walk you through it if you want.
There's still a difference in terms of games available and hardware optimization. I use my mac to run music and video editing programs, so no thanks. I would like a how-to on wineskin however.

I'm either calling bullshit, or thinking that this might mean a microsoft deal, not to make it exclusive to Xbox 1 entirely. But exclusive to the PC and Xbox1. Meaning it wont be on PS3/WiiU their 'direct' competition.

Or it's timed exclusive DLC.

Or timed exclusive in general.

Are people stupid? Did you look at the slideshow on that link? They are all of Fallout:New Vegas, there is nothing there that looks like its from a new Fallout 4 game. lol

I doubt it, most it would be would be a 6 months exclusivity only. But its good for xbone buyers, fans of PS4 and PC will ***** and moan about evil MS. But thats what a good business does, it keeps its fans happy.....if Sony did this the sony fans wouldnt be moaning they are getting F4 first.

So there you go....it will be multi format. Probably PC/Xbone, then PS4 about 6 months down the line. Like they did with Skyrim and the DLC. Although i enjoy the people commenting that releasing F4 as an exclusive on Xbone makes them hate MS more and makes them more likely to not buy the Xbone. lol. Thats such backward thinking.
