Far Cry 3 Confirmed

FC2 wasn't all that bad, the Africa setting was a nice change of pace to some of the Generic Jungle FPS games.
Didn't much like the weapons jamming constantly. Mine always did, the enemies never did.

Far Cry 2 was a good game, nothing more, nothing less. Unlike however most good games you could see that there was an embryonic spark of a great game trying to get out. If they actually listen to what the community had to say about its flaws its possible they will make a great game.
However Far Cry 2 was a DEEPLY flawed game on so many design levels, so I'll live in hope, not expectation.

1: Make the enemy guard post respawn rate more reasonable (they respawn fastish if near to a city or large base, slower the further away they are, etc.)
2: Less malaria bullshit
3: Make it so that there's actually a faction system, and that infamy actually matters. (People treat you w/ more respect, fear, etc. Also, not everyone wants to kill you. The "oh you're doing this supersecret, so our guys will shoot at you" was a way to cover up laziness in coding a faction system.)
4: Add a bit more variation in missions. (I actually enjoyed the gunrunner missions, I loved setting up an ambush, leaving a car in the middle of the road as a roadblock, when the convoy stops, shooting the gun truck with an RPG, and hauling ass out of there.)
If Ubisoft does all this, they've got a winner. The driving and no loading screens (if you drove) was fun and immersive, seeing the environment change as you travel to different regions was great. I'd have liked there to be more animals though. There's so much potential in Africa as a setting.
Kind of like what they had to do w/ Assassin's Creed II.

Far Cry 2 was a game with a lot of problems. But you could play around them to an extent.
But what it did right, it did very right.
And what it did wrong, could be fixed.
Far Cry 2 is one of my favorite games this generation easily. If they fix it up (stuff people have described here) it could be a shoe-in for GOTY)

FC2 was a good game even though there was so many bad points.
1. Everyone wants kill you.
2. Everyone has perfect vision and can see through solid objects.
3. Everyone has perfect aim.
4. It seemed like everyone in that region of Africa was a soldier.

Exactly. I think Ubisoft took on loads of the feedback from gamers who hated AC's guts and made a far better game. So they should do the same with this...er, right...?DAVEoftheDEAD said:
