Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind ranks high in both categories.

Right now I'm loving reading Skip Beat!, though. Finding a fantastic anime to follow is something I've found quite hard recently, though.

Code Geass and .Hack at the moment until i get my Christmas anime which my mum misplaced because i got Trinity Blood, Black Cat, Speed Grapher and Ergo Proxy waiting for me and i can't say Bleach cause i live in Australia and we are only up to like episode 113 and i've only got downloaded up to 130 and i'm reserving my opinion to see just how long they'll drag out Izen's scheme to kill the royal family (so far he won't even try till after the 10th season from the looks of it)

Favorite manga: Dragonball. It's the only one I've got. Anime on the other hand, I've watch alot more. From those I've watched, my favorite anime would probably be Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherood. I never watched the entire first one, but I just couldn't stop watching Brotherhood. I was eager every week for the new episode to release, since i began watching it when it was only around episode 30.

I'll give a nomination to Gurren Lagann though, because it's soundtrack is killer, and I got really really sad when
Kamina died.
but Fullmetal Alchemist was a different kind of series for me, and unlike Gurren Lagann, which made me sad, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, was on the brink of making me cry.

Manga: Bleach. Would pick it for anime as well, but the current arc on [as] is crap, and i'm already past the main story on the manga.

Anime: Outlaw Star, without a doubt. If you're a fan of sci-fi, do NOT pass this up!

I think that there is SO much anime out there actually posing the question "What is your favourite?" is kind of ridiculous. Its like asking for your favorite song... I have to say though My favorite so far has been... it's actually kind of impossible for me to answer. the ones I've seen so far are Rozen Maiden, KnJ, Seitokai Yakuindomo, Love Hina, Azumanga Daioh, Ouran Highschool Hostclub and School Rumble. I think all of them have flaws, but all of them are also really good in their own way. LIke, really Good. If I were to review them I would give most of them 3(,5) stars, you know; worth watching, but you'll forget about it the next week. I have yet to see a Masterpiece, but then again I've only JUST gotten into anime, so I might not be a good "conneseur". My favorite right at this moment, is a tie between School Rumble and Seitokai, but that might change to Azumanga or anything else tomorrow...

That character looks vaguely familiar. I can't quite figure out where I've seen her before >.>

Favourite anime - Uhh.... *looks at avatar*
Close runners up include Darker Than Black, Full Metal Panic, Hellsing Ultimate and a few others I can't be arsed to list.

Favourite manga - Fruits Basket, Hellsing, Real, Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, Vagabond and a whole lot of various yuri oneshots and series.

Darker than Black - Incredibly underrated series, it didn't start out as anything special at first, but then I got more drawn in as the series progressed. I'm actually put off from watching the second series though, as I have heard very mixed things about it, and i'm afraid that it might dampen my love for the series.
The second season is.... not very good. I got about halfway through it before dropping it from lack of interest. I'll probably go back and finish it eventually, but it really is a piss poor sequel to the awesome that was Darker Than Black.

Sonic X

Code Geass, Berserk, Black Lagoon, Claymore, Toradora! (I know the last one seems out of place XD)

Manga: Berserk, Gantz (much better than the anime) and the aforementioned ones except for Code Geass and Toradora! mainly because I haven't read those yet.

I'm noticing a tendency of Nanoha fans to also like mecha anime... Admittedly, I like strategists and tacticians more than I like the strong, quiet type. Hayate Yagami is easily one of my favorite characters of all time. She gets a random group of four knights. One, Signum, says "We'll follow your orders. Just tell us what to do." Her response? Make them pose as family members in town for a cosplay convention. Which is useful for explaining their barrier jackets later on.

Also, in the movie and StrikerS, Nanoha herself comes into her own. She doesn't seem to be much of a tactician (Her tactics are essentially "shoot, shoot harder, and shoot more), but... Well, see for yourself.

Anime: Darker Than Black, Soul Eater and Big O

Manga: Rurouni Kenshin, Astro boy (gotta love the classics), Trigun and Hellsing
