I have watched very few animes of any sort. Though the one I did watch, Ghost in the Shell, was quite good.

I'm noticing a tendency of Nanoha fans to also like mecha anime...
Nanoha is pretty much Gundam with stronger character development and a distinct lack of world peace bullshit.

Also, in the movie and StrikerS, Nanoha herself comes into her own. She doesn't seem to be much of a tactician (Her tactics are essentially "shoot, shoot harder, and shoot more), but... Well, see for yourself.
Well, Nanoha isn't really the tactics type. Strategising is the specialty of other characters whilst she focuses more on the art of Starlight Breakering everything into submission.

That's the thing. The broken grammar is something that's just indicative of the weapons themselves. Hell, even in the dub, their English is still broken. I think it's supposed to be an aspect of the devices or t he language that they're speaking (English with wonky grammar and that sort of thing might indicate something similar to English, but a completely separate dialect).
Pretty much. And as for the Wolkenritter's devices, their magic system predates the TSAB itself, so they'd almost certainly speak some form of lost language. German seems to make for a pretty good ancient language in a mostly Japanese language series.

My favorite manga is Elfen Lied. Hell no for the anime, shorter, worse ending, etc...
Wasn't the manga never released outside of Japan (much everything else that's cool)? Or did you read it online? And if you did, where?!

OT: I'm quite fond of Ranma 1/2, Hell Girl, Sailor Moon, and more recently, El-Hazard.

I'm severely addicted to Naruto.
Also Bleach...but yeah this new arc just doesn't work yet.

Also Deathnote, cannot not mention Deathnote.
I still say they should have ended Bleach after the last arc ended. But I digress, we'll see how this one goes.

EDIT: OT Anime not sure, right now I'd have to go with Soul Eater, but Manga is a toss up between Rave Master, Fairy Tail and Hitman Reborn

Anime: Gurren Lagann, no contest.

Manga: I'd have to say Katekyo Hitman REBORN!, even though this new arc is starting to get on my nerves...
How so? I'm enjoying it Throughly, I don't mean to disuade you of your opinion I'm just curious.

On the manga side defiantly Demon Diary, though if Future Diary doesn't shit itself half way through then that could give it a run for it's money.

As for anime it's a toss up between Code Geass and Mai-Hime,both are excellent IMO

The TSAB seems to have more of a "Star Trek/Federation of Dimensions" feel to it. They don't seem to be too interested in peace, but are more interested in keeping order.

Well, Nanoha isn't really the tactics type. Strategising is the specialty of other characters whilst she focuses more on the art of Starlight Breakering everything into submission.
Fate is very much the same way. She mostly just hits things and is ridiculously fast. Really, the tactics types seem to be Signum (to an extent) and Teana (StrikerS character).

Pretty much. And as for the Wolkenritter's devices, their magic system predates the TSAB itself, so they'd almost certainly speak some form of lost language. German seems to make for a pretty good ancient language in a mostly Japanese language series.
I think that the creator did their homework, but decided to simplify it a bit. Both English and German are related in that they have the same base language. I believe that they were trying for a feel of a more ancient feel for the Wolkenritter's devices by using German and calling it a sort of "base" language.

My favorite anime would probably be Now and Then, Here and There. Not for weak of heart, this anime really went to places that were rarely explored upon in a serious light.

My favorite manga would be ... I'm not entirely sure... I'll just say Fullmetal Alchemist. It's an epic of the modern age, enough said.

Ergo Proxy ^^

I dunno why. It just all fits perfectly :D

Out of the ones I've seen:
Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni (and kai/rei)
Half of Texholyze
FLCL
Azumanga Daioh
Serial Experiments Lain
Sukisho
A few episodes of Minami-ke (which is essentially a shitty rip-off of azumanga :/)

And I'm watching Lucky Star and Gantz at the moment. Which is probably the biggest contrast in all of media.

And the only manga I've read were two very shitty hentais.

My favourite anime are FL CL, Baccano, and Trigun (runners up are Elfin Lied, and Full metal alchemist [sub]and Cowbow Bebop[/sub]) that's right you asked for my favourite and I wrote down six different things! But if you made me narrow it down to two it would be FL CL and Trigun, and the only reason it's these two is because I only just watched FL CL in the past couple months (but of course I've only gotten into anime in the past few years i.e since joining the escapist, so it's not like I'm that sentimental to Trigun it's only the 2nd anime that I've watched after decideing that it was 'okay' to watch anime. Man I used to be truly ashamed of watching anime ever. I remember watching zatch bell during the last days of toonami with the volume of the tv down to one with my ear against the tv and the tv pointing towards a wall.)
and the only manga I've read in recent times is Gantz, so it's that by default (but I stopped reading after main guy won and forgot everything and his boring girlfriend came back to life (I'm so petty)). I also liked Bakumon. To be honest I don't have the attention span for reading on going manga. I don't know How I followed Naruto (It was good before the time skip) untill the end of pain!

I'm gonna pick something I shouldn't and say the English dub of Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo.

No, just kidding, though it was very funny and well done.

For anime, I haven't actually watched all of Death Note yet, I've seen the recap movies and the complete series is being shipped to me at the moment, but I haven't seen the series yet. The plot is just so well written and the characters are so interesting that it's probably the best anime I've ever seen, even if it's a bit nihilistic and doesn't really have an important moral or anything.

Also, obviously Evangelion. And Elfen Lied made me WEEP. Case Closed/Detective Conan is another good one, but it probably declines in later episodes, I've only seen the first season. Oh, and Haruhi. Call me gay but that one was entertaining as hell.

As for manga, I haven't really read anything that wasn't also turned into an anime, so I don't really have much to comment on that.

There's a lot of anime I need to watch, like Excel Saga and whatnot, but I haven't gotten around to doing it yet.

Favorite manga... not 100%, but off the top of my head, AIKI. The main character is simply amazing, he doesn't give a crap what you think and does everything his way. I have more favorites but I really don't have it organized.

Favorite anime is....I'd stick with Texhnolyze. Ridiculous psychological story here

Wait, you stopped there?!

By god that's where the manga goes full blown crazy. Right after that is the Osaka story arc and it is RIDICULOUS. Seriously, skip maybe ten chapters ahead and read the Osaka story arc, because Masaru becomes such a badass there.
