The end of Blade Runner[i/].

Marv in Sin City
.

In Titanic[/i] when the guy falls off the boats stern and hits the propellar on the way down. More of a random death than a death scene , but still farking great.

L and Light's deaths. Light specifically - I was so disappointed in him.
L's death is my favorite main character's death. Light wins, L solves the case before he dies, everyone wins. Light's death was just sad because of how ungraceful it is. I really wish Light would have died with some dignity.

Actually, I think this is the most awesome (extended) death-scene from a movie. Ever.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8_dY4rpjOc

Mainly for the duel leading up to it - because holy hell, that's something I think is fairly unique to the movie world. Would have been better if it was all GrimDark and futuristic and not comic, but ah well - them's the breaks.

Well, in The Talisman
Wolf's death was the first fictional character's death that made me cry. For about a whole day.

Mind you, I was around 12, but still, it affected me.

Crisis Core

Zack's death.

Final Fantasy 10

Tidus' death. The running jump and high-fiveing Jecht was awesome.

Gallipoli

Archie's death. How fast can you run? As fast as a leopard. How fast are you gonna run? As fast as a leopard. Then let's see you do it! Running and getting gunned down, the camera freezes.

Lelouch's death was also incredibly depressing, because he was my favourite character...but it was awesome.

Man, everyone's name starts with an "L."
WHY L!!!!!!
light's death was very stasfying to me. (probbly i live seeing the antagonist getting his, especaly if he kills my favorite character.)
i love gannon's death in Whind Waker.
the game started out as cute and childesh then got darker, and darker, and darker untill finaly gannon gets a sword planted and then watered in his brain.
loved it.

Dude! Some people are still watching Death Note! Thanks for the spoiler.

It's all right. I used to have a bad habit of casually spoiling games and movies, but I'm trying to get better at it.

that was a truly emotional death.
yet a great plot device!!!
I was pretty amazed by it. I didn't think he would be one of those characters you can kill off. I agree that it was an excellent plot device. It fits perfectly for Naruto's future inspiration and training.

Death Note was unique for me. It was a nice set up, but I didn't have any attachment for Light and L. It was a big chess game with the loser dying. I appreciate both character's determination to outwit one another, but that's about it. The quick flash backs of L's life prior to his death didn't win any points from me.

Code Geass.... that left a lump in my throat. The last few episodes took you on an emotional roller coaster ride. I couldn't decide if Lelouch was admirable or just an ass. In the death scene, I felt bad for Nunnally more then for Lelouch. But she also brought back his humanity when she forgave him. He knew he was going to have to die, but it was all for his sister.

Watch Gran Torino to the end. You'll understand.

Clint Eastwood takes his lighter out of his pocket. The gang he's confronting thinks that he's drawing a gun, and shoots him, earning all of them a one-way ticket to prison.

[small]Yes! First working spoiler tag![/small]
Can't go wrong with a Dirty Hairy Death, though LEFT4DEAD moments make me yell in destructive maddness. They have does "DAMN IT!." moments.

Nicholas Wolfwood in Trigun (anime)

The fact that he actually died holding a massive cross screaming "I did not want to die this way" kind of stuck with me

Plus you know all the revelations he made and the music during his final moments

Deaths I cheered for: The Mist, District 9, Silent Hill (movie), Quarantine

Religious ***** in The Mist. Seriously, the entire theatre started cheering.

Wheelchair leader of the weapons gang in District 9. Just awesome. Fired some kind of probe into his head that blew his entire body up.

Pretty much all the townspeople in the church at the end. I felt Alessa was justified in doing it at that point.

Noisy reporter girl at the end. FINALLY! Thank you movie. She was so useless by the halfway point.

Deaths that made me sad: Fushigi Yuugi, FFVII, FFX and FFX-2, Persona 3, Lord of the Rings (movie)

Nuriko in Fushigi Yuugi. Man, I bawled my eyes out. I haven't actually seen the other deaths, though I do know who else dies. But that one still gets me.

Aeris in FFVII. Probably because of the music more than anything else, but I remember crying a little.

Tidus in FFX. Bawled again. Many people don't like FFX-2, but I was really glad for the closure it gave. One of the few times I really wanted a happy ending. Speaking of FFX-2, Leene and Shuyin's death scene while Yuna's singing 1000 Words really hit me. Their expressions just said so much, that kind of sad but resigned "Well, it was good while it lasted" look.

Shinjiro in Persona 3. I hate, hate, hate it when games kill off one of my playable characters. I might mention Chidori here too. Not so much that I liked her, but Junpei was my favorite character, and it was hard to see his heart broken like that.

Boramir in Lord of the Rings. I was already crying because I thought Gandulf was dead, then when Boramir finally redeems himself, he gets shot with not just one, but multiple arrows.

Anyway, Light was the protagonist!
You were supposed to root for him, not against him.
Yeah, it's a shame how he went all crazy-mode at the end, there. If he had played it a bit differently at the end, he might've lived.
Just because Light was the protagonist doesn't mean we have to root for him. This is the first series I have seen where the readers decides who they want to root for; rather than having it decided for us by getting it shoved down our throat.

Ryuk was going to kill Light anyway. Ryuk even says it himself. I am just sad that he did lose his composure and went psycho.

yea... i have already said i was sorry and will accept lashes on the morrow.
now as for light.
Death Note blurred so many lines and played so many tricks on the brain and even its on plot, yhat it was hard not to love/hate all the main characters.
But i vew Light as the antagonist because even though his cause was a just and he truly wanted good, as time wnt on he started killing innocents and then just anybody he thought got in his way. his ego and fear started to consume his true motives and he began abusing his powers destroying his own life and those of the ones he loves.

Oh yeah, I remember that. That left me a bit empty inside. At the time, I was wondering what my gf was crying about since I started the series a few years later.
