Favorite Fallout 3 Weapon

Since I like too many guns to count I might as well go with the gun that has saved my butt in a lot of situations. That would be the humble 10mm Pistol. It has a 12 bullet clip and is the first weapon you get. While the other weapons do have more power and better clip sizes the first 10mm Pistol I got would preform miricals for me. I had low health, no stimpacks and saw an enemy with full health about to finish me with a grenade. I entered VATS mode and saw I only had a 1% chance of hitting the grenade and used all my 4 shots since it was my last hope. First bullet hit the grenade and killed the enemy which allowed me to take his weapons, armor, ammo, and other stuff, fast travel back home, sell the loot, buy the workbench for my house and heal without having to do everything over again.

So far, I'm really liking the Hunting Rifle because of it's reliability and damage, and the short amount of time I've had my SMG has been fantastic. Grenades are good fun too, as are landmines.

I like the Fat man, but it's become a sort of "I might need it later" weapon that I've only used twice in my 20 or so hours.

Dubious honours to the Super Sledge. Easier just to keep whatever gun I've got out than use it.

Search Grouse (the first guard at the gate of Paradise Falls) for it. He's the guy that says you can't get in unless you bribe him or bring him slaves.

1st Place Lincoln's Repeater- Super plentiful ammo, damage is excellent as well as accuracy.
2nd Place Combat Shotgun- Overall usefullness when fighting multiple enemies at close range.
3rd Place Shishkebab- Seriously, a sword with fire whats not to like.

Has anyone found the other special hunting rifle "Ol Painless" yet

Yeah, I got it, it's in a safe at The Republic of Dave, it's really not that much better then the normal one

1. Hunting Rifle, it's a classic and it's been with me for most of my game so far and hasn't steered me wrong yet. Headshotted a raider at fairly close distance and all their limbs exploded. <3 Bloody Mess perk.
2. Combat Shotgun for when multiple enemies get close.
3. Scoped .44, at the moment I don't have nearly enough ammo for it coming in to use it regularly which is a damn shame as I quite like it. Were the ammo slightly more available it might take the top spot over the Hunting Rifle.

The named chinese assault rifle has served me well so far. Abe Lincolns rifle is nuts. Amazing damage and it looks pretty. The combat shotgun is particularly fun when you lure some enemies around a corner, VATS it up real good, and get some tasty headshots at point blank range.

Since it's my first play through I'm focusing on guns mainly and planning on making a melee ninja person for the second play. *can't wait to use the Shishkabob or Deathclaw*

Also, Favorite Weapon would defintly have to be sniper rifle if I ever find ammo for it.

My second favorite is the Sniper Rifle, taking off peoples heads from a distance has never been so satisfying, and I can get all the ammo I need for it in stores.

Only disadvantage it has that keep it from being my primary favorite is that it's condition drops by about about ten percent with every two mags that I use, and sense the rifle itself is rare, that means I have to pay for both it's repairs and the ammo just so I can use it.

Surprised no one has mentioned the Power Fist. That is very enjoyable, especially if you catch a Raider up close. Ooh, the gory goodness.

As for a ranged weapon, I'm partial to the Hunting and/or Sniper Rifle.

Have you found "Fisto!"? I think it's the best unarmed weapon in the game.
