A tie between The Terrible Shotgun and Abe Lincolns repeater. Both awesome weapons, specially in VATS. Once you get small guns up you almost always hit, and they used together rip anything short of a behemoth apart.

Of course, I also like the sniper rifle. Being able to sit a few hundred feet away and pick guys off is pretty cool. I just recently got that thing to work properly.

I like to carry a believable amount of weapons.
Laser weapons are useful in the normal game, key advantage is amazing accuracy (out of vats), no bullet drop and ability to start fires in gas from safety. In vats they generally use less action points. I currently use the "Wazer Wifle", I can shoot that 6 times in vats (probably possible to fire more), allowing me to inflict a lot of damage to a single enemy or kill a lot of weaker enemies at once.

The scoped gauss rifle has only got an ammo capacity of 1, not 10. It is awesome, but not that awesome.The Amazing Orgazmo said:

A lot of people have mentioned the Chinese Assault Rifle, but few have mentioned the Xuanlong Assault Rifle. You know, the "unique" version of the C.A.R.
Also, has anyone else noticed that the reloading animation for the Chinese Pistol is REALLY bloody cool?
I don't really like the pistol itself, but it just looks so AWESOME.
My second favorite weapon besides my Chinese friend is probably my Scoped .44 Magnum, just because it's good at everything. You don't find a lot of ammo for it, but you don't really NEED to. It handily removes bodies from their respective heads at 100 feet with nary a need for messy ammo scavenging and stressful trips to the Rivet City Marketplace.

When I'm feeling like a sneaky bastard, I love using the dart gun and hiding until my enemies are drained of all of their health (plus you often get to see the dart in it's trajectory in VATS which is really cool.

Flamer... I Roasted Half the wasteland and hardly needed to repair it... Too bad fixing it is a ***** without a spare flamer in my inventory. Then comes

I love the hunting rifle. Especially when vats follows the bullet. God that game is so awesome!
The Wazer Wifle. It has a funny name, and has killed more creatures in my hands than every other weapon combined.
