If my avatar wasn't enough of a give away, this guy right here. That's right, good old Optimus Prime.
Seconded. Prime is my hero. I was just the right age for G1 and it made quite an impression.

I see strong showings from GlaDOS and the Daleks. Have to agree.

How about those bots from MST3K?

And don't forget about MechaGodzilla.
Finally someone says what I had in mind. I thought MechaGodzilla was one of the classic robots which made it a surprise it took so long for it to be mentioned. But with that in mind, I'll go with these babies:

It could only be goal post head himself, Kryten.

Honourable mentions to Marvin, Clank and R-110 from Timesplitters Future Perfect

R-One-Oh-Seven.

Gotta love that state-of-the-art cardboard finish and dark lycra exterior.
Good choice! Nothing deflects laser blast better than cardboard armour of the R One Oh Seven unit :p

Other than Deathtrap (which made me love Borderlands 2), I have to say Adam 5 from X-Play since that was one of their best themed episodes.
