This will be... interesting? The whole no-budget approach worked well for Doctor Horrible, and presumably for The Guild (I never watched it) but it's going to be tough to pull off a serious fantasy series without a decent budget. I mean, the promo shot looks like it came from that WoW porno, and the fact that she's planning on playing a snarky character with "modern sensibilities," whatever that means, doesn't sound too terribly promising to me. I'm going to reserve judgment until the series launches, but I'm not especially optimistic.

Not gonna lie, she irritates the hell out of me.

She isn't a great actress at all and I don't even like Dragon Age either so, this is a rather negative post over all.
But that's good news then.
Weak actress + weak franchise = nothing you need to care about.

She's decent on the Guild but I doubt she has the acting chops to pull off a more serious role.
Go watch Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along-Blog, see if your opinion changes.
I've watched that. She was the weakest link. But it's not hard to be the weakest link starring alongside Nathan Fillion and NPH.

Still, she's really not that great an actress. And poor actresses make bad fantasy movies/tv.
She is cute though.
OK, fair enough.

Aside: Anyone else here seen Felicia Day in The Legend of Neil on atom.com? http://www.atom.com/channel/channel_legend_of_neil/

My brother will be mostly interested. Aye, for one, will not be.

Well, we're not creepy symmetrical twins! ...

Now that would be hilarious in DA. Can YOU handle two [insert annoyances here]?

Wow, this might actually make me interested in Dragon Age.

Maybe.

I do like Ms Day, loved the Guild and her performance in Doctor Horrible, and I like fantasy media, so I can say I'm looking forward to this even if it is set in a universe I've never quite gotten on with.

Well... I hope they are going for a corny/funny vibe.

Dragon Age, as a web series - it's just going to look a little cheap I expect. And if they go all dramatic and serious, I think that's going to look pretty stupid.

I don't mean to make this sound sarcastic, but you can almost make a mad libs of "Felicia Day to Star/Cameo in ______ Web Series".

She's turning into the Jennifer Hale of web shows.

I have trouble seeing Day as a hardcore elvish assassin...

Her characters have all been too quirky and the mental image just wont form...

To me dragon age felt pretty thin on the narrative/character aspect. I don't feel they need to chase a high dramatic bar, so I'd have to agree on a more lighthearted approach. That said I don't want something so drowned in MMO/chatspeak, that I groan at it's "internets".

The reason MMOs, don't get called MMORPGS, is because role-playing a chathappy "internet" rambling on about leroy jenkins, nubs, and the lawlz, shatters any suspension of disbelief and immersion into the fiction. The Guild was based on this, but I'm not interested in The Guild reskinned as Dragon Age.
