People, online surveys = Data mining. The title "survey" is misleading because it is most definitely -not- anonymous. Even a non-profit like the Themis group (the company behind The Escapist) has some veeery shady data acquisition policies. And that's considered normal.
That pretty much sums up what I think too. When it's too good to be true, that's because it IS too good to be true!

I'm not saying this is a scam, but if it were a scam it would go something like this:

They ask you to fill out "personal information" forms to "qualify" you for the surveys that supposedly pay. Miraculously after filling out 20 pages of intrusive questions you don't qualify for any surveys. Company harvests your personal information and "doesn't rent, sell or share" except with "qualified business partners (spammers).

There is no such thing as a free lunch.

Hmmm... Made an account but I'm a little wary about the ammount of information they are asking for... What the hell does my annual pretax income have to do with games?!? Think I'm gonna pass.
It gives them an idea on the average income etc, no point offering games for $100 USD if people cant afford them for more then $20 USD for example.

So I signed up and 100% completed the profiles. Giving a lot of information.

No profiles available so far and no music. I'm not saying it's a scam, I'm just suggesting that some instant verification that this thing does what it says would be nice.

So uhh, where's my free music? I signed up, filled out my profile, and I haven't seen note #1.

Being out of work, this looked like a great deal, but having filled our 100% of the info, and not having qualified for anything makes me worry...give it a day or two then delete account, if nothing comes up.

Hell, I care not wether or not some capitalist knows my personal data, so a free CD and possibly more is enough to make me fill out their forms.

Speaking of the CD, though, how do I get that?

I too have not qualified for anything, but that's not surprising since all their questions are only applicable to Americans.

Although they say it doesn't matter where you live, they only seem interested in people who use American products and companies, in America.

I've got a feeling that all my true answers of "other", "not applicable" and "none of the above" aren't going be looked upon too favourably when it comes to offering surveys, and by extension the chance to get free stuff.
