This sounds too good to be true.
Ah, yes, someone nailed it.

All market surveys are done to make money off consumers, not to pay them vast amounts of cash. Very little will be awarded if any to the thousands that will do the surveys. I hate to sound like a negative Nancy but that is the truth.
Market research is a hugely beneficial market to be in. If you can get companies information they need, you get huge payouts. but no one wants to fill out surveys for free.

I said as much in a thread in the members section, every inch of common sense I have gained on the internet over the years says this is a scam.

I trust the Escapist but I'm not touching this with a 9 foot poll.
It isn't a scam. As I said above, people need market research, but people aren't willing to do loads of surveys like this with no reward. The people who hire this company to get people to fill out these surveys would pay VGM a lot of money. You're talking at least tens of thousands, probably more. These sorts of places make revenue through it, and in order to attract customers they have to offer rewards.

I did work experience a few years ago, and I worked at a place that sent you sweets as an incentive for doing surveys and such.

So no, it definitely isn't a scam. And the pricing is per survey. I got the offer to do an half hour survey for £0.60. You're not going to make a lot of money, and VGM is.

I have to admit, this seemed to eery for me after some of the really sensitive questions they asked.
I cancelled my account, and they said I could still reactivate it if I wanted to... Which means they can still get my info if they wanted to... which is a little unsettling.

I trust the escapist enough to know that it wouldn't lead me astray, and I even trust that the survey group won't contact me again or use my personal information in any harmful way, but the whole thing just gave me an uneasy feeling.

Ok, so I signed up and tried to take a survey. After I completed it VGM Surveys redirected me to Clear Voice surveys (the sites look identical). So after trying to sign-in repeatedly and failing, I created an account on Clear Voice...now neither site acknowledges the survey I took. Yay scams.

I should note that I trust the Escapist, but I don't like being redirected to clone sites.
Same shit happened to me with the general survey. But the technology one works. I tried another one, but no luck, so now I just hope I get accepted into a survey, cause all I nave is that .50 credits coming to me.

*Edit*

OH SHIT! I just took the Digital Camera survey and said someone else baught and used the camera, and it finished the survey giving me only.10. Should have just lied...lol

I'm kind of lazy. Plus I'm mot gonna be here for a week, so I don't know if I'll sign up until I get back. Plus I just don't like taking surveys, lol.

While I don't usually touch stuff like this ever, I trust you guys. Hope that this really isn't a scam. But hey, I'm just a skeptic when it comes to most things(namely everything).

Spinwhiz already said, it'll be within 48hours-for the music. You have to do surveys to earn money. Or win contests.

Sounds like too many people aren't part of survey sites lol Not everything is a scam people. The place is totally legit, you won't get to many surveys at the beginning, they'll probably email you once you get new ones. They ask you a lot of the same questions a lot too, since it's for different market research places. You won't get a lot of money for it, you're just participating in free polls that give a little money.

As for me I'm not signing up cause I'm already part of a survey site group and probably get an Itunes or gamestop gift card once in a while.

As someone who is paranoid and has been burned a few times on scams I think I'll hold off. I trust the escapist a lot but...I think I'll wait to see how this all goes down before going near it. So far it seems like the questions are invasive and the site is a bit shifty...

The Escapist sure seems paranoid today.
We're all afraid of losing our identities because the Escapist went turncoat.
Although the privacy policy kind of quells my fears a little
A LITTLE
" * We will not make any personal information of our participants available to anyone without your knowledge (as described in this policy), except in the rare instances required by law. This includes your name, e-mail address, zip code, age, and gender.
* We will never try to sell you anything - that is not our business. We will never sell your name to anyone else who might want to sell you anything.
* Your individual responses to surveys will also be kept confidential and will never be linked to your personal identifying information.
* Your decisions about participating in a study, responding to specific questions, or discontinuing participation will be respected without question.
* When you register for the invitation list, we collect the following personal identifying information: your name, age, gender, zip code, and email address.
"
Edit: And just incase this goes to court or something, printed and stored the documents.

So I think we crashed their site? Or we're at least putting them way over capacity. Which is funny considering all the nay-sayers on this thread.

I decided to try it, so let's see what happens. I gave them nothing unique about me but name and address which is publically available. I answered most questions, though not doing the health ones.

Will we suffer?
