Ok, so I signed up and tried to take a survey. After I completed it VGM Surveys redirected me to Clear Voice surveys (the sites look identical). So after trying to sign-in repeatedly and failing, I created an account on Clear Voice...now neither site acknowledges the survey I took. Yay scams.
Alot of people got that, I think its because one of the surveys is broken. I took the others and have earned .60$ but still haven't gotten any more invites to any other surveys. So escapist I know you guys aren't trying to scam me, but do you know if this company is trying to scam you?

I had faith in The Escapist, like many of my Escapist brethren, but now not being able to access the sight I am draped in a blanket of caution. I've been spam-scammed before, there lies dormant a dangerously maxed out inbox on an old '@msn.com' account and I'd hate for my new one to go South too.

I'm taking Spinwhiz' word that this is legit, but if I get a piece of junk mail before I get a survey, it's curtains. I shall be displeased Esapist!

This notion right here, this has me worried.

Hmm. After filling out all the profiles 100% and receiving no survey invites, the site is now mysteriously offline.

"Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete, just like the survey reward redemption process."

The plot thickens.
Delete your cookies. Worked for me.

I had the same experience. However it seems that VG market usually redirects to consumers surveys. I doubt this is a problem with VGMarket but instead with the site they directed us to(still bad but not scam). Just to confirm my suspicions I tried another survey that directed to a different site and after completion I was given credit. This means that some of them work and some don't.

Just in case you need proof here's a pic.(pending just means it has to wait for the survey to close).

I will be waiting for them to suggest surveys themselves instead of trying the ones that they say might work.

I said as much in a thread in the members section, every inch of common sense I have gained on the internet over the years says this is a scam.

I trust the Escapist but I'm not touching this with a 9 foot poll.

This sounds too good to be true.
Ah, yes, someone nailed it.

All market surveys are done to make money off consumers, not to pay them vast amounts of cash. Very little will be awarded if any to the thousands that will do the surveys. I hate to sound like a negative Nancy but that is the truth.

Some get kinda personal. I tried to be as vague as possible, but they want you address and cell phone number.

Okay, answers are in:

How exactly will you know if we signed up? (cause I did)

You will get an email very shortly confirming your registration

Can I take the surveys without signing up? (don't care about money and prices just want to state my opinion)

No, you must sign up

So, the only way to get reward money, outside the US, is to have a MasterCard?

VGMarket pays you with a pre-paid mastercard full of money when you redeem

How do we get our (hopefully) pretty noises (Music CD)?

They will email everyone a link and a code to get the CD within 48 hours

When and how do I start? (taking surveys)

People should continue to login to their dashboard on VGMarket Surveys and they?ll see new opportunities as well as be alerted via email when a survey opportunity is available for them

How does this work for people under 18, as I am not eligible to handle credit card matters or such?

You have to be 13 or older to register. There is no credit card necessary, VGMarket never asks any payment info

Nice, but I don't understand why everyone needs a registration with a full name, address etc.

They need the registration info to know which surveys to send you and to provide their clients with quality assurances (it?s a market research requirement that survey-takers be registered users)

Now I'm not even being allowed back onto the webpage. I'm feeling either very stupid for
myself or my internet, which one is it?

May just be due to over-crowding. Please try again later.

When a survey is filled out, does it show up on our account instantly, or does it take time?

It will show up as ?pending? in the account and you?ll see the pending and earned rewards in your rewards balance

The registration information is kept completely secret, nobody will ever see and they do not under any circumstances sell that or give it away. The answers participants give to surveys belong to VGMarket clients but clients will not be given their names with the answers?so the answers participants give will never be traced back to them.
Looks good, Ill sign up right away! thanks for verifying

I should note that I trust the Escapist, but I don't like being redirected to clone sites.

I'll bet that one company contracts with the other for use of the sofware and theres some sort of bug.. VGM is legit though, I've worked with them locally before (like sat down with their employees in a focus group setting. This looks similar to their main site (www.vgmarket.com) so.. I'll bet its just them trying to get into the online survey market.. (since Clear Voice seems to be a general survey company that works in many industries) Smart way to go by using The Escapist as a spring board.

Also, looks like they have a facebook group: http://www.facebook.com/vgmarket

The fact that the link here routes us the the standard VGMarket registration page, and not an escapist specific page has me... somewhat concerned. There's no way, during the registration process, to indicate that you are an Escapist member or that you were referred through the escapist.

Feels like a scam to me.

Also: did anyone else notice that the registration confirmation email comes from clear-voice and not VGMS?

I believe pre-paid credit cards function differently to normal credit cards.

Its a variable passed in the url. The link it sends you to is http://www.vgmarketsurveys.com/?campaign=escapist

That campaign=escapist part is what lets The Escapist get credit. :)

I guess I'll give it a spin. The Escapist never lied plus I can do it if I'm in NZ!
