It's the greatest hits edition, look on Estarland.com, they're half the reason I'm broke all the time, because they sell classic games and I'm a sucker for it. They're actually the reason I don't buy into the PSN bullcrap, I want to actually own the game not just a rip. Though PSN I guess is handy for those rare ones.
Edit: If the game is 10 bucks on the PSN it'd probably be better to get it on there if you just want to play the game. Honestly I'm a stingy collector so if I get a game I want everything, cover, manual, discs the works.
I was thinking that the entire time I was reading these comments. They're just re-releasing all the PS games, I really don't see why anyone wouldn't see this coming.
THANK YOU SONY! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I love you guys so much! Finally, I have a reason to play my PSP besides SOCOM and GTA. I own IX, my personal favorite, but I can't play it because I lost my PS1 memory card. With this, I can finally play it on the go. Now I can finally know how it ends. Stupid memory card...
I look forward to its release so I can play and finish it. I emulated it a while back but didn't get too far into it due to computer troubles and never had the will to replay it since. So I might as well fork over 10 bucks and a gig of memory space for it, I'd like to finish the game and see how it fares among the other FFs I've played. Hopefully it comes rather sooner than later, and I pray that they release even more of their titles later like FF anthology and chronicles, Vagrent story ect..
I still have hard copies of FF7, 8, and 9 somewhere in my residence. Never did got back to playing them ever since I got a PS2 about 6 years ago, though. I wonder if they're still playable?...
At first, I could not see how Garnet/Dagger would be an Aeris wannabe until you pointed out that it was in terms of popularity. That, I guess I can understand.
By the way, for the record, I think Dagger looked better with short hair than with long hair. ^_^
Anyway, yeah, I did enjoy FF9 quite a bit... even though its card game Tetra Master was a total ***** to understand. Triple Triad from FF8 wasn't that bad, come to think of it, but Tetra Master...UGH.
Oh. One nice touch about FF9 was, what other game lets you use a Tent in the middle of combat? AND use it on your enemy in the hope of inflicting poison, blindness, and silence?
So, FF9 bound for PSN? That would be good news for those who have yet to experience it.
That said, that will make one little task somewhat more difficult:
Acquiring Steiner's ultimate weapon, the Excalibur II.
To do so, you have to nearly the end of the game's final dungeon before the game play clock reaches 12 hours. Playing from the discs, you could open and reclose the disc reader to skip the FMV's and save some time. Unless they make it possible to skip the FMV's or extend the deadline to reach the point to get the Excalibur II... I don't know, getting that sword will be tougher now...
Here here! And not just like, some port of the PS1 re-release. I want an HD upgrade that takes advantage of the ps3's processing power (cause the PS1 version has a tinny tiny loading moment before every battle, and it was slowly noticeable over time). :3 These are things I want, anyway. Hardly things I'll get, I'm sure.
I've never played FF9, so I can't say if it's a good place to start. But I have friends that liked it, and its story. Why haven't you partaken in the golden glory that was the heyday of Final Fantasy? I would recomend the ones currently available on the PSN (FF7 and 8, 7 being my choice), if you feel you need an experience ne-yow.
