Oh FFIX, how you traumatized me all those years ago... I finally got a used copy of you (because a new one would have cost me almost 100 Euros), had ridiculous amounts of fun playing you - and then you croaked on me at the beginning of disc 4. After all the hours I put into you, you heartless *****... *bursts into tears*
Seriously, I don't know if I can go through it all again. I was so far along and then I got stuck because the final disc had an unfixable blemish that would make the game crash during a certain scene. I feel like crying just thinking about it.
FINALLY. I've been waiting for this news forever. I have a hard copy, but it'll be nice to download it to my PSP (assuming it'll be PSP-friendly like FFVII and FFVIII) and play it while travelling/sitting in my living room while my sister watches her crappy soaps.
I really enjoyed what I could get through of FFIX. There were a lot of things going on for me personally back in the day, and this might get me to sit down and play it, since my PS3 can't play the disks that are on my shelf... (damn you Sony)

However, Sony, when are you going to either put Legend of the Dragoon on PSN or remake it with next gen graphics?
Wasn't that an AWESOME RPG? I really wish someone would continue that story or at least remake it on next gen hardware, those dragon suits would look awesome full rendered on the PS3.
Not true. Not all games on PSN are available on the PSP Go, and they are also not released on all regions at the same time (or in some regions not at all). I'm still waiting for Silent Hill: Shattered Memories and Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles in Europe, and for a lot of the PSOne Classics as well.

FF9 was,and always will be, my favourite final fantasy game, it was the first one i ever played and i sunk most of my childhood into compleating it more times than i care to mension.
Ah, how I love FFIX. Got the disks thankfully, and not a PS3 or PSP. The first one I completed as well. I don't appreciate the lack of appreciation for this game, complaining that it's different and too old-school. That's the best thing! I hate how *all* Final Fantasy games are technological based, rather than magic-focused.
Also, like with the twins in FF4, Galuf intentionally sacrificed himself, which seems to matter. You could kinda make the argument that Aerith did, but it still doesn't excuse the fact that no-one even tried to res her.
Most RPGs work on 2 layers of fiction the fiction of the world/story and the fiction of the battle/combat some RPGs try to explain it away while others ignore/avoid it.
I dunno both had a cause to desperately fight for, both are better rear row magic geared fighters.

I dunno I am more annoyed with the lack of solid gameplay design in FF5,7,8,10,X2 and 12 than the tech focus of it. Tho 5's failing is more to do with the mix and mash story the gameplay itself was rather fun if not a bit generic(would love it if they made one more like tactics skill system,a mage with a cross bow or axe is AWESOME stuff ) and FF7 had some issue with gamepaly I didnt care for as it pushed the series away from solidly built individual classes, which FFX fixed but the rest of the game was horribly dumbed down..... and in FF12 the level design was there but skill and equipment was dumbed down... and FF13 every fkking thing is dumbed down..........
