My inner fanboy feels much better, 360 players get to share Final Fantasy with Playstation owners but their 360 has to go back to the old days of FF VIII disc switching. Although, it also kinda makes me wanna get the 360 version, those guys are getting more discs than I am, that's not fair! :-D

Know how I know articles like this are just flame bait to incite squabbling amongst Xbox enthusiasts and Blu ray elitists?

When you make incorrect, unnecessary statements such as this:

When was the last time a game came on more than two discs? Final Fantasy IX? And that's just wait Square's "aiming" for - it could be more than that if they can't pull off their data compression magic. Imagine a four-disc package. It'd be big enough to put an Atlus release to shame.
Um. I can certainly remember when. Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon for starters. Hell, I've got a stack of World of Warcraft disks and expansion disks laying around.

I think too much noise is being made over multi-disks. I, quite honestly, have no problem whatsoever reaching up and swapping out disks. The people who have issue with this are either strictly sony Fan-boys, lazy, or both.

Games are growing larger in size and scope with much greater cinematics and more powerful engines. Eventually, there will come a point when even Blu-ray is too small a medium to hold a truly ambitious game. I will be much interested in hearing the cries and complaints about "multiple disks!" then...

As long as I don't have to go through the constant switching between all the disks back and forth like in the end game of Star Ocean: TLH, I don't mind the multiple discs. Or at the very least, fix it this time so that discs can read each other off the hard drive.

I'm so sick of sony make blu disc's. in fact tagging an extra £100 on the price tag for a blu ray player was a shite idea! Bluray DVD's and DVD's in HD have NO noticable difference i have 3 blu ray movies, on a 30 inch hd tv, there is NO difference between them and an HD movie.

I guess if i get this game i'll get it on PS3, 3 discs is just too much.
Huh? A blu-ray movie is a HD movie, you've confused me and DVDs don't come in HD..... I'm so confused. Anyways, yes, there is a difference, I found the sound quality to be one of the easiest differences to spot but certain blu-rays can also take your breath away with the visuals. Planet Earth, I'm looking at you.

What? More disks just means more disks. It's the same amount of gameplay on both consoles, one you just need to get off your ass more often.

I'm pretty sure DVD's can come in HD actually.

Oh no, more disks!

When did that become a bad thing, anyway? I'd rather have 3 disks with instant play rather than installing it for an hour.

I think you misinterperated this persons statement. They weren't saying the 360 would have more gameplay, simply that the great number of disks is likely to be justified do to massive amounts of game content.

I don't care how many discs it comes on. I just don't want to see another Lost Odyssey packaging debaukle. Build a case to hold the discs. Don't let one disc run free in the case.
But you were supposed to have at least one of those discs in the console at all time, duh. [/kidding]

OT: Final Fantasy doesn't interest me that much so go Square Enix for giving the same experience to 360's as PS3's.

There was such a format know as HD DVD but blu-ray killed it. Plus the difference only really takes noticeable effect when in high action sequences where there are exsplosions and such. Plus blu-ray disks store a lot more information, which is a plus in terms of making games like these I suppose.

Oh no, I'll have to get off my ass and change the disc every once in a while! THE HORROR OF IT ALL!

It's like people don't even REMEMBER Oregon Trail. I mean, yeesh.

Multi-disking is still around, and it still works.

It had better fill up 3 discs. I mean, if you are going to muck about with putting a game on multiple discs, don't do it as a gimmick.

Is the Japanese audio track on the 360 version, or did they cut that for space?
I want to know this too. I don't mind the English VA's but if I had my choice I'd take the original ones. I don't care about multiple discs.

I thought blu-ray WAS HD?

The only difference in practical terms was that HD-DVD's can hold 20GB while blu-ray can hold 50GB. It's just a storage medium so there's no limit to the resolution they can hold...

I see a flaw with your logic. More discs doesen't necessarily mean more gameplay. More discs = More discs. Thus, they cannot fit as much onto an Xbox disc. They will both have the same amount of gameplay, just one console will have it stretched onto more discs, assuming the PS3 has less.

Agreed. And if anything, I love when games have multiple discs. It usually means that the game will be massive in terms of length. And I don't think anybody would argue that getting a massive game for your money (especially if it's a good one) would be a bad thing.
