Whatever, just wash your hands.
Im mostly curous what game engine they will be running the game with, if its gonna be the old standby oblivion one they used for said game and fallouts or if they are going with the rage engine since now bethesda has access to it

I wonder what skills got dropped? Hopefully security, that one was useless.

Neither. id Tech 5 (Rage's engine, developed by id; RAGE is Rockstar's engine by the way) was acquired by Bethesda/ZeniMax, along with id themselves, only a year or so ago, and that means there's no way it could be used for TES V, not to mention it's been stated numerous times that it's not a suitable engine.

Bethesda have also, finally, dropped their butchered version of Gamebryo and they've created their own engine this time (I believe it's currently unnamed, or at least I've not heard a name), so it's on completely new tech.

looks good, i am a little concerned about the level scaling, granted Fallout's was ok but id prefer no scaling at all

and tbh im not sure i understand the leveling system they mentioned, il have to keep an eye out for more information, but reducing the number of skills even further...eh?
i just hope it actually encourages specialisation this time round rather than allowing us to create god characters

All fantastic news. I thought Oblivion's leveling system was a broken, arduous mess. I also thought it fairly lame that one character could partake in basically every guild/quest regardless of proficiencies or alliances. Fixing just those two aspects of the series makes Skyrim a first-day purchase for me.

Now if they'd just do something about the unnatural behavior of NPCs and the wonky, unsatisfying combat...

Skeleton key = bye bye, security.

One the game, though:

WANT! ... Err, I mea- WANT NOW!

No classes: Fair enough. I only made custom classes anyway.
Dual wield: Good!
Less skills: Eeeh, bit on the fence about this one. Not many removed, though. Maybe they've merged some? You've brought back spears this time, right?
New quest system: Awesome!
Fallout 3 similarities: Yes, I can accept that.

I'm looking forward to November. Like really, really, incredibly looking forward to November.

In the trailer at the end there is music and singing, turns out the singing is a different language which they made it translates to:
Dragonborn Dragonborn
By his honor is sworn
To keep evil forever at bay
And the fiercest foes rout
When they hear triumph?s shout
Dragonborn for hunger blessing we pray

And the scrolls have fortold
Of black wings in the cold
That when brothers wage war come unfurled
Alduin, bane of kings
Ancient shadow unbound
With a hunger to swallow the world
FYI I did not translate it, I'm not that talented.

Want a shield in your left and a sword in your right? Go ahead. How about a dagger in your right and a fireball in your left? How about a shield in your right and a heal spell in your left, to bore enemies to death? Apparently, anything is possible...
When your man smells like Old Spice and not a lady. I'm on a horse...

It's actually only the first paragraph at the end, and the language is Dragon.

Lets hope part of that "and more" part was that the combat system is fixed and axes aren't classed as blunt again. Less skills sounds good to me, less faffing about. liking the dual wield concept (twin long swords, lightning and shield, chameleon and dagger and finally a good old Claymore for when it's a***-kicking time)

I don't understand the rationale behind assigning magic to hands. Isn't that going backwards to Morrowind? In Oblivion I could simply fling lightning out of my hands while holding the sword.

Thanks god they won't let people sprint backwards at top speed anymore. Now please give us some damn spears.

All I want from Skyrim is a Hardcore mode. Let me need to eat and sleep. Let me hunt for food. Let me craft not only weapons and armor, but tools as well. Let me mine for iron ore. Let me chop down trees. Let me harvest leather and turn it into a helmet. Let me gather lava in a bucket and make an obsidian portal... oh, wait. That's Minecraft.

My request still stands, though - make the world coherent. Fulfill the overblown promises of Fable 1. Let me farm and plant acorns and crush grapes into wine, and I will love you.

"Let me LIVE in Skyrim!" Do that, and I will gladly pay your $60 pricetag, even if the rest of the game sucks. Do that, and I shall bless you with every swing of my axe and clang of my hammer. Do that, and you are my heroes.
And if Bethesda can't answer my cry, I shall have to turn to the modders. But I hope that you yourselves will fulfill this wish, that I may praise you.

Incidentally, has anyone else here played "A Tale in the Desert"? It had a rather unique crafting mode, involving a physical shaping of a piece of metal into the object desired, using various tools.
