hehe, thankyou, and yes, i know exactly what you mean. i only commented because i liked how funny the sentence was alone. i would much rather be with a guy like you on an FPS/any other online game than those types of damn 12 year olds -_-Baron_BJ said:That's a fair statement, however it's more of a reaction to the community that one is exposed to during gaming. I'm a person who prizes intelligence and wit above all else (and in a world of electronic gaming even more so) and when I'm trying to play a game if I'm placed in a match with some 12 year old who wants to call everyone on his team a ****** and a n00b because they chose not to follow his instructions instead of what the majority of the group had agreed to. My statement more or less states "If you're a tool then I don't want to be around you" and unfortunately, a disturbingly large portion of gamers in certain online communities are the aforementioned brand of jackass. To say I'm not smug and a horrible person when agitated would be an understatement. A slightly hypocritical stance on my part? Yes.riottrio said:not to add to the pokemon fanboyism or rage, I'm just going to comment on the irony of the(se) sentence(s). maybe people are dickheads to you because you are the biggest dick of them all.Baron_BJ said:I've heard of being able to link up online with the DS, but I don't know, nor do I care, how this is done. I buy games like Pokemon because People are annoying dickheads, I don't want to play with others, I want to roll around with a large group of trained attack animals and brutally maul small children
gotta dick-em-all, dickhead-mon! (i swear thats actually the name of a Digimon)
anyway, i jest because other than that bit there, you had a pretty good argument for yourself going. i do disagree with the bit where you got up to the pokemon league though. i played diamond (or was it pearl?) and i didn't even get that far! i literally had caught the legendary pokemon when i thought "holy crap, I've actually run out of enthusiasm to play this game anymore... its too damn easy"
the best part of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl for me was the ability to go spelunking... seriously, i spent 2 hours underground the first time i found out about it...
and i only used your quote as it was directly above my reply box at the time and mentioned console versions. i've seen a lot of hatred against these gamecube ones online... i personally never saw what was wrong with them myself, could someone please explain the bad parts of them? the battle animations were fun and enjoyable to watch, the stories were quite decent (particularly in the first one) and i found a lot of satisfaction when i finally completed both of them.Sephiwind said:Wow I seriously hope that the photo was taken from an alpha or beta version of the graffics. I mean seriously I took one look and thought... "Hmm.. so pokemon has taken a leap and has now caught up to the PlayStation 1 in graphics. Seriously though the 2d sprites on 3d background reminded me a lot of crappier version of Xenogears, or Star Ocean: 2nd Story graphics.
When is Nintendo gonna pull their collective heads out of their asses and make a consul version of the game. It's been almost 2 generations of systems since the bothered trying, and I'm sure a good consul version would do wonders to revitalizing the franchise
i think you need better money management or need to refine your catching skills. I currently have 600k dollars in game post 16th gym. My secret, get a pokemon and keep it atleast 15 levels above everything else. Then you will rarely need to spend money except on basics. 5 potions, 5 paralyze heals exc.Rect Pola said:snip
A bigger issue I pray they fix is making the basic Pokeballs cheaper. Or at least so you don't lose them if it wasn't just right. Money has NEVER been plentiful in this series, and yet they demand hundreds for a single ball. Why do you think they made that berry mechanic? Because stocking pokeballs got the lion's share of you budget. Blowing said stock on some bastard that will only go in a special ball (thought the game couldn't be bothered just to tell you) is usually where my desire to play instantly stops dead.

And Zelda still is best in 2D. Those games got a lot of attention, and a lot of people liked them, but why do you think Nintendo is going back to the roots on the Mario franchise?Steampunk Viking said:I seem to remember Mario 64 and Zelda: Ocarina of Time being the most successful in the series...TimeLord said:No, no, no! everything that was ever good in 2D goes to 3D and fails!!
I think that they've been avoiding the console versions because Pokémon is, by and large, a hand-held series - portability is one of its draws.Sephiwind said:When is Nintendo gonna pull their collective heads out of their asses and make a consul version of the game. Well, to be fair each new "generation" (Generations: R/B/Y, G/S/C, R/S/E, D/P/P) brings with it a few minor changes such as EVs, new attacks, and obviously new Pokemon. I'd be lying if I said they were completely new, because each one has been using the exact same story and the exact same core gameplay since 1998. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing though. I do agree that people who buy more than 1 version per generation are probably mentally handicapped...Zeeky_Santos said:Seriously, why do people buy into what is essentially the same game with new names? Pokemon is like, the same thing over and over again, lunacy. nice to see that they are taking a step into a newish direction, but the very premise of Pokemon could be adapted into something that looks far better than this shit they put up before you, being praised as awesome.
^ exactly my feelings.Random Bobcat said:A graphical upheavel doesn't mean innovation in my eyes.
If they introduce a new type for example, then fair enough. Innovation is Ruby&Sapphire, so far this is just a spit shine. Too early to judge I know, blah blah.
