PS4 games cost $120 [https://ebgames.com.au/ps4-161489-Killzone-Shadow-Fall-Placeholder-Price-PlayStation-4]!
Do you see the giant fucking letters where it says "Placeholder Price"? That means that it's subject to change!
Shock horror!

Anyway I doubt I'll be getting one on release, so I'll save a bit more cash from getting it later on more likely.
Of course I saw that - I'm not an idiot. But what makes you think the price is subject to change for the better, especially considering, as MeChaNiZ3D said, that PS3 games are currently selling at the same price? I mean, you must obviously think it WILL change for the better considering your contention, but why do you think that?
Troll alert.

PS3 games new are $60: http://www.gamestop.com/ps3/games/the-last-of-us/98630?loc=bestsellers

Also a quick Google search reveals that PS4 games will be within the range of $0.99-$60: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/02/22/sony-clarifies-ps4-games-price-point

Try again Xboners.
Report alert: calling people trolls is against the forum rules.

Secondly, the game is listed for 118 Australian dollars.

Alright, apologizing for my attitude earlier, I saw dollars and though America, didn't notice that it was Australian store. I retract my previous statement.

Apology accepted. You're not the first person to assume everything is in American dollars. :p

That's pretty much what PS3 games are now.
I see... I'm glad I don't own a PS3 then!

And you wonder why they're having such a problem with used games. I wonder if they could double their sales by dropping the price to 80 bucks... probably not.
Actually.... PS3 games haven't been that much in ages, unless maybe if you get it from EB games but yeah your own fault. For example, GRID 2 a brand new game on PS3/360/PC is $70 at jbhifi:
http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/game/ps3/grid-2/684561

And that's not the only example, so if you pay $110 or even 100 for a PS3 game then your being ripped off (collectors editions aside). Which is why I dislike CoD as their usually $120, I refuse to be ripped off for games that are so heavily recycled. Thats all going by Australian retailers too, if you go online it can be cheaper again, so shop around :)

I was never planning on paying that much (or even getting a PS4, really), but thanks for the tips. Since I believe the PS4 is also region free you could potentially import a US copy for even cheaper again.

Indeed you can, althought I prefer http://www.ozgameshop.com/ which imports UK copies and sells them here for far less than retail, but also means I don't need to deal with importing and am still covered by Australian consumer protection laws, get the best of both worlds.

Well hey, I'm sorry - I didn't realise you mean A$. I do have a solution for you though; import from the US because the PS4 is not region-locked. Yay!

since games are priced at 50 eur in europe as opposed to 60 USD but the console price is at the same number, I can get exactly two new releases for the 100 eur I save. and I'll have enough for a month of PS+ subscription if I'm lucky and get a good deal.

Since the PS4 will be backwards compatible with PS3 titles, there's a couple of exclusives that I would like to have a try at. Just need a minimum of 5 games before I can justify buying it.
It's not backwards compatible. The part dealing with PS3 games involved an online streaming service utilizing Gaikai's methodology, so any local PS3 games you have wont run on the system. So if you plan on playing PS3 games, don't trade up the old system for the PS4.

That's pretty much what PS3 games are now. EDIT: Oh wait shit, apparently they're generally $100. Maybe only some are more. Well, good thing they support used games.
Thought they were more like 60 $
It's Australia. They always have awful VG prices.
Sorry, my bad thought u was on about American dollars.
Aunt lives over in Australia and she does complain about the prices when she's buying games for her husband.
Prices are supposedly going up for the ps4/xbone

Nevermind, disregard my comment. I just realized your link was an Australian link. The signs are similar to USD so, yeah.

I will spend my extra $200-400 on gas, or rent, or whatever. I will have $200 because the PS4 is also a POS along with the Xbone. I was happy until I saw they were going the douchebag route and making PS+ required for multiplayer because they knew they could get away with it. >:[
