I loved this movie so much. If the sequel can continue with its level of quality, and actually exceed it (think Batman Begins to Dark Knight instead of Iron Man 1 to 2) then...well AWESOME it would be

I have yet to see the new movie, I refused to pay to see it after seeing the trailers that encluded Havoc.... Scott Summer's younger TWIN brother. That detail becomes impossible for me to over look and makes it impossible for me to enjoy the movie as a stand alone.

Others (read from the comments that apparently were on Facebook(root of all evil) stated a desire for cross overs with the avengers and what not, due to my not having a facebook(and never will) I am forced to respond to those posts here....

Until Paramount has "X-men" no cross over with the "X-men" is possible... and the last time i heard(read) anything about Fox's franchise rights they only got the privilege of doing 6 total X-men titles(that means 1 left). Marvel is waiting for this to run out so they can do things right(IE scrub clean the misfortunes of Fox's story rewrites). Then can begin putting the "X-men" into the on going Marvel Universe continuity they are currently building. This is one of the reasons for the Spider-Men reboot coming soon(as I heard it), it will be put out by Paramount not Fox. Marvel pulled the Plug on a "Silver Surfer" Movie under Fox because of the lack of creative control on their property, and how poorly Fantastic Four 2 turned out. Lots of "nerd-rage-bomb" e-mails landed in Marvels lap over it. Paramount granted them[Marvel] creative control and only distribute and help finance the movies.... or at least as of December of two years('09)ago in an insider report I had gotten too read.

Marvel has been very pleased with how Iron-man worked out and the most recent "Incredible Hulk". They have been trying to get all the franchises [they] are most invested in under one movie house so they can control their product.

In the X-men franchise, there's a recurrent theme of the mutant struggle as a metaphor for race relations. It would be a waste of a '60s X-men movie not to use the civil rights movement as a backdrop. Mutant march on Washington?

How sad for you. You missed quite a good film because of your inflexibility. I hope you never torture yourself with other works that have adapted source material, i.e. most of Western literature.

I DEMAND GAMBIT!!!

Seriously, get him in this. And make it a good Gambit. The actor in Origins was alright for the role, but he wasn't written that well. Do him justice people. Come on.

This is really good news. It's been ages since I've looked forward to a movie sequel... >>. Not much else to say other than I'm looking forward to it.

i was really surprised how well first class was. had a good time watching it. im a bit sceptical about the sequel but well, lets see. as few others already said, connect it with the assassination of luther king. how they also protest for their rights against racism. that would be an interesting topic.
after all at the end of first class, russians and the US army turned against the mutants on the island.
kennedy would also be interesting how a mutant gets accused of killing him.

lets hope they can make it as interesting as they did with this one.

The first mutant? Have a story focussed around whoever the really powerful ones were?
Apocalypse would be COOL but... meh without the core X-Men it would suck. Personally I would have used him in X3 as the ultimate "f**k you" to thoe thinking that Magneto would get his war HIS way.
You mean adding Apocalypse or the Age of Apocalypse story because both would be just as awesome or even days of future past season.
Honestly? Apocalypse himself first. DoFP was built up to so you saw how bad he was BEFORE that happened. And waiting on DoFP also allows fans to see if they"Deadpool" him and not buttf**k one of the best X-Men arcs ever.

Yes, they are looking towards a sequel. It's called X-Men. It was released in 2000. It takes place chronologically after First Class. That is the whole concept of a prequel, after all, that it comes before a movie, and is followed by that movie. I don't see how they could possibly make a sequel to a prequel that technically has a sequel. Well, ok, you can, I guess, but we all know how well those turn out (not naming any names, George Lucas). Am I the only one that thinks First Class works as a standalone movie and any sequels would ruin it?
Keep in mind nothing said First Class was the ONLY prequel... ~points to X-Men Origins~

MIND BULLETS

Oh, and as for the real life backdrop, they should do the lunar landing, and specifically state that there WASN'T a transformer on the moon. Just in case anyone heard otherwise ;) ;)

As long as they make it good, I don't really care what they do with the rest of the trilogy (though retconning X1-X3 and Origins would be nice).
