Well I don't think the Lorax is trying to push a liberal agenda, I think it's instead talking about an important issue, one that was important back in 1988 and is still important today. I doubt Dr. Suess was trying to brainwash children, just trying to give a good moral, "if you get rid of all the plants, you destroy the ecosystem." It was an eco-friendly message that's all.

I honestly don't see what the fuck fox's problem is...eco-friendly messages have been in kid's movies for years, anybody remember ferngully? And yet people still litter. I don't think anyone has to worry.
All I remember about that film is 1) Tim Curry was in it 2) The Nostalgia Critic reviewed it and 3) It introduced the "Big Lipped Alligator Moment!" pieces to his videos, causing me to call them out in many films today.
Isn't the big lipped alligator moment from All Dogs go to Heaven?

Though he could be talking about Tone Loc as a lizard. That was weird.

I like how they said it was an insidious agenda. And then the other guy says to fight back by littering.

Even if the Secret World of Arietti was trying to have some kind of keep nature clean and help eachother message...It's a message about peace, improvement of life and preservation of nature. Insidious?

Is there any chance that Fox News is actually the American equivalent of Brass Eye and we've just never realised it's satirical?

Yeah, the big lipped alligator moment in the Ferngully is the first time it's used but the actual phrase references the alligator in All Dogs go to Heaven.

So the fucktard in the middle wants people to PAY to see the movie, PAY to buy a shit-ton of snacks, then leave it all on the floor and walk out of the movie?

You know who that punishes? ME (as a movie theater employee) you asshole. The theater still gets its money from the concession sales, the LIBERAL HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS still get their money from the ticket sales. You think box office numbers count people who walk out of the movie? Fuck no. They count how much money is made from the sales of the goddamn tickets. Why should I be punished because YOU don't agree with a movie's message?

Isn't there ANYTHING else going on in the world right now that these three fucks could spend their time on?

I don't usually swear this much, but my god Fox News is complete bullshit.

Well isn`t that just downright lovely. Haven`t seen that many Ghibli movies myself, but from the few I´ve seen, most of them I´ve liked quite a bit. And well, Fox... blergh, is all i can say about this. Blergh.

Ha!! Ha ha!! Oh those infuriating morons. I would not be so bothered by this if I didn't know that this view is represented by about 20% of the population of the country I live in. That's pretty fucking scary.

I think having a black president has made the American right completely bat-shit insane. They weren't this fucking crazy when Clinton was in power.
They were still pretty bad, though. They tried to do that whole imaginary murder conspiracy Vince Foster thing, after all. And they really hated Al Gore during his campaign too. I'm pretty sure that whole "invented the internet" deliberate misquote was spread around by them.

After doing some research I have found the following FACTS:
The Borrowers, the story upon which The Secret World of Arrietty is based, was first published in 1952; the same year in which both Charlotte?s Web and Curious George Rides a Bike were published. Coincidence, I think not. Let?s analyze these books for a moment shall we? First we have The Borrowers, a story with liberal agenda in which the ?little man? is encouraged to take what they want and need from the wealthy without permission simply because they are entitled to since they ?need it? and feeling that the rich won?t miss these small ?borrowings?. Then we have the Curious George story by Rey and Rey, in which the main protagonist, Curious George, a young and easily influence primate and his ?owner/handler? The Man in the Yellow Hat, who is obviously a spokesperson for the Democratic party and views George, A.K.A. the everyday American, as being a simpleton who is no smarter than, you guessed it, a primate. Curious George is directly encouraged by the Man in the Yellow Hat to travel in a more eco-friendly way around town by riding a bicycle, rather than driving in a polluting car. Even back in the early 50?s the liberal media was trying to cram their agenda?s down our throats and turn our children into a bunch of tree-hugging hippies. This agenda extended even further into the 1960?s when the Schwinn bicycle manufacturers began to advertise their evil products to children in all markets, even enlisting the socialist icon Captain Kangaroo to regularly sponsor the left-winged transports on his show, whose primary target audience was children aged 6 and under! Naturally as these children grew up, as a symptom of their liberal brain washing, they would ?occupy? their parents kitchens, dens even bedrooms, demanding a Schwinn bicycle. And the story doesn?t simply end there, oh no! Think about it, how many children even today do you see riding bicycles, it?s an epidemic!

Also published in 1952 is probably one of the more well known books that SHOULD be banned from the libraries as it promotes a vegetarian/vegan agenda by depicting the hardworking, American Farmer as being a malicious killer and greedy miser while all at the same time, depicting the innocent 99% as being so small and helpless against the massive and powerful 1%, the book I refer to is none other than E.B. White?s text book example of liberal agenda in children?s books, Charlotte?s Web. The story starts with a hard-working farmer named John Arable, who is just trying to live up to the American Dream by making an honest living by raising livestock, finds a runt in his sow?s litter and makes the rational and economic decision to not waste valuable resources to raise an animal that most likely will bring him little to no profit. As he is about to dispose of the small pig, saving himself a little extra time, resources and work, his daughter, who is aptly named Fern to fit in with the liberal, eco-friendly agenda, cries out against the ?injustice? asking her father to save the weak by taking from the strong and fit. This is a wonderful model of how our economy works today. While the other piglets are all fighting hard and striving to get what they need in a competitive market, the runt of the litter, later named Wilbur, who either can?t or won?t compete, is given free meals by the ruling class, or in this analogy the government, and decides to live upon these food stipends and not work for the rest of his life, simply taking all the free meals that are sent his way. It is only when he is threatened to have this system disrupted and taken away from him, that he finally decides to do some work and prove his worth to the farmer. In this model, Wilbur represents individuals or even families who are living off of government welfare. Since Uncle Sam is providing for them more than well enough for these welfare recipients to live comfortably, they ask the question: Why bother getting a job when I can get my meals for free? So this cycle continues on and on until finally they are cut off from the tit of America?s bosom and immediately begin to complain and argue, shouting that the government is not fair for taking away what was ?rightfully theirs? and only when forced between a rock and a hard place, being death and getting a job, will they choose the latter.

These three books, all aimed at young children and all published in the same year, surely must have been the result of some massive liberal agenda that had been planned out and executed over the decades, all leading up to the point of today, then these children?s books could be directly spoon-fed into a child?s mind, with the subtle liberal messages, all in the course of 90 minutes. Think about it, in an hour and a half, a child can be given an entire dose of brainwashing through watching a colorful animated movie, rather than the old days of taking the entire day if not a few, to read a book that would most likely have little to no pictures in it. I wouldn?t be surprised if in any further research I discover a secret plot that says that the liberals are responsible for the entire creation of motion picture technology as an experimental means of making their subliminal messaging quicker and easier to deliver to the mindless sheep that they refer to as Americans.

?

So you see Fox News, this is how you can take ANYTHING and twist it to look like an agenda or subliminal campaign of one party or another. Just because your own minds are so tangled and deformed to have the need to point to any little thing in the world and cry out ?AHA! YOU SEE! THE LIBERALS ARE TRYING TO DECEIVE YOU!? doesn?t mean that there is anything there. As Sigmund Freud once said, ?Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.? So please, stop acting so paranoid, stop trying to psychoanalyze every little thing, stop trying to see conspiracies that don?t exist, and above all else, stop trying to turn the whole political arena into an US versus THEM, it only causes more hate, paranoia and verbal garbage to be thrown around which in the end hurts everyone, including the children.

Whatever. Have fun picking on conservatives for being "frumpy old white men (who are all racist apparently because that's the only reason anyone could not love Obama riiiiiight.)" When the yes-we-can squads in Congress start shitting on video game rights to free speech, guess who's gonna be at the other end, waving the Constitution in their faces? The only reason FOX gets a bad rap is because they're the only news source that dares to not lean left. After awhile CNN, MSNBC, CBS, and the "news" magazines such as Newsweek all melt together into what I can only describe as an echo chamber of opinions. When Bush was in office they all rode the tandem bike of disapproval, and now that Obama's in charge, they either voice support or conveniently ignore all of his missteps and shortcomings. Let's be honest here. Some of the things these news sources report are shamelessly skewed. I'm not saying FOX is innocent, but please, oh please; stop pretending FOX is the only offender. I saw a Newsweek cover the other day that literally said, "Why are Obama's opponents such idiots?" or something to that effect. Seriously? Is this supposed to be balanced? That sounds exactly like something I'd see in a blog post. Is this what we've been reduced to? Think critically, people.

Wait, protesting green policies by actively (and needlessly) trying to HURT the environment?

That's....cartoonishly spiteful. What is he, a Captain Planet villain?

Fox, if you're looking for another well-loved, whimsical show that brightened the lives of thousands of children to rail against, might I suggest Bagpuss? [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ga23iSxyXO4] I've heard he's pretty keen on recycling, liberal shill that he is.

NO-ONE disses Bagpuss. [HEADING=2]YOU HEAR ME? NO-ONE![/HEADING]

Fox of late has been seeming to be rather tame. Nice to see they didn't stop their crazy and insane agenda, after all. The world would be less entertaining.
I really wouldn't worry too much about anything Fox says. I have a feeling more people see Fox for what it is than what we might pessimistically imagine.
I saw a trailer for The Lorax, and though it does use license on the original story, as most movies based on the good Dr.'s books do, it still sticks with the core of the story. I remember reading the book back in my grade school days, and I also remember finding it one of the most creepy and depressing books I ever read then. But it's message isn't off-scope, and I have to think that Fox is more worried about it because people will find that being more responsible for our planet would make Glenn Beck, Lou Dobbs, and Rupert Murdoch all the more unpopular.
Arrietty looks to be another great story, a spinoff of one of my favorite book series back in my young years.
God these two movies are reminding me how old I am getting...
I have to question why it falls under some liberal agenda, unless Lou is paranoid of little people living in his house and borrowing his pens and paperclips. Which, if true, pretty much cements my idea that Rupert hires his newscasters from Bellevue Mental Hospital.

Made it through 40 seconds of the clip, felt my I.Q. drop about 5 points because of it.

How anyone can watch that show and think that it is news is beyond me. It is like believing the Onion news network is a reputable news source, and that boggles the mind.

I weep for humanity

They're remaking The Borrowers? That film warranted a remake?

I think I got my first sexual thought during that movie.

OT: Fox is stupid, blah, blah, blah- They're remaking the fuckin Borrowers. The dog that can't eat cheese? The kid getting trapped in a milk bottle? Holy shit.
