Fox Joins MMO Biz With Family Guy Online

I actually like Family Guy. Its the level of randomness that I enjoy, and some of the characters are brilliant (Stewie, for one. Adam West I also love, especially as he plays himself)

However, as much as I like the programme, I can't imagine this working out... at all!

I love Family Guy, hell I'm watching it as I write this (pure coincidence), but a game? Any game? No.
I noticed people commenting that a Futurama mmo would work a hundred times better - I fully support this!

Only one thing that would work as a TV show MMO, Futurama, giant worlds, each usually explored very deep. Family Guy, It'll make money, and a lot at that, because... Well, its Family guy, people will pay for it only to get more of the show.

Well unless the gameplay is built around the unrelated to anything parts of the show (Where some crazy shit does happen.) it can't be done. They tried making a game before,it was below average but playable,but only because it was built on something.

I honestly can't believe they would come up with such a thing.

I bet 100 bucks that the developer will be Cryptic (or whatever they're called now) or a bunch ex-employees of Cryptic. They make terrific fly-by-night garbage games based on popular shows and franchises. If they were at the helm you'd be able to immerse yourself in a massively sharded MMO that makes you wonder if you're playing a single player campaign or paying to play on an online service! And every detail of the game would make you wonder if they even watched the show!! WOW!!

We don't know anything about this game yet and thus cannot possibly render any opinion that's worth half a fuck. If two parents are horrible people it doesn't necessarily mean the child will turn out to be a horrible person, so why would you condemn him before he's even born? I'm not saying it's a good idea, fuck I don't think it's even worth a shot, but my point is that the game COULD be the best god damn thing in the world or exactly what people expect it to be, it could be freaking anything. the only things we know for sure, is that the game is family guy themed, and online. we know nothing else, so don't jump to conclusions that the game will be bad when we don't know what the game IS.

Family guy is funny. Seth MacFarlane has done well in producing it.
I don't know a single Brit (above the age of 14) who hasn't watched some of it and not enjoyed it. I just felt the need to rebuke your attack at the him and possibly the series.

Sadly I think it is within Fox's potential... I think?
I KNOW it is within Fox's potential to go all out for money and a family guy MMO is going to be precisely to make a quick buck.

Yeah... Fox is most likely seriously considering this, and depending on how well this "testing the water" press release is received they will go forward appropriately.

Oh God, I loled so hard at this. There's no way in hell sometihng like this would ever possibly work. I mean, Family Guy is good as a show, running on too long, but good.

I can't see this being something that someone plays for longer than a week. Even people who are leaving WoW are going to SW:TOR. Who are they going to....

You know what...my brother just reminded me of all the many free-to-play MMO's out there. If it runs like....there's a chance. I won't touch it, but it does have a chance.
