I'm pretty sure they'll just blame the victim anyway.
They just hate it because they don't control it, if they controlled it they wouldn't care how violent it was. They hate games and their "encouragement of violence" because they are worried the violence might for once be applied to those that deserve it, in short: them and the rest of the corporate capitalist whores.

"Violent videogames like Bulletstorm have the potential to send the message that violence and insults with sexual innuendos are the way to handle disputes and problems."

Well, it's always worked for me.

It's going to get to the point where video game companies are just going to dish out outrageous games just to piss off these media watchdogs.

Well if videogames aren't the cause of violence, tell me where it comes from.

You can't can you?
Violence has been around since even before man has. It's "Cause" is still a mystery, but allow me to speculate.

Anger, hatred, greed, and fear. Four of some of the oldest emotions, and some of the most dangerous.
I think his point was that this a logical fallacy.

Hopefully the fact that Fox News claims incorrect facts, like they did here, quickly becomes apparent for each time they do so. This will hopefully reduce their reputation an standing to the level of a gossip magazine.

EDIT:

On the same thread of logic as these kind of people use, and the common counter-argument of parents being the ones ultimately responsible for what they expose their children to, based on their personal philosophies on what's right for a child to experience (which i agree with).

Isn't the teaching that logic can be suspended when it comes to the origin of life, the universe, and how it all works(AKA Religion), wrong as well? These kids are taught to fundamentally believe that the laws of physics do not apply to their gods creating the universe (or in some cases only earth), intervening in the world with supernatural powers, and are the ultimate answer to the origin of everything (yet need no origin themselves).
(This would be my personal opinion, and thus playing the devil's advocate of using the same argument as Fox News and other poeple like them, to promote said opinion and trying to tell people how to raise their kids)

Isn't it wrong that while no-one complains about the kind of exposure kids get to religion, when the reason for that is that adults have the freedom to share their philosophies with their kids as a part of their upbringing (which i agree with), but that same argument becomes void once entertaining media come into the picture?
(This would be the argument that many people use as counter the previous argument based on opinion, which clearly shows how people like Fox News do not follow their logic all the way. Why? It's incomplete logic.)

Conclusion: What parents decide to expose their children to is their decision, which will be based on their own personal philosophies on life. All organizations like the ESRB can do is give good recommendations, based on what audience the authors of a given media product aimed at when creating their product.

In other news, Bill O'Reilly still isn't sure where the moon came from.
I just realised that the janitor from Scrubs is actually Fox News. Constantly lying and doing completely ridiculous things, always with a straight face and for the sole purpose of annoying others and being a lunatic no matter what. As for that quote in particular, the janitor also has a word on it:

PS
If they're praising the FCC and things controlling the TV media (Brits punish false reporting, I imagine the yanks have a similar organization somewhere? not that it seems like they do), why does Fox News still exist and doesn't have a fine rating that would seem like a daily subscription to a brothel buffet?

I think news would love you. OT: Yeah I know, but to me it just falls back to parents responsibility and kids shouldn't play this kind of game in the first place.

Also I have given up on Fox News and gaming ever since Mass Effect.

Why. Why in the name of all that is decent and holy do they insist on doing shit like this. Shouldn't their be a law against broadcasting such stupidity and calling it news?
Problem is twofold. One, that they already have a devout following among a sufficient number of idiots to stave off any serious "attack". Two, that it is not illegal to pay someone to come speak on your show/use their research data and it is not illegal to share an opinion of someone with a psychological or other degree, even when it could be refuted a thousandfold or is based on nothing.

Fact is, even if they're getting fined on a regular basis (and I'm guessing they're not), they have a large enough following to make appeals on those fines, the First Amendment to fall back on just in case and, of course, a legal team and a pile of cash from that following if push comes to shove. Bottom line is, their bullshit is profitable and that's all they care about.

I thought Mass Effect turned people into rapists...

I loved the YouTube vid of a Fox News expert (and according to Jon Stewart, Fox News and experts are like the Special Olympics and winners...if you show up, you are one) where she said that you could do whatever you wanted and it subjugated women. And when the ACTUAL expert (a critic from G4) asked if she'd actually WATCHED the scene, she said no.

And she gets PAID for this shit?

What is Fox thinking? Have they actually seen Bulletstorm? They're telling all the thirteen year-old boys in the country "Ohh noo, this game is way too HARDCORE for you!" and Epic's over there like "Thanks for selling our game, you guys." If you want to actually hurt a game like Bulletstorm, you have to say it's fine if you're a girl, or link it to a rise in being totally gay.

What Fox News sees:

------------------------------------------------

Victim: No! Get away from me!

"Rapist": Bend over!!

Victim: (while complying) Please don't hurt me!

"Rapist": I hope you're ready for this! (pulls out a big-honking machine gun)

Victim: Wha-

"Rapist": (while shooting) Fire in the hole!

Victim: GAARRRGH!! MY ANUS IS ON FIRE!

Psychotic moron: 150 points!! YEAH!!

--------------------------------------------------

Everyone else: /facepalm

*sigh* Let's remember what Yahtzee said and pay it no attention, "because like a small kid putting the cat in the tumble dryer, that's exactly what it wants".

But calling it news, stating it as truth, and blatantly ignoring facts on what is supposed to be honest delivery of events should be illegal. All i am going to say.
Very much agreed mate. I think there should be a warning system after which they are forced to shut down the station. One that would have Fox News out of business in a matter of weeks.

Dude, he was joking, he's simply replaced the word "moon" with "violence". It's the exact same childish rhetoric that Bill used to try to weasel his way out of being ridiculed publicly for the embarrassing statement during an interview when he admitted he didn't know how tides or sunrises worked.

I know that now, he came back and explained it. You see, I already find Bill a drooling idiot, so I don't watch him and never saw that particular clip.

Ah, Faux News strikes again.
this reminds me of the "fully controllable pornographic scenes" from mass effect 2 that basically amount to you saying "yes" then a vague cutscene showing nothing more explicit than sideboob
