"The article also brings in an expert from the Women's Media Center that says Duke Nukem Forever "is even more offensive" than 1996's Duke Nukem 3D "

Pff - typical woman.

Anyway, its not like Fox News' side of the political fence have traditionally been the defenders of women (or anyone else who isn't white, male, rich and Christian for that matter).

This is why you'll never see another Blazing Saddles, because people are hypersensative idiots.

Wow. I'm actually quite appalled at Fox for taking this long in deriding Duke Nukem Forever. Usually they or some other Conservative nutjobs are INB4 everyone else tearing it apart without actually having played it, seen a video of it or even read about it. Well done Fox News for outdoing your own reputation.

Useless simpletons...

/rant

But seriously, can Fox think of nothing better to cover? The Wisconsin protests? The planned Republican CDC and IRS budget cuts? Was it a slow week, Fox? Of course not, you just felt like stamping on people's fun again.

*sigh*

Well in Fox News' defense, Duke Nukem is technically sexist and over the line. They just can't understand that it being so over-the top is what makes it great!

But that is what makes the game Duke Nukem Forever! That IS why he was so popular and unique in the first place. Fox News has always had their own heads up their own asses.
Somehow I guess that Fox knows it's supposed to be sexist and offensive, rather than they made a tame game and then a programmer dropped a keyboard down a flight of stairs and put some sexist code in by accident.

Took them long enough. I'm surprised it's taken this long for them to actually catch wind of the thing XD

Fox News is run by very smart people. The know their audience and spin their stories accordingly. In fact, I would say it was rather sloppy of them to catch up this late.

I can't really see any injustice being done here. Unless the game turns out to be completely different from what it's promotional material implies, I'd say the claims of "awfully sexist world" and "meant to objectify women" seem pretty accurate. Sure, it's intentional, but it's the kind of intentional outrage and humor that doesn't work with everyone. I wouldn't blame anyone for claiming Duke Nukem (or Bulletstorm for that matter) crosses the line, seeing how that is pretty much the intention to begin with.

These kind of games are guilty pleasures, let's stand for that and not defend them more than needed.

You cant blame FOX for jumping in on something like this. All their regular staff who make up stories are on vacation right now. They had to choose something to make up stories about, odds are their "go-to" jar is filled with scraps of paper that read Barack Obama or Video Games.

I like how they say it is harmful to young women. Young women aren't going to be playing this you idiots.

"...the game's "awfully sexist world." The authors write that it "takes sexism to a new level," they pepper in a quote from a videogame writer that Forever is "meant to objectify women" without any context, and they say that developer Gearbox "may have crossed the line this time." The article also brings in an expert from the Women's Media Center that says Duke Nukem Forever "is even more offensive" than 1996's Duke Nukem 3D (has she actually played Duke Nukem's shooter debut?), and that the game's "depictions of women are extremely harmful, especially to young women."

Hahahahahahah

I get it!

Im pretty freakin sure the real media (ala News/Magazine/Internet/Film/Music..etc) already does that shit about 80% of the time you see a woman.

FOX = Comedy!

Once again, Fox chooses to ignore the existence of the ESRB. The game is rated M. Young people, of either gender, Won't Be Allowed To Play It.

Chances are that all this will amount to is free advertising for the game, but still; do Fox research anything before they broadcast it?

thank you once again fox news, for without you how would I have ever figured out that duke nukem is the sort of game that could warp my precious squishy mind. you have once again protected me from content that would without doubt have sent me spiraling into a life of misogyny, violence and steroid abuse.

I'm okay now

I'm sure there is no end to the sexism about a parody action hero only taking action against an invading alien force, not when they plunder our resources, stomp out our military, destroy our cities but when they screw with our women!

Full agreement with the article, play the game... or at the very least, Fox... RESEARCH IT...

Couldn't resist!

Duke Nukem was basically created to get exactly this kind of publicity. If FOX hadn't covered Duke Nukem it would be a kind of failure on Gearbox's part :p
