FOX to Recast Futurama

Without Billy West, there is no Futurama. I'm not going to point fingers and blame either side until I hear more information, but I know I will not be watching the new series with the voice cast and writers drastically cut. At the rate this is going, there is no point in bringing the show back at all. I was looking forward to it too, until this mess.

Absolute fuckers. How can you just replace all the voice actors?! The characters' voices are how we can identify when Futurama is on in the other room, or who's talking when you're not looking at the screen, and we've grown to love those voices. This is like trying to re-release a food product with a completely different flavour.

Things like this are what's wrong with companies today. An honest worker can't make a decent wage because penny-pinching executives would rather pay one quarter of his salary to someone else who's about one tenth as qualified for the job (if even that much). I mean honestly, is the President of Fox saving-up for a new mansion? What could their money possibly be tied-up in that they can't pay a few voice actors the salaries that they deserve?

Who knows how much the actors demanded, perhaps they were being so unreasonable fox had no choice but to say no.

Sounds like they are still arguing about the pay for the actors, this could just be a scare tactic to show the actors they will replace them if they don't lower their demands.

Interesting that no-one (fixed below) criticized the actors for setting the bar too high, I'm not saying FOX aren't being dicks, but FOX is a business, if the pay is higher then the profit (huge simplification, I know) that they won't make the show at all.

I wonder why no fans are angry at the actors, like "If Billy West(Fry) really loved this show he should accept a pay cut" and are all "If FOX loved the show they would accept a profit margin cut". Just wondering.

EDIT: Upon a closer inspection of the comments I see this has been mentioned before, but still a minority to the "FUCK FOX" opinion.

Yeah if they recast i'll watch an episode to see how it is. If it sucks, Comedy Central for the real Futurama.

Fuck Fox. I'm guessing they can explain the new voices by the characters going into a parallel dimension or something but it just won't be right. It's weird enough when you watch Season 1 of Family Guy and Meg has a completely different voice, it's just going to be messed up having the whole cast of Futurama with different voices. I wonder if they're actually going to try and mimic the original voices or just fuck it up completely.

I thought the way they left it with last film was perfect (the wild green yonder) I would feel a bit weird with the same case but a brand new one is just stupid. The voices were perfect for the characters anyone else will be cheap imitations
