Actually as I recall the whole area was under curfew and technically nobody should have been on the street, and had the cops wanted to could have detained him. I understand why they would prioritize other things at that moment, but he shouldn't have been there lawfully, let alone intelligently. Not to mention his stated purpose there was to defend someone else's property, which being a security guard without a license is also a crime.

It is however intensely funny that the "2A is god" crowd have picked a certified moron to be their hero. It perfectly encapsulates the position.

I might be going out on a limb here, but they seem to be going for a 70's/Ripley look; the hair, the pilot-esque jacket, the square face.
We've moved past 'she's not conventionally attractive' into 'if she ain't anime, she's an ugly b*tch' since the start of 2024. This character is very conventionally attractive; skinny, white, inoffensive looking facial features. So was Aloy. Even that semblance of logic (not being conventionally attractive), as juvenile and embarressing as it was, has made way for just hatred of female characters that have even a sliver of realistic rendering.
Again, not me, that's the complaint many make when that teenager that was gonna be a doctor gets shot when out at like 2am. You guys are using the same logic as racists in the Rittenhouse incident, not me. It's America, you can be out anywhere anytime and nobody gives up their right to defend themselves.
It's very common to have a story of a teen killed at like 2am with like straight As or gonna be a doctor or whatever. Then, people ask what were they doing out at 2am. That's what you guys are doing with Rittenhouse. I'm just pointing the hypocrisy of you all.

Maybe it's just from living next door to a pub in a fairly busy town for a few years, but people of any stripes n shades hanging round at 2am on same street ain't really a problem, they can be there whether they got business or not as long as everyone's ok and having fun. Leave the kids alone grandad!
There's a reason why "teen night" was put in quotes in the article... Teens shouldn't be out to 2am at a bar and teen nights don't go until 2am either. Violent crimes increase during the night and as such kids shouldn't be out without their parents/guardians. And if said teen was attacked, they'd be able to defend themselves regardless of it they weren't supposed to be there or not. Same with Rittenhouse. Anyways, that was Rittenhouse's community, you guys act like he traveled there. And regardless of the reason you go anywhere, you are entitled to defend yourself if someone attacks you. There's a reason there was a consensus among the jurors, it was a pretty easy case.

I know, Im super late on this. Somebody asked me, as a xennial, what craziness I would live to see and it occurred to me that I may be alive when Florida is under water. I did some research and yeah apparently based on trends in water levels, even if we stop global warming today, Ill be alive when the coast of Florida ceases to exist. The state will, even if things go well, be like 2/3rds its current size. I mentioned it on reddit and was inundated with posts about missing the boat on the funniest fuckin rant ever.

Japan is a crazy place. Post WII they became insanely fixated on the US. The entirety of modern Japanese culture emulates the US. There was even an uprising in the 50s from Japanese fundamentalists where they tried to overthrow the government because they were becoming too western and wanted a return to fuedalism.We fought each other in a World War. Only time will tell when Japan tries to advance itself as a first world military power again. The path forward is clearly as a US ally.
It honestly makes sense. Things are going to change drastically in the next 10 years economically speaking. The US is making a play on the world stage by investing in Intel locally. Japan is in an awkward position on many fronts. The time is nigh to ingratiate themselves, no matter how icky it might feel.
Wouldn't that require an amendment to their post-War constitution? As I understand it they're legally obligated to maintain a strict defensive posture, with all their capability focused on repelling aggression rather than force projection. Hell the branches are named as Self Defence Force.
Exactly and what better moment in history to renegotiate Japans position than when when Russia is invading the baltic states, china is threatening to annex Taiwan, and the middle east is facing an existential threat from both Israel and Afghanistan? You don't need nuclear war, all you need a slice of yellow cake.

I seem to recall the game being criticised as rather jank but lacking the compelling and in-depth story telling of say, Vampire the Masquerade. But there was something to be said about vamping out and eating Nazis.
But I can think of worse characters to bring back. Like really lean into that part of her history and get Rayne to start chowing down on the Neo-Nazi movement.
