The Joe Rogan Experience has long dominated the podcast chart, but this month he slipped down into the second spot, according to Podscribe. His podcast was downloaded and played 48.6 million times, a 32 percent decrease from the previous month. The MeidasTouch Podcast took top spot with 56 million downloads and plays, increasing in reach by 101 percent this month.

MeidasTouch was founded by three brothers Ben, Brett and Jordy Meiselas. It is described on its website as: "A pro-democracy news network," the organization first started with creating viral videos and political ads opposing Trump and supporting Democratic candidates.

The podcast is critical of Trump, and in the most recent episode, Ben Meiselas said "The buck stops with you, whether Trump wants to admit it or not, he needs to take responsibility for everything that is going on and I think it is up to the people to hold him responsible and I know that's what we're gonna do here every single day."

This is funny in that you will get people defending this and saying it's nothing like fascism or dictatorships at all and a totally sane and normal thing to happen in a democracy.

(Reddit comment summary)
This executive order reinforces presidential authority over executive branch agencies, including independent regulatory agencies, to ensure accountability and alignment with the President’s policies. It asserts that all executive power is vested in the President, who is responsible for supervising and controlling executive officials. The order criticizes previous administrations for allowing independent agencies to function with minimal oversight, arguing that this weakens accountability to the American people.

Key provisions include:

Presidential Supervision of Regulations – All executive departments and independent agencies must submit significant regulatory actions for review by the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) before publication.

Increased Oversight of Independent Agencies – The order requires independent agencies to coordinate with the White House, including submitting strategic plans for approval and establishing White House Liaison positions.

Budgetary Control – The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is tasked with reviewing and adjusting independent agencies’ budgets to align with presidential priorities.

4. Legal Interpretation Authority – The President and Attorney General have the final say on legal interpretations within the executive branch, and no employee may take a contrary legal position unless authorized.

5. Implementation and Limitations – The order is to be executed in accordance with existing laws and available funding but does not create any enforceable legal rights.

Overall, the order centralizes executive authority, reduces the autonomy of independent regulatory agencies, and strengthens the President’s control over federal rulemaking and policy execution.

Yet the people defending this are getting screwed over, and are either too stupid or don't care, so long as everyone goes down with them, or thinking they'll be part of the rich elite "some day".

Or they are Christian end times accelerationists who think Trump has been sent by god to play the role of the Antichrist, or he's Jesus, or something, I don't know exactly they're all insane.
But the destruction of everything good in the world is their goal regardless.

Also this executive order makes it crystal clear that they have no intention of ever holding a fair election again, because they would obviously never allow any democratic president to have these powers.

What? Do you just say random things? They are using the democratic system the way it can be used to do what they want to do. Any president/administration can do this, FDR did this...

And yet, the world will contain less suffering as a result. Something like this makes people think twice about jumping a border. Taking the option of disappearing into another country off the table will incentivize people to do better in the places they are. Making this a public spectacle takes away lies that human traffickers use to take people's money in return for passage to a country is not the paradise they've been promised, where they're being driven for economic exploitation.

Hiding suffering from the public eye encourages more suffering to happen.
Fetishing the suffering of others is sick and evil and that is what you are for defending this.

Would it though? Its not like the migrants come to the global north just for a thrill seeking adventure. They come to flee, be it from violence or just from poverty. Getting dragged into a plane while in chains might not be fun, but on average it still beats starving or getting shot at. Its still a better option to take the calculated risk of getting deported than it is to stay put and suffer. The chains might be humiliating but its merely the already calculated risk of deportation with a few extra bells and whistles.

Even if the deportation officials are as violent as the US law allows it would likely still be better treatment then they get from the cops back home.

In the calculated risk nothing has changed that would give them reason to change course.

But they're supposed to want to stay in their own country and suffer and die horribly, instead of coming here and making me look at brown people!

Slightly before I was born, the parish my family is a part of decided to build a new church to replace the one that was starting to fall apart. They came to an agreement with a small firm to build the new building for us, with half of the payment up front and half to be delivered upon completion. The brothers who owned the company accepted the first half, cashed it out, and then immediately fled the country to Mexico. If they believed they would be caught, chained up, and returned to the US, they probably wouldn't have fled to Mexico, they likely would not have committed the crime at all.

America's permissive immigration stance encourages bad or evil decisions in other countries by offering people an escape plan. Even the people who move with innocent intentions are being encouraged toward the wrong behaviors. Poverty is not inherent to the global south, nor is it non-existent in the north, and if the solution offered to those with the ambition to escape poverty is "just flee north", the south as a whole will never find prosperity.

So, someone does a crime and everyone else should be punished?

I should say alleged crime here

Yeah, but that's like saying that Christianity is primarily about the Torah and not heavily focused on their own "little appendix" they added. Or likewise for Islam.
Muslims don't call themselves the Church of Jesus Christ and latter day Prophet, though.

....

Since GlomarResponder was first created in 2012, the account has posted hateful, xenophobic, and pro-fascist content. “America is a White nation, founded by Whites. … Our country should favor us,” GlomarResponder wrote last month. “All blacks are foreign to my people, dumb fuck,” the account posted in September of last year. “Freedom of association hasn’t existed in this country since 1964 at the absolute latest,” GlomarResponder wrote four months prior, further clarifying the post was referring to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 in a reply to a comment. “I’m not a commie, I’m a fascist,” GlomarResponder posted a couple weeks later. “Fascists solve communist problems. Get your insults right, retard.”
In August, GlomarResponder posted: “‘Migrants’ are all criminals.” Two months later, GlomarResponder shared an image that reads: “It is our holy duty to guard against the foreign hordes.” Some GlomarResponder posts evoke anti-immigrant violence: “Nobody is proposing feeding migrants into tree shredders,” the account posted in March 2024. “Yet. Give it a few more weeks at this level of invasion, and that will be the moderate position.” And in January: “My WWII vet grandfather didn’t get a chance to kill asians, so he volunteered for Korea. He’d be asking for a short term job with ICE kicking doors and swinging a baton.”
Rodden’s ICE employment is confirmed by federal court records, background interviews, and Observer courtroom visits.
