This is for the pc. As is all stupid digital distribution.
Uhh I take it you haven't heard of the Playstation Plus service then. The PSN subscription service that will give you a few games per month. Unless you decide you no longer want to pay that subscript fee then you walk away with nothing.

Curse it, I stand corrected.

Here's a nifty review by Gizmodo if anyone is interested: http://gizmodo.com/5567770/onlive-streaming-game-service-tested-at-home-finally?skyline=true&s=i

I can only really see Onlive being useful for someone that has no consoles, and a crappy PC. And even still a PS3 is just $300 and arcade xbox 360 veriosn is only $150. That's certainly not gonna break the bank.

Even if I were interested in onlive, and connection speed requirement, and those damn bandwidth caps kill the idea for me anyway.

Rather either have a copy of the game in my hot little hands or if I need to rent a game rather do gamefly.

It's shit like this why digital distribution won't work.

@Topic

This has officially destroyed any interest I have in OnLive.
Yeah, I got banned from steam for no reason when I had like $70 on there, but I also on another account got taken away around $15-$30, so in conclusion, steam is a rip off.
Ummm may i ask why you were banned in the first place, because in my experience Steam and Valve have been nothing but courteous to their users and will only ban you if you majorly breach their TOS.
No clue, it just said that my account was disabled, and I have no idea why.
Did you contact them, and ask about your account? Do it, if you spent some money on there you should at least find out why. They may have made a mistake. Really Contact them what is the worst that can happen?

banned for no reason? steam doesn't ban you unless you are an account hijacker or a huge douche. pick one reason.
I got banned for no reason as well. Lost access to all my games in the process and Steam wouldn't re-open my account because I don't keep receipts for games that are 5 years old. Steam can definitely be a ripoff, I agree.

Also, I never account hijacked, I never used cheats/aimbots/etc and I'm certainly not a "huge douche", Steam basically singled me out for no real reason and wouldn't even explain why. Haven't used Steam in quite a while and it's really no skin off my back, they just lost sales because of their shitty policy.
or both of you used cracks or tried to pirate a steam only game.
Actually steam games were some of the few games that I had not pirated. Now I simply pirate them, I say fuck Steam basically. You could say they left a bad taste in my mouth after the lame crap they put me through. I never used cracks on steam games since I had legit serials for them.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. No way. No way in hell. Even with a gun to my head you couldn't get me to subscribe to this.

Wow, their EULA must be a sight to behold. That's like Steam deleting your account because you haven't played in a while... There'd be lawsuits up the ass! Also, it already LAUNCHED? Hell, even I didn't know that and I'm browsing the Escapist every day. This will be a catastrophic failure of a "console".

After being banned from Steam*, I don't trust products tied to an account. Just doesn't seem smart to buy a bunch of stuff to have it taken from you because the owners of a service say so, regardless of their reasons. I'm only nineteen and I'm feeling nostalgic about the days when "owning" something meant actually owning it. That's just wrong. There should be no "The good ol' days" at my age. There shouldn't!

*I bought a game and gifted it to a friend. They charged me twice for this and wouldn't reverse the charge since they assumed I gifted the extra copy. Called my bank and had them deal with it. Was promptly banned. Just to note, I didn't even have a copy of it tied to my account. FIFA Manager 10 isn't my kind of game.

another digital distro ftl moment, proudly brought to you by yet another stupid company that wants too much control and/or is too incompetent to do it properly.
