Games that genuinely make you angry.

Frustration wise, I think left 4 dead 2 has always been a frustrating game - certainly a good game too of course.
But those moments when it's the AI or one simple mistake that fucks everything over, it can be damn frustrating - not to mention when playing versus, and the damage you deal - no matter how much it is, never seems to count for anything because 9/10 times they'll just heal up and continue on their way, and it makes the whole thing seem pointless.

It's probably the angriest any one game has made me, but it's still good, despite it's tenancy to make ones self rage-quit more often than not.

I love Street Fighter, but sometimes it makes me want to break my controller in half and scream at something.
Games that make me mad because they're awful? Dante's Inferno. Partially because they had a brilliant oppurtunity to make something amazing and they blew it big time, and second because it's just absolutely stupid in every meaning of the word. Perhaps it's because I hold Dante Alighieri in high regards (he's a pretty cool dude, believe it or not), but seriously, I can't wrap my mind around how anyone could do something so stupid!
Oh, and then I saw this:

I... I need to lie down for a minute or two. I simply can't handle this.

That one section in Halo: Reach, where you have to reach the BFG. On Legendary. Rage-quitted. Three. Damn. Times.

Pokemon Black and White for obvious reasons.

Mainly because it's a step back in the wrong direction in terms of the game series and people are praising it. Now a sequel is confirmed for it. A 2 year time lapse does not make a game a sequel, especially when there are no new elements to be found compare to it's "prequel."
Actually, looking at the trailers, there's a more 'international' Pokédex (the walkthrough video showed the protagonist bumping into an Azurill) and have a different map, at least in some areas. So it's a lot more different than Crystal/Emerald/Platinum were.
Exactly. Black and White 2 is more of a third installment than a sequel, yet they claim that a time lapse constitutes a sequel. Also, including a NationalDex into Gen 5 from the get go kind of undermines the whole point of the previous versions. Also, in Crystal/Emerald/Platinum the Pokedex had a combination of new and older Pokemon in the mix; Black and White was suppose to be 150+ exclusives, at least until you complete the main story.

Someone should watch some of those trailers. Besides, Golden Sun did it.

For Golden Sun, did you mean Lost Age or Dark Dawn?

Lost Age was like Golden Sun Part 2, as it continues and makes connections to it's previous title while exploring a completely new area, gaining new and old abilities, and continuing the story while providing a lot of extra dialogue to make the game it's own.

Dark Dawn is like a sequel, as it follows the events that took place in the previous game. Also, it includes many new characters and elements, many of which reference the previous games.

In terms of Megaman X6, yes, it is probably the most difficult game in the X series (at almost Megaman Zero difficulty).

Fuck that shit, yo.
Oh but the sweet sweet joy you will feel when you get all the items. Its quite miraculous. Also the Fetus in a Jar powerup snaps the game in half. If you get that in the first or second level, be careful and you will basically be guaranteed victory.

OT: Tribes Ascend as an infiltrator. Dying to so many random thumper shots, or a single stray bullet that breaks my stealth so that hundreds of turrets turn me into confetti. So much anger...so much rage..

The only game that has ever made me genuinely angry, I'd say it would have to be Captain Forever for the PC. XD Honestly, that is the only game that seriously pisses me off when I play it, but yet I keep coming back to it just because it still is fun from time to time. Sure, I rage quit whenever I notice that the only enemies to advance me are those little fast shooting bastards that seem to always dodge my hits. It's even more annoying when you want their weapons so you feel compelled to try and destroy them with minimal damage to their weapons and engines, but seem to always destroy them by accident. XD I can't think of any other game that has gotten me as mad as that game did.

I got a PS3 fairly recently, which came with Uncharted 3 in the pack. I may as well have rubbed salt into my eyes for 9 hours. I was new to the games, so I was expecting the unexpected, but dodgy controls, a 'hammer this button now' melee style, and got to the point where I was thinking if this prick utters the phrase 'this is so not cool' one more time, I'm taking him out and selling him into a life of miserable inexorable slavery. I ended up taking him out and exchanging him for a dragon, which was much less inclined to use sarcasm.

Hyperdimension Neptunia. If the non-contextual pop culture references, stupid combat, random-chance healing, repetitive dungeons, copy-pasted textures, low quality graphics, annoying music didn't put you off, then the shameless fanservice will seal the deal. I didn't even buy the sequel because... well, look at the box art and answer me this: could you REALLY take that up to the counter and say "I want to buy this game" while retaining your dignity?

Team Fortress 2.

WHOSE IDEA WAS IT FOR RANDOM CRITICAL HITS?
Really? I mean, it makes it awesome when you get one...which I think is the point.

OT: Mass Effect 1. Just wasn't fun. Felt broken.

Seth - Street Fighter IV
Wolf - Super Smash Bros. Brawl (F'ing blaster spam)
Kai Leng - Mass Effect 3 (Cheap)
Banshees - Mass Effect 3 (SP and MP)
Snipers - Any FPS game. Shooting someone in the leg shouldn't mean instant death...

Black ops single player is excessively pathetic.

I very much enjoyed CoD1&2 and all the Modern Warfare Campaigns, but black ops is just awful on so many different levels. The weapons are wonky, everything feels extremely unpolished. The situations and writing are excessively contrived. But I'm a very hard person to genuinely make mad, and none of that really annoyed me. What annoyed me was that my allies could(and would) stand right out in the open and I would be hiding in the back behind cover. And the entire enemy force would shoot only at me, and entirely ignore the dudes standing out in the open. It made parts of the game excessively hard, stagnated the gameplay, and made absolutely no sense. It is legitimately one of the worst AI design decisions I have ever seen, but hey that's Treyarch for you.

Any multiplayer game with automatic matchmaking (lacking a search option with multiple filters) and no LAN or local multiplayer support.

Any cover-based shooter with a button-press cover mechanic that glues and unglues you to the wall. Also, any shooter without 1:1 mouse support (which I have used playing Unreal Tournament III on a PS3 before... only console shooter I could ever stand).

Dead Rising 2 got me pretty frustrated.

It's a sandbox game where every single mission is on a timer.

Urgh.
Yeah that's pretty much the reason I have never bought it. I hate timed games.

Personally I think The Witcher is really sexist and it makes me feel kind of ill to play it...I was annoyed that Risen 2 sees fit to follow it's example although I might be able to ignore it I guess :/

Yeah, I agree with this - that game annoyed me too. I wanted to play it as the first was fun, so I rented it....completed it twice in a short amount of time. Starkiller was an extremely unlikable character. Story was awful. Gameplay was quite boring and tedious. The humour was ridiculous and unneeded. Just bleh.

Watching my housemate play A1s or online on Soul Calibur is always fun. Bots can read your input and a lot of players spam...but I guess that's the same on any fight game.

it's not that bad. there's one for basement, one for caves, one for depths and one for womb, but none for sheol.

also they don't stack, so you can take damage in the depths but still get the no womb damage one. that being said, they're all still hard as fuck, as despite being able to clear the base game with all characters, i can't beat sheol at all =[
