A strange little game that was too much fun for its own good.

I can't believe I forgot about this game!
I think I still look at Playstation 1 era as the glory days. There were SO MANY cool little titles like this, some bad, some good.

I liked dressing up as a ninja and kickin' ass.

Freelancer anyone?
Freelancer was awesome! I loved that game! I really miss space combat games like that. :(
Quest.
I was always a bit disappointed with the combat of Freelancer. Compared to the developers previous game - Starlancer - it felt too arcady. If you want awesome fun space combat, go look Starlancer up. No one else seems to remember it apart from me. Only problem is that is can be a bit unstable and crash-prone. Combine that with missions which can take 30mins, can be really hard, and have no save points mid-mission, and you have a recipe for anger.

OT: No one seems to remember Mask of The Betrayer - the first expansion for Neverwinter Nights 2. In my mind it's one of the best RPGs of the last decade, having both fun gameplay and the best story/characters bar none for the last 10 years. The only downside is that it's best played after Neverwinter Nights 2, which is an awesome game in its own right but can be a little hard to get in to. Not to mention daunting due to the range of classes available.

Star Wars: Jedi Power Battles.

A very liberally interpreted plot of Episode I, a steep learning curve, some dodgy graphics and glitches galore. But me and my mates absolutely loved it.

So there's a game coming out soon called Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes, on the Wii and PS3 which some of you may have heard of. It's kinda like Dynasty Warriors.
Is it based on that anime Sengoku Basara?

Donkey Kong for the Game Boy. A great game, but nobody remembers it!

Did you ever play Bubsy 3D? God that game was terrible.
Nah, I've only ever played the SNES version. I was pretty young but apparently I liked it.
I liked Bubsy, but I never understood what he said in the beginning of the game. "Rocket rocket, way around." What?

If no one remembers it, no one can type it here.
freaky paradox, sort of like:

"No one goes to that restaurant, it's too crowded."

well spotted.

OT: probably Turok. The first games were great, but no one seemed to play the xbox 360 version...

I've actually been looking for a copy of that, so far no luck except overpriced eBay stuff... One day...

OT: Black, it's probably my favorite shooter ever and it sold pretty well from what I hear. I've been waiting and waiting for a sequel and now all I can say is I'm awfully disappointed with Bodycount... It looks like your average shooter with minimal story :/ Black had a unique atmosphere and was so engaging, and unlike a lot of people I really dug those interrogation cutscenes.

It was a DOS game and damn good one.

Clive Barker's Undying

It was a gem of horror games, shame it didn't sell well.

You want to talk about a game that nobody would remember? There's this one games I remember for the PC called "Witches"... a Point-and-click kind of adventure game. Some game where you are a young witch and you have to find out why your sisters went bat-shit crazy.

I had scoured the internet for so many years trying to find out the name of this game, and it wasn't until about february I found out the name of the game, and since then I've trying to find someone who remotely remembers the game. CDos abandonware has absolutely no information about this game, and any website that once had this game available for download no longer has this game.

Given the subject I feel a bit weird dito-ing previous posts but, yeah: Total annihilation and Sacrifice are both great and original strategy games. I start a new campaign of sacrifice regularly while my Starcraft 2 copy is already rathering dust.

Both are available on good old games btw (assuming they don't pull another half-assed pretend-to-close marketing stunt), so grouchy imp, I hate to say it but 50 quid may not have been that great a deal (unless you really liked having a hard copy of course)
