Not counting the endless list of Pre-PS2 games that I played, but never finished (mostly due to being just a kid and had to borrow from friends, and never could finish in time.), my list of more recent ones includes.

Pokemon White: Got distracted by Dragon Quest V
Dragon Quest V: Got distracted by Rune Factory 2
Rune Factory 2: Got distracted by Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker
Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker: Got distracted by Disgaea 4.

^^; As you can see, I have a pretty bad habit of 'Oh that game looks interesting! *Buys*'
Right now I'm balancing between Disgaea 4 and Skyrim. ^^

Gears of War - played it for an hour, maybe hour and a half. It was so tedious and boring that I just had to throw it away and never return to it.

Manhunt 2 - hilarious executions aside, pretty boring. I didn't feel compelled to play it any more after a few hours...

There's probably more, but I can't remember anything else worth mentioning. I tend to finish most of my games, just so I can get the whole picture and judge them fairly.

Probably quite a few if I sat down and thought about it.

Final Fantasy XII would be the best example for me as I've twice got nearly all the way through and twice not finished it. It simply is a poor game and I really wanted to finish it both times just for the sake of finishing all Final Fantasy games from FFV upwards.

Oh Gears of War would be another, was so bad I couldn't bare to play any more, how the game got two sequels is beyond my understanding.

Just to break up the negativity of mentioning games I didn't finish because I didn't like them I'll also mention Dark Souls. I really liked everything about Dark Souls, but I just didn't have the skill to finish it. Maybe one day I'll go back to it.

Metal Gear Solid 4. I sucked up the ludicrously long install time. I sucked up the completely dumb story and characters. Then I got to that part in the very early game where that guy and his monkey devote 20 minutes to teaching you how to buy stuff in the most excruciatingly long way the developers could think of. I got halfway through it before I got sick of it and just skipped the scene, only to find out that at the end of this cutscene was a relatively major revelation which I'd just missed.

At that point I took the disc out of my PS3 and it's never gone back in.

Mirrors Edge- Fall of something, loading screen, fall of something, loading screen, fall off something, loading screen. I love watching game play footage of it though, but I do not have the patience for it.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 - Didn't even make it past the loading screen.

Prince of Persia: Two Thrones - Might one day, but got the Trilogy and played the first two consecutively so I was POP'd out and the games to get progressively worse.

I never finished Metroid Prime 3, for some reason. I actually did the same with Prime 2: I stopped playing it for about five years then came back to it and beat it, but Corruption remains incomplete. I don't know why though, I really enjoyed it and was very close to the end. I think I got pissed off looking for the last energy cell or something.

Also, Pokémons FireRed; HeartGold; White. I have never been good with the Pokémon League and with an increase in time I have only gotten worse.

The Illusion of Time on the SNES.

The ratio of 'desire to continue' vs. 'confusion about HOW to continue' was unfavourable.

Never really took to it, but then again I was a highly sensitive child who was genuinely scared by the ghost world of Mario 64.

Mass Effect 1 - It was a while ago so I'm not sure why, but now I feel like finishing it. I'm probably not going to bother.

Fallout 3 - Bethesda games as a whole tend to put me off because of their movement and controls. One of few reasons I haven't touched Skyrim. Mass Effect has given me similar nuisances but it interested me enough to stay with them (and the first for the most part). I never got far into this so that may be why I haven't touched it. I might start playing this soon.

Final Fantasy XIII - I got about 20 hours in (to where it actually becomes more like the FF series), however I know from experience the area I'm up to WILL require several hours of grinding. As this game isn't as stimulating as the others have been, I have not touched it since.

Probably more games, but these the the biggest/most recent 3.

Two spring to mind but i've probably not finished more.

Vanquish - there was just other games i was more interested in, and the main character's voice got on my nerves.

Resident Evil: Code Veronica X - tried multiple times but something always fucked up, on example is that the prison island and the antartic section had seperate deposit boxes so when i left the fire extinguisher in the prison's box and needed it almost immediatly when i arrived in the antartic i was stuck without any option other then to restart the whole game again. then there was the lack of ammo/herbs that whittled me down.

I stoped not finishin my games 2 years ago , so my list of unfinished games are quite short ( not counting the games i haven't even started). It's been two years that i decided to revisite ever game i haven't finished and replay them to the end , no matter what .

This is the list i failed to keep my promis to .

L.A Noire , got to arson then just couldn't do it anymore
Metroid other M, need i say more?
Resonance of fate, for some reason i can't get the hang of combat , i will come backto this game though.
Agrest war :zero, so boring , but i will go back
FFXIII-2, fuck you moogle.
Silent hill 2, so scary , but i will finish it eventually .

That is all , but considering i played about 100 games in the last 2 years start to finish , it's not that bad a track record.

Oooh, a long list for me.

Happens to me a lot when I play JRPGs; I get really into it, only to hit a wall and then almost immediately loose interest. It's usually from a particularly difficult boss I can't beat, and don't feel like going back to grinding levels, or I get lost somewhere and get sick of trying to get un-lost. This happened with Pokemon Diamond, Chrono Trigger and Dragon Quest IX. Other than that, in no particular order:

Donkey Kong Country Returns

Zack and Wiki

Little King's Story

Zelda: Spirit Tracks

NOTE: I do intend to finish all these games one day. That day just hasn't come yet.

I'm somewhat ashamed to say Ratchet and Clank 2. And more recently Dark Souls. After about 20 hours, or a third of the way in, I kept getting invaded by other people and didn't have the skill to beat them on my own so once I'd used up all my humanities I wasn't able to summon others for help. I might go back to it some day but I have "to play" list that's about 20 games long and Dark Souls was just too slow paced so I felt that if I stayed at it I'd be there for ages before I actually finished it.

Harry Potter and the goblet of fire: It was just too awful. I would have finished it, if it'd just let me keep progressing through the levels, but it's one of those games where in order to unlock the next level, you have to keep going back to the previous levels to collect a certain amount of random shit. Fuck. That.

Timesplitters: 9 levels that don't have anything to do with each other or any kind of story, and I only ever beat 8.

XIII: No particular reason. In fact I liked that game. It had Adam West in it. If I ever find myself with a lack of games to play, I might give this one another shot.

Splinter cell: Got to the second level. Got stuck. Couldn't be bothered playing it anymore.

Marvel nemesis rise of the imperfects: I was on one of the very last levels, but I just got stuck. Not a very good game, but I might try again some day, because of how close I was to finishing it.

LotR the third age: Got a reasonable distance into it. Enemies started getting more powerful faster than I was levelling up. Ragequit.

Spider-man 3: Got too difficult. Wasn't enjoying it enough to try harder.

Tomb raider anniversary: Actually I quite liked this one aswell, and may revisit it at some point in the future.

For me it is never an issue with my time if I like a game i'm going through however there are some that I played constantly but never finished the campaign.
Battlefield 3 (over 150 hours MP but could never finish SP to boring and couldn't finish)
MW3 (1 hour total turned it off tried another half hour 3 games MP 2 with hackers just couldn't be bothered with this at all)

For a game I wish I hadn't finished of course Mass effect 3 finish on veteran first play through so brilliant wished I gave up after marauder shields
If I ever leave a game alone they are just not good enough and I never feel regrets for not doing them in the end its the makers fault for not making a better game.
