I believe someone mentioned Outcast already so has anyone played:

Thief:The Dark Project

Hidden and Dangerous

Anno 1701 (or its predecessors)

Rise and Fall Civilizations at War

Freelancer

Dreamfall

Delta Force

Black and White
Thief:The Dark Project is one of my favorites. It had fan sites, 2 sequels and healthy modding community.

Freelancer. I played the crap out of this one. Great game.

Black and White. You had to love micro-managing to get into this one. I bet a lot of people gave up on it halfway like I did.

Psychonants (even with Yahtzee's review)

Darwinia, which, while not a bad game, is too short on its campaign.
I freaking loved Psychonats. Such an awesome game.

Otogi - Played it. Didn't hate it. I found it was a little glitchy in places though.

No one I know has ever played G-police on the ps1. I loved playing it and just flying around shooting civilians
G-Police was a great game I had the PS1 AND the PC version, but the PC version was fricking impossible to control. And learn to punctuate and spell please =].

Let's see. First, I'll have to mention System Shock 2 and Deus Ex, though they are apparently a bit more popular than I thought when I first played them.

Likewise, the X-com series, which seems to be one of those gems that a decent size group of the population knows about and everyone else stares at you like you're retarded when you bring it up.

The Master of Orion series, which by the fact that there is three of them seems like it was popular at some point, but no one I meet ever seems to have heard of it.

Master of Magic, a game I have yet to meet ANYONE other than my brother who has actually played, and a game so good that both of us have gone to great lengths to get this old DOS platform game to actually run as recent as a couple months ago... That's definitely a record for me, at least, to still be playing a 15 year old game that is now a pain to run due to compatibility issues, but it was that fun.

More recently, Mage Knight: Apocalypse, which after playing it for a couple hours is pretty obvious why not so many people have heard of it. Though not truly shitty, it's pretty damn shallow, and couldn't convince me to care about anything it had to offer.

Found a copy of this in a game store today and they didn't have the disk...I guess I'll have to look online.

Also, someone mentioned Shadow Hearts...just started on the first one and I'm really loving it.

Theme hospital - only cause you couldn't get it for love nor money anywhere.

coughs and sneezes spread diseases. :D

I remember this one bit, where the receptionist said "a VIP has entered the building". 10 minutes later he was found walking into a wall just by the door o_O?
"Patients are reminded not to die in the corridors." - Always used to get a laugh out of that game.

'hok. See if anyone else has played these:

- Herzog Zwei
- King of Dragon Pass
- Terminal Velocity
- Dark Reign

Not so much underrated games, but ones you have played (good or bad) that seem to have completely dropped off the gaming radar.

Mine was 'Sphinx and the Mummy' - glitchy and frustrating in places, but not bad enough to really hate...
I thought that game was great for the most part... totally worth $10.

Metal Storm. Really cool game on the NES. But, like so many really cool games on the NES, it was also hard as hell.

Games I played in 6th grade:
Nancy Drew and the Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake. Awesome. No, seriously.
Nancy Drew and the Treasure in Royal Tower. Sweet.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for PC. Hilarious.

Everyone's played CivIII, but CivIV?

The Romance of the Three Kingdoms, I loved that game for the PS2, and they kept making it, so I always wondered who the hell was playing it, because I don't know anyone that did.
