Diablo 2 and Crisis Core:Final Fantasy VII

Both of those games were so amazing. But Crisis Core's ending was probably one of the best I've seen in a very long time though it was sad.

Not one. If I would turn my eye from every critic then i would just be worshipping a game blindly. There are always games that we love, and we think are the greatest, but there is no such thing as a perfect game. Since no game is perfect, we should not blindly protect them from critics. When you do, you are a fanboy/girl rather than a fan.

Just wondering what games there are that you'd defend non-stop from criticism.

Mine would have to be Mafia and KotOR (two games that I mention in every other post). About 10 minutes ago I was looking for mafia 2 updates when I found a review for the original Mafia on Eurogamer so I thought I'd have a look. To my dismay, the reviewer had made the lynch-able mistake of comparing Mafia to GTA 3 which was released at a similar time.

He slagged off pretty much everything about the game and came up with some pretty stupid reasons for not liking the game, one was along the lines of:

"The game only allows you to take a few shots before you die - and if you're caught with a pump action shotgun in your face you'll be killed in a single shot."

I couldn't believe how pissed off I was that this guy had completely missed the point of the game, and was dismayed at the number of people who had decided not to get the game because of this review.

If the last comment hadn't of been written in 2002 I would of jumped straight in there!
Assassin's Creed, Haze, and Final Fantasy VIII.

Jet Set Radio Future, Breakdown, and American Mcgee's Alice. I love those three games more combined than any other game made. Hoping the Alice sequel is going to be good.

I don't know.. Parasite Eve 2. Greatest game ever? Maybe.
Is that the one that was a turn-based RPG? or was that the first one? I forget.
Also, American McGee's alice was brilliant.
A clever spin to a well-known tale.

I had a poster for that game a long time ago (almost half my life ago). I've been looking for the game recently but I can't seem to find it. Is it good? I've been wanting to play it ever since I first heard of it...

Halo and Fable are the ones I usually defend but if its a pointless argument I'll just leave it alone I really am not going to change someone's mind if they are dead set in their ways.

Only Diablo 2 and Neverwinter Nights. They have little to no flaws.

Every other game has a flaw that I can relate to, but those two - none.
Okay, I'll admit that I'm very ignorant on Diablo 2 as I have only played it a few times, but it seemed to me like the save system was inconvenient, either being unable to save before quitting because I hadn't finished a quest or having to backtrack through somewhat tedious areas due to spawning at the camp upon loading. Am I missing something?

OT: Chrono Trigger, Super Metroid, and Goldeneye. As for games that people are more likely to have a big gripe with, probably ES IV: Oblivion.

However, the fact that I defend something does not mean I think the game is by any means perfect.

Final Fantasy I and VIII, Breath Of Fire I and II, uhh, Pokemon Yellow, Silver, and Snap, A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Oracle of Ages/Seasons, ink to the Past/Four Swords, The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3 Corruption, The Legend Of Zelda: Windwaker, uhh, that should be just about it. It seems like I'm a Nintendo Fanboy but in reality I'm not. I just end up liking Nintendo Games more for some reason :/
