So...he held up a shop clerk and a customer, shot the clerk for no apparent reason...and stole a wii and a couple of games in the process? Really? Would've thought he would at least steal something thats of actual value instead of a Wii like...I dunno, a ps3 or 360 or even money? (sorry wii fans, thats just my opinion!)

But yes, in short, the robber is a prick.

Why would you Rob a GameStop?

Surely the friendliest shops on the high street are the Video game shops - I mean if we look at The UK's equivalent (GAME) everybody just wants to give you a high-five and tell you which games are awesome and Discuss Altair vs Solid Snake.

Maybe the Robber is just a prick - Honestly; If I was there and had a gun and possibly some Kevlar I would've told that robber to fuck off and leave the poor bloke alone.

Well, what was the point in that? He could have atleast taken something useful!

On Topic: What a dick that guy was, there was no motivation to shoot him.

I saw that he stole a Wii and knew ye ol' Wii hate would arise, hah!

I'll trust the robber to know what to steal to make the most profit seeing as he made a strategic move. Authorities would be more interested in aiding the injured man. This would allow an easier get-a-way for the criminal.

He's obviously a mix of intelligent and stupid.

Or, perhaps, I'm giving him too much credit. Besides, a Wii is easier to carry.

Still, this actually made me laugh a bit. It reminded me of some sort of sketch.

Secondary theory, he was a sadist.

It happened at a GAMESTOP store. It's not a coincidence.

It's happened specifically to GameStop shops before. One employee got killed on the job and one manager got tied up and had his car stolen.

And people hate GameStop in the USA because they rip people off and treat their employees like shit. Seriously. [http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/zero%2Boriginality/video/x6wnow_zero-originality-episode-1_videogames] There's a reason people out there blow the whistle on companies run by heretics [http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/zero+originality/video/x6wx7h_zero-originality-episode-2].

You know, I wouldn't have stole a Wii. I'd steal the most expensive consoles. I wonder what the robber was thinking. I guess he just wanted to use this robbery for his own personal gain instead of just selling it.

Anyways, I hope the clerk makes a full recovery and is not severely traumatized by this experience.

It was in Orlando.
My surprise is nonexistent.

Hope the guy gets better, though.

Well as long as he stole a Wii and no violent games for it we should be fine as far as industry not geting hit with any blame. (Though Wii chucks are deadly.)

Feel better GameStop guy.

He was shot for working for GameStop. We would all do it in that situation.
Why people have this unmitigated hate for Gamestop, I'll never know. I work there and I have yet to see an unethical business practice or mistreatment of customers.
I have no feelings for or against gamestop but I would imagine people aren't too happy about the trade in values they get for games. I'll use an example popular right now. Modern Warfare 2. 60 bucks new plus tax, trade in for the game is like 25 bucks(forgive me if im wrong but I went about a week ago to the store and can't remember well, used in the store it costs 55 bucks.

Like I said, don't know if that's where the hate comes from, when I buy a game I usually keep it forever or just give it away to a friend or something, but that certainly doesn't win people over.

OT: Some people are just plain ole dicks. This robber is clearly a sadist since he caused the guy pain for the sheer pleasure of it. A consience nowadays is very rare. But being a firm believer in karma I believe that he will get his just due in some way shape or form.

Wait, what's the automated timer on the safe do, exactly?

I feel sorry for this guy. Just showed up to work, gets shot by a robber.

Off topic: inb4 "Gamestop robs its customers"
The timer on the safe (at least at the stores I worked at) was 9 minutes. This is meant to discourage robbery like that because most of the time, the robber doesn't want to "hang out" for 9 minutes, as it's possible that someone has contacted the police as soon as the gun is pulled (someone could be in the back room and see it on the security camera TV, for instance). A robber is never 100% sure that the police haven't been notified, and so a 9-minute timer usually freaks them out too much to have the employee bother with it.

That's the logic my DM gave me when I asked the same question, anyways.

What a fucking idiot.

He had absolutely no reason to shoot the guy, I don't know, maybe he just wanted to up his sentence from that of holding up a place to that of shooting a guy. Good choice dude.

Most likely, this robber just got out of prison after serving a two year stint..
that explains why he thinks the Wii is still valuable/worthing shooting someone over.

Of course he'll probably shoot himself when he realizes that Wii's stopped being the hard to obtain/most desired object on Earth LAST christmas...
