I play video games between 6 and 8 hours a day, but the thought of letting someone even go hungry for a day so I can play games is terrible, let alone letting a 3 mo. old to die over it.

Boggles my mind. I know they have a different mentality regarding children but this huge example of neglect is just...heartbreaking.

This almost sounds like purposeful neglect. I don't mean that games were more important (though they certainly were). I mean that they left her with the intention of her dying.

Well...whatever happened...I hope the little girl is in a better place now.

I am really upset...I love video games...but seriously, games will really not do anything good for you. You left your REAL child for one that was made of pixels. A child that could have been a great athlete, a doctor, a star...even if she was a bum, at least she had a chance! But you guys ruined it because you were too busy fucking with video games.

I hope you like fire, because I think God is PISSED.

I dont see how this is negative publicity for the Gaming Industry. But I can see how it could be used against it.

I see this as parents with addictive personalities neglecting their child.

How many horror storys of child negect have come out of addiction to hard drugs and Alchohol. Not to mention the strife caused by addiction to tobacco.More than I care to remember.

Oh yeah, that sounds like a winning couple right there. What I want to know is what parents would let their daughter not only marry a bum almost twice her age, but let him in their house and mooch off them.

Then again, maybe shitty upbringing would explain it. This is a failure for all involved.

This is how it should be:

Real Daughter >>>>>> Virtual Daughter

This is how those assholes thought:

Virtual Daughter >>>>>> Real Daughter

I. Hope. They. Die.

Korea needs to stop blaming everything else and for once blame themselves for this, well in this case just the parents. this goes for Australia as well and some other random communist countries. The title should be 3 Month old duaghter starves to death, Irresponsible Parents to blame.

Wait a second.

The husband, 41, and the wife, 25 were both unemployed, living with the parents of the wife. Both spent most of their time at 24-hour internet cafes, notorious for crowds of gamers and dense cigarette smoke, even during the pregnancy. The couple called the police in September to report their daughter's death after returning from a 12-hour gaming session.

The couple also admitted to feeding her rotten powdered milk as well as spanking her whenever she cried.
Let's ask a few questions from a non-games destroying the world's youth perspective:

-If the family were living with the mother's parents, why didn't they ask them to look after the child before they left?

-How could the family not afford decent food but still be able to spend all of their time at an arcade if they were both unemployed?

-Why did they resort to physically beating their child just to shut her up?

From the sound of it, games were just an outlet for the couple to waste their time with. If they were given the opportunity to spend their entire day reading, binge drinking, or doing anything else non-productive instead of taking care of their child, I bet they would have jumped at the chance. These two sound like they don't even know how to take care of themselves, let alone a newborn child.

I would go so far as to say that the two are kind of stuck in a childish mental frame. From reading the article, it sounds like they aren't willing to do any work, that they expect others to take care of things for them, and that they have a tendency to run away or throw a tantrum if forced to face a problem themselves. I'm a little surprised no one blew the whistle on them before this happened.

WorkCover for causing suicides.

Huawei for espionage.

Emirates airlines for price fixing.

I could go on if you want me to.

This is so ironic yet so awful at the same time. Their daughter died because they were too busy caring for a virtual daughter.
