PC Gaming Show somehow still has their showcase. I just tuned in really late because I had a feeling I wasn't missing much. And I was right the presentation was kinda cringe, but there were a few interesting titles:

I must say this one made me lauigh. It's such a weird concept, but the metroidvania gameplay looks fun?

I normally don't bother with most metroidvanias, but the Marachi Legends game I find intriguing.

The Star Wars Outlaw trailer annoyed me even more than usual when it comes to cinematic trailers. Just being a Star Wars property isn't enough anymore.

I didn't even bother searching for the trailer since Ubisoft is the one making the game.

Just being a Star Wars property isn't enough anymore.
You think the hardcore fans will ever learn that?

Persona 3 is renowned for having no definitive version, with both Persona 3: FES and Persona 3 Portable having reasonable claim to the title of best version. (Even though the answer is Portable)

Atlus have therefore inexplicably decided that the new remake won't be definitive either because it will omit the extra content from both FES and Portable and only remake the original Persona 3. So now players will have to choose between FES, which has some extra playable content but fucked combat because you can only control the main character and also was only ever on the PS2, Persona 3 Portable, which has different extra content mostly focused on the social side of the game (and has an alternative female main character) and fixed combat, but also no 3D overworlds because it was a PSP game (but does have ports to modern systems), and now the remake which doesn't have any of the extra content but has good visual fidelity and the fixed combat from Portable. https://www.escapistmagazine.com/persona-3-reload-will-not-feature-content-from-portable-p3p-fes/

I just watched the combat portion of the Starfield deep dive. Any scene inside a structure looks great. Any scene in the open world looks like Bethesda didn't think it through.

The frame rate is definitely better than the first showcase, but then that's the lowest bar on Earth to clear. It's also still seemingly inconsistent. Weirdly enough I noticed the frames dropped when they were showing bare fisted combat.

It just looked like the same old skyrim/fallout combat as always. I wanna be impressed by the game i really do. But nothing about it looks all that good and it sounds way over promised.

I hope im wrong.

I watched the whole thing and boy do those conversation look stiff, it feel like they don't realize the world has moved on since they made oblivion and character look dead at you while standing incredibly stiff feel awkward. At the same time, a lot of the dev interview felt awkward themselves, so I guess maybe they don't realize it...

Otherwise it look decent enough while not really showing anything all that special. I do wonder how much difference there'll be between ship size. I always find these game really make big ship just feel like small ship, I wish you could have an overhead view once you get to bigger class that have dozens of gun on them and it become more about directing your crew rather than feeling like a WW1 biplane.

FES is clearly the definitive version of the original because it has the actual ending of the story, as for the remake, who knows how far that one will go. Hell it may change things so it ends differently so we won't have that issue. They may not be directly trying to incorporate things from fes but I expect that some of the aspects it contained would have to be included if they're trying to tell the full story in 1 game. You just cut out the gameplay component a bit if needed.

Ubisoft is next. I really don't have high expectations, but Xbox showcase was alright for me. So Ubisoft is welcome to suprise me.

We know there's gonna be more on SW Outlaws. I really hope it's a smuggler/gunslinger game like it's presenting itself to be. Because I am kinda tired of Jedi and force stuff always taking the center stage. Apparently it's gonna be an open-world as well?

Probably more on AC Mirage, but also some other AC games that got annouced a few months back..... Which of course, will lead them to share more on how AC Infinity will work.

New season/update for Siege and For Honors, maybe for Divison 2 as well, or even Divison 3? Some Prince of Persia might be nice. Or even a new Splinter Cell game. I would love to ask for a new Ghost Recon game, but I am not sure it'll have a place in today's market.

I am also expecting more garbage, like a new Just Dance game, Skull and Bones (I think I threw up in my mouth a bit just now), and Watch_Dogs.

No expectations at all for Beyond good and evil 2.

I think the gunplay looks ever so slightly better than Fallout. Maybe it's because you're not using cobbled together pieces of shit as firearms. But yeah, the melee combat looks like they ripped it out straight from Skyrim.

It's honestly shocking how uninterested I am in Ubisoft. Back in highschool, Ubi games were pretty much all I'd play.

My guess is that you'll start as non Jedi but will get jedi power/saber part way trough, a la KOTOR.

I'll plug citizen sleeper 2 from the PC showcase cause I really liked the first one and haven't seen any mention of it yet, if you want more disco elysium in beatiful 2D art.

Apparently Starfield is confirmed to be 1440p/30FPS on Xbox Series S, and 4K/30FPS on Series X.

No news about a performance mode.

Big oof.

That's unfortunate. Maybe they're doing it so Reload can have an expanded version à la P4G or P5R (or FES) of its own later down the line.

I mean, it's Atlus. Let's not pretend it can't happen, cuz they're dikish like that. Watch it be the FES content too.
