I didn't realize people cared so much about the political views of the people who make their snack foods; it just boggles my mind that something like this can be controversial!
It would be like if I stopped eating Chinese food because I don't want to support anyone who supports a communist country, or if I refused to drink fanta because it was originally made for nazis....

MY LAST POST ON THIS THREAD, GIANT AMOUNT OF REPLIES BELOW!

Ugh, really? The only problem I have is how in your face people are about this on both sides of the spectrum. (Ha, I made a color joke there.) The people against homosexuality are ridiculously violent and over-the-top about it and the people that are for it are trying to shove it down peoples throats like... well like a rainbow colored oreo.
I probably shouldn't have to say this as many times as I have to, but when I'm allowed to marry another man in all 51 states, see homosexuals and lesbians in the stars with George Clooney and what have you with things like coming-out being mute because it becomes a sense of normality, then I shall put down the rainbow colored flag and stop saying this following sentence: I am not allowed equal rights as others and I find it appalling that I can be fired from my job for being gay, without being able to sue the company in certain states, not able to marry another man or adopt a child because I'm a unfit parent on the basis of me being gay, not be yelled at how I'm going to spend the afterlife in forever torment and finally being targeted violently and verbally for being gay, then I shall stop shoving it down people's throats but till then I shall carry this rainbow-colored-metaphorical-flag with me.

Does this mean I'm gonna have to suck cocks now?
Anybody can suck dick, but you can't choose if you get off to it or not.

Well shit, I love fanta. I have the strangest feeling now to rape all male jews to death. Could someone please exorcise this soda-pop demon from me?

1. They are not showing support for gays. They just want to show, that they are a good company, that supports everyone, etc.=>more income;
2. Gays do not need support and protection, at least of this kind. The less "protection" and "support" campaigns and "gay pride" parades there is, the lesser ammount of provoked conservatives there is, which leads to decrease of ammount of homosexuals, who died from head trauma.
Obviously the less you talk about wanting equal rights, the more likely it is the opposition will give it to you out of the kindness of their giant heart!

Or not...

Captcha: Easy as cake.

Even the captcha getting in on this.
I am not saying that there should not be ANY kind of protection. Protection by law is more then needed. BUT! If you will continue provoking rednecks with parades, where two guys wear skimpy outfits and hug each other, then those legal acts will simply have no effect. I am not saying that there should not be any talking about equal rights and I really do believe that every human being should be treated equaly no matter the gender, religious believes, etc. (exept for nazies, fascists and agressive morons, obviously), but going overboard is also unnecesary and, most of the time, hurtful.
IMHO, the best way to do it is to include gay characters in TV-series, movies, etc. But they should not act like "Hiiiiii!! ^_^ You know sugar, this purse is simply fabulous". Rather, they should be more like comedian (sorry, forgot his name) from "V for Vendetta" movie.
I've been reading up on the Stonewall Incident a bit and from what I gather, it was common for people such as cops to raid gay bars. The problem with the idea of "Just don't do anything to stop it and stop provoking them" is that it essentially leaves the people who just stopped doing anything defenseless and able to lose rights.

To put it simply, do you think blacks would have the rights they have now if they did not fight for them? Likewise would women have these rights if they didn't fight for them? Theres a reason why we need to fight and the specific reason is the exact same reasons blacks had to fight and women had to. In a sense, I can be fired from certain companies for being gay and its totally legal. I am not allowed to marry my partner who me and him will be happy yet two straight people who despise one another can marry. I am portrayed as a child molester to some and as a unfit parent because I might rape my child if they have a dick but I'm not given a chance to prove them wrong.

Also, your stereotyping of gays in the above post makes me slightly angry, not that I am putting this into my post [I hope i'm not] but not all gays are fucking feminine girls who carry around god damn purses, neither are we slutty people in damn thongs. Hell one of the pridefest I saw had exactly one person in a G-String, exactly one and everyone else was fully clothed like a standard person.

Its unconstitutional to deny your citizens rights over things like gender, race, religion and sexuality. This is one of those times to where its necessary to fight.

*sigh* Why do people have to ***** about stupid things? (said the man who was ironically bitching over a stupid thing)
Personally I'm not a big fan of OREOs, but I'm really glad to see that they are supportive and open minded to peoples preferences. I'm not gay or a fan of the cookie itself, so I can't really say that the rainbow colored OREO has any effect on me, but I don't think there's a reason to get upset over this. It just feels really childish.

People who boycott a cookie company for religious beliefs are probably not entirely sane anyway.

Also, I'd so buy this rainbow Oreo if they ever made it.
the best part, their using facebook to do it. And facebook...supports gay rights!

I'm super pissed at Oreo now. How could they do this? They put up a display of an eight-layer rainbow Oreo and they're not even selling them for real? What is this world coming to?

...Honestly, this just makes me want to go get some Oreos. Oreos are great with milk.

I think I'll run up to the store and get some tomorrow.

I'm only upset that gays ruined rainbows :( I wish we could see a picture of a rainbow and not automatically think of it as a symbolism of being gay.

What i saw is that they are pride to present a tasty multicolor cookie. then i read the article. Well, "american conservatives", that pretty much sums up all of their reactions. i mean i dont want to get banned on here and all.

Most hilarious thing I've read all day!
Seriously though, that looks waaaay too sugary for my taste, too many layers, too much sugar, that just can't be good for you. XD
But yeah, apparently, some people skipped the "love thy neighbor" and the "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" lessons... I'm not all that religious, but I'm pretty sure that's not following the "WWJD" philosophy.
there has to be a screenshot of this neil patrick harris avatar thing, i googled but cant find it !
friend linked me this

Rainbow sherbet was rocking the multi-coloured look before it was 'cool', but despite the fact it happens to look like the pride flag i'm pretty sure most of the people to have posted against the campaign might still indulge in it. It's just a delicious cookie and it makes me question how much this really matters in the grand scheme of things.

To be honest, Kraft do own a lot of other brands as well as Oreo's, such as Cadbury's here in the UK. I totally support Gay rights, but if it was a case to allow homosexuality and no chocolate'I would no survive in a world without Caramel chocolate

But the worst thing about it all? Kraft isn't actually going to sell this six-layer rainbow monstrosity; it was made exclusively in honor of Pride Week.

I WANTED THAT COOKIE.

Why taunt us with something you would never give?

I am deeply offended that they are not actually producing a six layered, rainbow-colored Oreo cookie. I demand my right to eat one an contract diabetes on the spot.

I don't exactly hate gay people.

But I do hate it when they rub it in my face like this. Y'know. The fact that they are gay.
You know what I hate when all those heterosexuals rub in my face that they are heterosexual. You know like holding hands and making out in public ... that is disgusting, I mean IEW heterosexuals >.>

Hmmm I'm seeing a lot of people objecting to the Oreo due to it being 'gay' which is forbidden in the bible. I also notice that they have short hair and lack long beards, which is funny as in Leviticus 19:27 shaving is forbidden...
always enjoy that one as a counter to 'it's in the bible so therefore its right'. People can deny they eat shellfish, pork, gossip or curse but not looking like Gandalf is usually a pretty big clue that they are shaving...

You know, if people are boycotting Oreo's because they made a rainbow color Oreo cookie picutre, I wonder what these people's reactions are to a bag of fucking skittles.
